Even though I have put off doing the exhaust this past weekend,
I did manage to get the water pump, accessory bracket, rocker arms, initial valve adjustment done, and intake installed.

Although I did smoke an old 3/8" electric drill while running oil through my pushrods and rockers.
Hard to believe how much resistance that oil gives after the system is pumped up.

Was wondering how your project is coming along, youre doing a clean job everything looks well detailed!

Lol on the comment of how much an oil pump drags things down, aint that the truth! Now imagine the stress the pump and shaft take and the hp robbed running a BB pump and heavy weight oil some old schoolers like to use.

Keep up the good work.

I was thinking that there has got to be a way to reduce all that drag. That has to eat away at HP too!

That is looking good! Is that an LT4 top end? What other mods are in that beauty?

Hey man, that looks great. IN the spring we'll have to meet 1/2 way for a beer and a burger so I can see that bad boy in person...

I love how the orange sets off against the rest of the motor, kinda ties together the old orange blocks with today's technology.

No, it's not an LT4 top end.

Its an LE2 heads and cam package with Lloyds specialty intake porting job he does. Also went for a little less cam than the LE2 usually goes with since I want to pass emmissions. Mods are in my signature already. I took the liberty to list them since I have paid for them. Even thought its not running yet.

PCM came back today from Brian Herter at PCMforLess
New 30# Ford SVO Injectors should be here tomorow.

Brian said he thinks that I'm leaving 15-20 HP on the table alone without the LT Headers - And the emissions cam is costing me some grunt too.
I hope to see 325RWHP from this configuration, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

In case you haven't already heard, test those babies before you put them in. I had two that were sticking. I spent a billion hours (no exaggeration) and a million dollars trying to get my car to run because I thought it couldn't possibly be the brand new FMS injectors. Well I was wrong...

Put them on a tester and cycle them, at the verry least tap them on the bench many many times.

Search on the forums, there are at least 4 others with similar experience.

Looks great, BTW!

How do you test them?
I thought these were supposed to be the greatest thing since peanut butter!! I had the guys at Speed Unlimited tell me to buy the new Accel injectors and I said Noooo, the online Corvette Crowd says to use SVO injectors! (They look at me like I'm crazy)

I'm jealous of all the room around your engine. My C3, I can't see a couple of the spark plugs, much less try and change them,,

A good dry sump system would take the load off the distributor and cam,

I've got a 1/2 hi-torque air drill I use to prime with- You better have a firm grip when it starts pumping...

That is the beauty of the C4's clam-shell Hood - I have a few accessories still off at this time, so it looks pretty accessible. When everything gets back on, its not so pretty any more.

Sorry - didn't want to make it sound worse than it is, just make you aware. They are good injectors, they just sometimes stick from the factory. Once I got them working the car ran perfectly (and still does). I have no idea why. You may just have to free them up.

The shop that figured it out for me had a little electronic cycler. He just plugged it into the injector and it fired it (dry) a few times. That's how we found the two.

It's just a simple mechanical spring, you should be able to find a way. Worst case you can check them on the vehicle, it's just messier. Or you can start it up, and if it runs fine then you're golden, if it's rough you'll have to pull them out and check.
