Good Morning CGs!

Up and at 'em, Gurus! Should be another chilly one here today again. It was in the upper 40s yesterday...not the kind of weather I want. Oh well. My wife said maybe 70 on Wednesday. Not sure. I'm gonna try to make it out to Melrose this week to pick up my new top. Depends on how the work / family schedule goes.

So as far as the landscaping project...

This is how the river rock looks before:

Photobucket

This is the right side after I was done digging it out:

Photobucket

I worked on the left side yesterday for 3 1/2 hours straight after I got home from work. I was just exhausted mentally at the end and had to stop. Didn't finish...maybe 85% done. I think there was twice as much rock on the left side. The pile is bigger. I'll get a snapshot later. But it gives you an idea of what I'm doing.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I thought the river rock looked pretty good. There are advantages to having stone bordering your driveway and walkway.. That would have been a list item for me, the 2015 list. Things to do when you have nothing better to do. Then again, when your wife is bustin your balls to get it done .... anything to stop the incessant whine ..........

Matt...I like the rock, you need to put it back...what are you going to replace it with?

Had a good day yesterday with UBoy. Went up to play some golf in the morning....I am sore today....then lunch at the club.....naps...and then burned up a bunch of ammo at the range......Good Father Son day to honor my Dad's Passing years ago.

Weather is great here and 90 tomorrow...yikes! Got a list of farmers all needing stuff at the same time so I better get going...I'll check in later.

Have a good day Guru's....

Good morning guys....no whining from me today. I hope I got that all out in yesterdays chat. Although now I'm just mad.

Not sure what this week brings...I know that I have three bathroom cabinets to finish and a couple countertops (formica).

Get out there and stop whining.....

I really like them and will eventually get there but the interior needs some work first about 2K for everything. Then I will look at doing some coil overs......Why didn't Chevy just do them in the first place I wonder....?

We have very high water rates in our area and we are sitting on an ocean of cold clear water 60 feet down. I'm suprised you don't have a domestic well in your back yard.....of course they are illigal here in the city limits or everyone would have one and kiss off the city...but we are just outside town and have our own well. I have heard some folks in town have 150 dollar water bills a month or more if they want green lawns all summer.

We have a big lawn and would be impossible to keep it green if we were on city water....

I was thinking you might want to go to Wichita when your done teaching....kinda half way to everywhere......

Please don't say red rubber mulch! The community I lived prior to this one used rubber mulch in the playground. That crap was all over the neighborhood somehow and it never bio-degrades. Yeah, it's recycling but its still littering in my mind.

90 degrees here yesterday but 90 here is like 80 in most places.

River rock - If you put a full payloader scoop in the back of a Silverado half ton with helper springs......the rear axle spring snubbers get smooshed.....and it don't steer to well cause there's anoyt 20 lbs. of weight left on each front tire.....ask me how I know.

Coilovers....I'm a big fan.
However, they aren't that better than the stock setup unless you plan to put the car on the racetrack.

Good Morning all... I'm working from home this morning and then taking Kathie to Georgetown University Hospital for a one year check up. She has been cancer free for almost a year now and she is seeing the docs today for her annual follow up. I think its been just over a year since her initial surgery. I'm happy she is doing so much better.

Its still cool here today after a weekend of rain. We really needed the rain. Lots of people were complaining but it was sorely needed to wash away all the pollen and to get some moisture in the ground.

Oh Well... back to work. I have a conference call in just a few minutes.

Have a good day.

Greetings! Matt's project reminds me of when we put rock all around the house and built several rock gardens - I shoveled something like 23 tons of that stuff. Fun times. If it ever has to come out, somebody else is doing it.

Have a good day, yawlz!

And don't say the red dyed wood chips either. That stuff carries toxins and fades over time.

Yea Marcus, our water isn't 60' it's at about 210'. The problem is we have high levels of uranium in our supply, so the city, in all their wisdom, has chosen to put in a RO system, at the cost of something like 8-10 million dollars. We have to foot the bill for about 20% of that. My feelings was the city could have bought and had installed an RO system for every house in town and supplied filters every year. They could do this for a very long time for what it will cost to put in this big system. Word is, the filters for this big system will cost 1/2 million upwards to a $1 mil \year. Doesn't make economical sense to me. And a large number of houses already have an RO.

Several years ago the city decided that we would start producing our own electricity. They spent $3 million to put in a generating plant which never worked right from the start. After spending another $3-4million trying to get it working right, they gave up on it and went back to the power generating company we were getting power from originally. We paid for that thing for almost 20 years.

I'm thinking more like Great Bend than Wichita......not comfortable in the more metro areas. 3 1/2 hours to KC, 2 1/2 back here.

I liked the river rock too.

If you want to see a great guitar player:

http://news.yahoo.com/jack-white-live ... ams-itunes-140234181.html

Jack White did a documentary called "It might get loud" with the Edge (U2) and Jimmy Page (you know) a while back about growing up playing and the early years of the bands.

Jimmy's hair is pure white.

Boy does that being back memories ! Back about 1972, I had a '64 Impala (6 cyl. powerglide) and We still had a coal furnace in the house. We ran out of coal and couldn't get a load for a day or so. Dad tells me to take a couple baskets and go to the tipple and get enough to carry us through. I grab a shovel, couple of bushel tubs and my brother and head out. Well, on the way back with several hundred pounds of coal in the trunk, I notice steering "isn't what it should be." I immediately knew what was going on and gingerly nursed the car home. Ah yes, memories.
