Last one. After all it is a Corvette, not just a bowtie.

Thanks, guys. I think I do like the black better. I like the idea of the 383 plate but that one just looks cheesy. It would be cool if it had more or a graphics feel to it than just basic lettering...like "383 stroker" with the stroker in diagonal script, etc.

So I think it's one of these two:

OR

(in black)

I bought a blank one, and designed my own emblem and image to be etched. At the time, I was planning an LT1 intake on an engine in my '77 Corvette so I basically designed a '77 flag emblem to be etched.

If you have something in mind a bit more unique than any of those vanilla Ebay options, just put your own idea on a blank one. It doesn't even need to be etched...it could be painted, pinstriped, powder coated...really the sky is the limit with a blank plate.

Matt - although I agree that would be nice, I don't feel like putting that much work in to it. I just want it done.

I like the last one. I like to keep engine mods secret so no 383 for me.

UPDATE.....

I received the cover last night. I was happy with the quality, etc and installed it right away. Unfortunately it doesn't fit correctly. The plate that is "manufactured to stock specs".....isn't. The stock plate is 4.0 inches wide. The ebay one is 3.75. That leaves a 1/8" gap on both sides when recessed in the tb.

I emailed the company a picture and the rep said they make it smaller to fit different throttle bodies. So my choices are return the plate or keep it and get a $5 refund on the $20 purchase. I'm up in the air about it. I like the look but the gaps piss me off.

Comments?

Matthew

I am not a fan of how the circle of the emblem surrounds one of the fastener heads.

It's in. Close the hood and forget about it. The only gap you should worry about is this one.

I spent waay too much time modding my stock cover to fit the bigger BBK TB. I was real happy with the result, however.

I never thought of painting it black underneath. That's a really good idea. I think I'm gonna keep it. I do like the way it looks.

I just bought one that is engraved "Lingenfelter". I know I am a poser but it still looks nice to me.
I removed one that looks just like the one you bought except it fits and it is silver with the raised portion painted blue (to match my blue car).
Shoot me your mailing address and I will give it to you. Freebie!

Very thoughtful of you, Ron! I ended up keeping the black one. There is a picture of it in daily chat from a few days ago. Perhaps someone else with a blue or silver corvette would appreciate that, though.
