Hi all,

I just wanted to say hello as a newb. I recently learned about this site from a fellow member on another forum. I have a 68 L68 and an 88 driver. both are fun to work on. I look forward to asking some questions and contributing where I can.

This site looks great and glad to be a new member,
Thanks
Pat

Thanks all! I'm looking forward to being on this site.

OK- lets see if I can post this pic_
the 68 is a frame of restoration and getting prep'd for body and paint back to LeMans Blue

The 88 is the car my daily. To jump right in, the 88 brakes are very soft these days. Is there a good past thread or recommendation I should look at to chase down how I can get the "stop on a dime" performance back into them?

Best,
Pat

Awesome, another C3 owner among us. Most of these guys have C4s and newer. Don't see much in the way of C3 questions and posts so definitely don't be shy if you're working on the '68.

will do- the 68 has proven to been a very needy car - blown transmission put it into a garage 25 years ago and sat ever since. I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel- soon I hope! What yr C3 do you have?

When was the last time you did a complete brake fluid change?

Fluid is the first thing that comes to mind. A system bleeding should help. What kind of condition are the pads and rotors in?

How much do you want to spend? You can go all out with new rotors, pads, stainless lines, etc. It's easy to get carried away $$$.

Thanks Guys- I did not think to check for a vac leak at the booster. I will change fluid this weekend to start simple and go from there. I really don't drive the car much and would not expect the fluid to be bad yet but that is simple enough to change.

Pads and rotors are stock and fairly good- plenty of meat on the pad still. I do have to say- I was never impressed with the braking- the stock set up seems to fade quick when hot. Maybe time to treat the car to an upgrade.

Fluid dies in about 2 years. It will absorb enough atmospheric moisture as to render it nearly useless.

damned hydroscopic fluids...

Anyone know how to bleed the ABS system? I read somewhere that it needs to be bled separate from the rest of the system. My 91's FSM just has blank pages and tells me to refer to the 1990 FSM.
