Good morning gang.

Well around here it is cool today with sunny skies and temps in the 80's.

School for everyone in our area is in full swing starting today.

Lets all be careful out there driving and watch out for the kids and teenage drivers.

Word of the Day Monday, August 19, 2013

od\ od, ohd \, noun;

1. a hypothetical force formerly held to pervade all nature and to manifest itself in magnetism, mesmerism, chemical action, etc.

Origin:

The term od was coined by chemist and philosopher Karl Ludwig von Reichenbach as a name for his hypothetical force. He proposed the name od because he thought a short word starting with a vowel would be more easily combined in compound words.

Good morning, all! Dreary but not raining (yet) in the Philadelphia area this morning.

Found out why idly surfing last night that Lance Miller put a short paragraph about my recently passed friend that we had the celebration on Saturday for in the this year's Corvettes at Carlisle brochure. Nice touch - I may have to score an extra copy when I'm out there on Friday morning.

Went and visited my wife's cuz yesterday. I admit he has some nice toys, a Ferrari, a 40 ft Allegra motor home with 4 slides and a nice new Jeep to tow behind the motor home. He was talking about bringing it down to the Keys for a weekend and I bring down my boat (after I get it working) for a relaxing weekend. That plan has potential. The parts are on the way to repair the boat. I have to tear into the 91 a little deeper and I see plenty of things I need to get done. Sue leaves for San Diego on Thursday and comes back next Wednesday. She has a double surgery coming up on Sept 6th so I have to wash and iron my nurses uniform. I should have some time to work on stuff while she's away. I'll just have to listen for the phone .

Greetings! The last week was outstanding - you'd be hard-pressed to find better weather anywhere on the planet. But the dog days of summer arrive today - it's gonna be in the 90's and muggy all week.

Meanwhile, get out there and make some money:

Good morning guys. This is my Monday off. I have been getting every other Monday off for a while now and it's helpful to get caught up on things I wouldn't usually have time during the work week. I work 9 hour days and get off one every other week.

It's cloudy and dreary here too! I hope the weather clears by the end of the week for Corvettes at Carlisle. I'm going Friday and probably Saturday too. I'll be hanging out at the Corvette Club of America tent on the Fun Field. We share a tent with a club from New York called the Lost Caravan Corvette Club... They are a fun group of people to hang with too. Please stop by and say hi if you are in the vicinity and see the banners. I'm planning on picking up some new floor mats, roof weatherstrips and maybe some new chromed kick plates for entering the car. Mine current plastic ones are pretty beat up. I scored a free key fob from a friend last weekend . He is supposed to bring it to me at Carlisle. He found it in his tool box in the garage. He sold his '94 many years ago and has no need for the fob.

Well... back to chores. Chat later

Good evening CGs!

I was up around 3 am to make the trek home. I wanted rr#2 to sleep while we were driving and that was pretty successful. I did have to stop at a rest stop after about 2 hours and catch a 30 min nap. Came home and cleaned up, cut the grass, mopped the floors, did some laundry. Got another 30 min nap so I am caught up enough. Taking RR#1 to gymnastics now. Never a dull moment.

Pretty cool rock face and stature I like those...

Was a beautiful day here, would love to have been in the pool but it was less than 90 outside so that means the pool water was even colder, figured I'd freeze, but warmer than I'd like it to be for simple sunbathing in the lawn chair. Agreed tow work at the body shop again today, ran errands and mess all day, but managed to work in getting a couple of new truck tires installed for myself while I was at it. Two more in a couple of weeks. Falken Wildpeak ATs... Then if I can get the guys I work with to tint my side windows I"ll be done with that rig.
Enjoying a cold one on the front porch swing listening to my water fountain out here this afternoon/evening. My phone is blowing up. That dood from Memphis is blowing up my phone again. (rolleyes)

Drinking beer and listening to the sounds of a water fountain can only lead to one thing.

Those Panteras were really cool back in the day - still are. I remember reading an article in one of the car rags back in '73 where they tested a Pantera vs. a Trans-Am 455 Super Duty. I don't recall which car won what test, but remember that the TA was about $5600 and the Pantera was around $10k - a princely sum. Probably costs a bit more now ;-)

I always liked the Pantera, then I met this jerk off down in the Keys. He devalued the entire line just by owning one. Some people are just so full of themselves they don't leave any room to be full of shit. Now I just think of the beautiful red Pantera that was owned by a dickhead.

And that's all I have to say about that.

$40 to $100k depending on the car.

There were 40 on the lawn at the Concorso.

Pics tomorrow.

I had the opportunity to buy when they were 13k,18k, and 2 were priced in the mid to high 20's. Actually Sue could have picked one of them but chose her 911 Cabriolet instead. I can have any car I want if only I had the money.
