Like it says. It's a cool sunny day. Great way to kick of the month. The next 4 or 5 days will be absolutely beautiful in South Florida. I'm driven to drive the one of the cars today. Maybe a vert. It's just that nice out.

Good Morning Tommy. Mostly Sunny today high near 50. The smell of burning leaves is heavy in the air this morning, hum...so much for clean air around here! Taking the Vette out this morning for a nice road trip to Indianapolis. My wife wants to visit her alma mater Butler University and have dinner in Broad Ripple near by. Neat area. Rack up some miles and enjoy the fall weather.

Good morning guys....Looks to be another nearly perfect day here in sw Kansas. A cool start this morning but is supposed to get into the upper 60's to low 70's.

The guy I am building the doors for is a former student of mine and now is a car painter/touch-up guy. He goes around to dealerships and fixes all the little nicks and scrapes on cars before they sell them. While he was here yesterday looking at his doors I had him look at the Corvette. When I bought it, it had some scrapes and nicks and a couple areas where someone had tried to "fix" some nicks (looked like they got some paint and globbed it on). Well, he's going to fix those areas for me. He's going to look at his schedule, but he thinks he can do it this week (Thursday-Friday).

I really impressed him and his wife by having the doors done already. I just talked to them Friday afternoon and measured them up, came home and started building them. The funny part is her dad has a shop as nice as mine...no nicer than mine and they have been waiting three years for him to do them. This is one job I never figured I'd do with her dad the cabinet guy he is, and no, he's not that busy.

I better get to the shop and sand those doors and get them done.

I've been spending some time on a Mopar site. Was looking on Craigslist and ran across some old Mopars and got me thinking back when I had my 64 Polara 500. Now I'm wanting to get an old Mopar and fix it up. The guys on the site I've been looking at are some real wizards. The biggest issue with those old cars is rust, but after reading the threads I think there's nothing too big for these guys.

Some vintage pictures...

Greetings! Something must be wrong with the clocks, since I got up before the crack of 9:00. Looks like it's gonna be sunny and mid-40's here today. Maybe I'll throw a coat of Rejex on the Maxima.

An old Mopar would be fun, Marcus. Rust was a huge problem, indeed, especially up in this neck of the woods. I remember seeing some of them with holes in the fenders after just a few of our winters.

Sounds like you have a steady stream of work, Tom. My niece's husband builds stone fireplaces, etc. and does a lot of work for barter - he probably bartered half of the house he and my niece built. Nice deal.

Enjoy your Sunday, Gurus!

Tommy you are heading into the best of South Florida...

TBee I would love to find an old Polara to fix up...Parts would be hard to find I'm thinking....where do you hang out with those Mopar guys...here is my High School car that my dad had bought new in 1964....bucket seats console Torqueflite....air shocks and the torsion bars cranked up......looks familiar Tom...

Rock on Guru's....

Jeez, I need another cup of coffee - I thought Marcus posted about the Polara, probably because I remembered seeing that pic.

I've only put a wrench on one Mopar in my entire life.
Not because i don't like them, just pure coincidence.

I'm 90% sure it was this 62 Polara that the team bought from Bob Banning,

I'm sick to death of rust but don'y have much left.

I was very lucky to spend my youth at the drags every weekend. And very lucky to have actually helped on this car along with a 59 Corvette and a Willys (3 car team).

Rust sucks...and so does this thing I bought 2 weeks ago.
But sometimes you have to do things that suck.

I wouldn't want to do something like this with a wire wheel.

Well here in Arkansas it was a beautiful vert driving 81-degree sunny day yesterday and whaddya know it's only 60 today. Brrr.... looks like I might actually get some inside work done. supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow. Thought I might clean the car till I found that out. Need to get the knee deep section of leaves along the side of the house raked up and into the back yard and burn all that mess but not really up to all that, either. Could do the laundry and dishes.. or I could just keep holding down this recliner and nap all day.... I think I have four beers left.....

Just doing errands today. Gonna go work out now. RR#1 has been acting bad the past few days....not listening, talking back, not eating her dinner....etc. She's only 4 1/2 so it's too early for this nonsense. Of course it's driving my wife insane so she's mad at me every 5 minutes. Hey Tommy....got any extra room?

Great way to grow up. Playin' with fast cats.

Funny thing is that I'm still playin' with fast cars, and getting to drive them.

2 weeka ago, it was building the necessary C6 accessory outa PVC pipe to prevent GM engineering from trying to kill you on the track.

I'm in the dog house so much I sometimes don't even bother walking into the main house. Speaking your mind has it's drawbacks. I've learned to keep my mouth shut and my thoughts to myself ....... most of the time. My mistake is I fall into the same traps time and time again. It's insane. One of the things that really pisses my wife off is that I breathe.
