Good Morning CGs!

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend so far. The wife and I watched a movie last night from the Redbox. She rented "Footloose". It's a remake of the original one with Kevin Bacon. Now I think the original was great and the remake got pretty decent reviews. It was pretty accurate to the original script with some updates/changes. I thought it was entertaining but certainly not as good as the original. I'd watch the original over this one any day. So it's worth watching on tv for free, but I probably wouldn't recommend renting it.

Looking forward to some vacation time this week. Had to to burn a couple days before the end of the year so I'll take this time to relax a bit and tinker around the house.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning guruland;

Another great looking day here; 80's and back down to the 50's tonight...Today is hang the lights day and after 13 years we have it down to a science LOL....bags all marked and laying out in the garage, ready to go.

Now that the A.I.R.valve is in, I've got some sort of miss on the drivers side that I need to track down today as well as check the check valve on the exaust side of the system; which I didn't check yesterday...DUH!

Also might take in the swap meet....I'm still looking for a nice belt case for my new Leatherman.

Y'all have a good day out there...

Good morning boyz and girlz.

teebee .... skip this post please .......

One sign of being married and being tainted as a manly man is saying stuff like "She rented "Footloose". It's a remake of the original one with Kevin Bacon. Now I think the original was great and the remake got pretty decent reviews. It was pretty accurate to the original script with some updates/changes. I thought it was entertaining but certainly not as good as the original." I'm not saying some of my manhood hasn't been altered. I'm saying getting married has certain impacts on social behavior. Married men watch many programs with their wives and family that as an individual would have a chance of appearing on the small screen. In my experience, the give and take in a relationship is mostly the man giving and the woman taking. The woman NEVER sees it as such. Your buddies always knew when you were caught in a woman's snare. You don't make it to the weekly gatherings of the guys. You stop attending sporing events, concerts, or clubs. You see less and less of the guys till your friendship becomes a "we usta see a lot of each other". The fun (and trouble) become more distant an occurrence as you bow in servitude to your betrothed. Many men think they will be different. Many men either submit to their wives or doom their relationship through independent action. Say it isn't so. Tell me you wear the pants in the family. That your wife honors and obeys your wishes. This is the 21st century. The women have been wearing pants for all of my life. Almost a century ago women won their rights through suffrage. Today there is more than enough suffrage to go around. Have a nice day guys. Keep doing what your doing.

Oh I don't know....when you are in a working relationship be it a marrage or a business partnership or just living with a roommate no matter what the sex....you have to make adjustments because two personalities are involved. Its give and take in any partnership. Around here we try to keep it 50-50 but depending on the situation it can swing one way or another. I never go see girl flicks we always go see show's I want to see...but I will take her to a stage production down in Omaha every now and then. I would not ever not want to be married to her so we look for comprimise as we get older....that is how it is when you love someone.....

Went into Saturday night church again last night and it was very cool again so we may be seeing a trend getting started here.

Nicer today..may even get out the GS later this afternoon and go for a joy ride....yeeeehaaaaa....bang second gear...hear those pipes talken back there....

Did not get to the Bond movie last night but maybe tonight....

Have a bountiful day Guru's.....

Greetings! Phew - I dodged a bullet. Woke up a little before 6AM, couldn't breathe since it was so dry. Turned up the humidifier to Warp-9 and voila, racked up another 4 hours of sleep. It's good to be a professional. Meanwhile, the Mrs. just informed me that the high for tomorrow is 17. Ducky. And I did not win the Powerball, as I had planned.

Have a good day, all!

Morning guys....Tommy, funny thing, I just started reading your post when my wife shows up and tells me to show the pictures I took yesterday to the bride and new hubby (they showed up a bit earlier than we figured), so I stop and show the pictures to them. When I get done Bryan (new hubby) get me an external drive to copy them to...wife told me to burn a CD, so I jump right into it. While I am trying to get the external drive going, she comes in and starts in on "Are you going to pack?" "Yes, dear, but I am trying to get these pictures copied first." "Well, I'll go do it." "No, I'll get to it in a minute." She stomps off mad, so I jump right up and go get my stuff, "I'll do it", she says. "No, I'll do it" or else there will be hell to pay. So I get all the stuff down and then out to the car, and packed up. I can tell she's on the warpath today, so I'll be walking on eggshells.

Yea, give and take.......

I had great plans for today... thought I'd make myself a corvette tire end table and shelves - not much sleep last night - made it to the grocery store and through two loads of laundry, that's it. Tried to take a nap during the last load's dryer time and bout the time I dozed off that extremely loud ass buzzer went off. Scared me to death. One day I'll remember to shut that off. Normally would be off tomorrow but have to go in to make up a day. Screws my whole week up.
Hope everyone had a good weekend...

I don't wanta see no pitchers of completed cars. :binky:

I shoulda done the bottom of the car first, makes my whining about all the cracks in the fenderwells kinda whimpy.

The underside is rough but the rough stuff is all the metal parts. The PIA about it is that sitting on a creeper, I have 2 in. of clearance to my head and running the air die grinder with scotchbrite is at a bad angle. And I'm not going to do the glass bead thing again.

The only good thing is that Simple Green cleans up the bare glass floorpan beautifully and easily. I'll take little victories whenever I can.

Well, we made it home after an hour stop to see the in-laws.

I need to give a little review of the Cadillac CTS.... It is much smaller than the 03 Bonneville it replaced. The trunk doesn't hold as much (which means we pack less), not necessarily a bad thing. The back seat is pretty comfy even with the seats back a ways (as commented by the wife), plenty of leg room. Not really for five people, but four adults can be transported comfortably. Speaking of the seats, these leather covered buckets are more comfortable than the Bonne's. More form fitting and support both vertical and lateral. The engine is smooth, quiet and plenty of power. The six speed auto shifts like butter, smooth and silky. The little 3.6 engine has more than adequate power. Cruising down the interstate at 80 was nothing for it, all the while, turning in 28-30mpg. I once had to kick it in the a$$ and the speedometer quickly jumped up to 90 mph. Kind of wished when we were looking, that I could afford the "V" version, thinking that the V6 wouldn't have enough guts, but I must say, I can't imagine what 500hp would be like in this little rocket.

I guess in concluding, I am very impressed and pleased with my purchase.
