Good morning gang.

Cool out this morning. Feels like fall. Should be sunny here today with temps in the low 70's.

Not much else going on.

Word of the Day Tuesday, October 08, 2013

tittup\ TIT-uhp \, noun;

1. an exaggerated prancing, bouncing movement or manner of moving.

verb:

1. to move, especially to walk, in an exaggerated prancing or bouncing way, as a spirited horse.

Origin:

Tittup came to English in the 1600s from the imitative sound of a horse's feet hitting the ground.

A fourth grade teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living.

All the typical answers came up - fireman, mechanic, businessman, salesman... and so forth.

However, little Justin was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when the teacher prodded him about his father, he replied,

"My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes to music in front of other men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes, if the offer is really good, he will go home with some guy and stay with him all night for money."

The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some exercises and took little Justin aside.

"Is that really true about your father?"

"No," the boy said, "He works for the Democratic National Committee and helped to get Obama elected, but it's too embarrassing to say that in front of the other kids."

:-P

Greetings! Gonna get a little blast of summer here, 77 and sunny. I like it. If this could continue for a few more weeks, I'd be a happy camper.

Meanwhile, I think I'll not get one of these:

Good morning, all. Typical fall day in the Philadelphia area.

We're hoping to go to the annual (and wonderful) Hershey show this weekend, but the weather's looking iffy and I am not spending early Saturday in the cold rain. We'll game it as we get closer to Saturday ...

I had some painters here yesterday for the sides of the house. Just no way I am going up a ladder like that.

Andy, that's the reason I had steel siding put on my house. It's a long freaking way to the peak of a two story house and I refused to do it anymore.

Good Afternoon CGs!

Quite lazy today, I feel like Tommy

RR#2 is doing a bit better this morning. His fever started to slowly come back later in the morning so some motrin seems to have cured that. Time for lunch now, so I have to go feed him.

Hope everyone has a great day!

You can not see the bottom of the ladder in the picture, but he is actually three stories up in the air due to the steep ground slope. To reach the peak on the other side of the house is more like 4 or 5 stories in the air on the back side. Fortunately it is all cedar siding and the paint is in good shape.

I put an 8 foot stepladder on top of an 8 foot scaffold and climbed to the next to last step while balancing a 10 in. X 12 foot piece of cement board siding when I put it up.

Painted it too.

That's on my "Never Again" list.

The older we get, the wiser we get. Leave those jobs for the Matts of this world.

Went for a follow up appointment on Sue's knee surgery. The doctor has go back and fix something he couldn't locate the first time. He is doing it at no charge. None the less, Sue has to go back for surgery on OCT 23. That means I have to don my nurse wear again and Sue will be home for a few days recovering. To this I say .........

The 91 is not done . The coil was bad. It was grounding out. Fuel pressure still an issue. I'll wait till I pick it up and give the full rundown on repairs. It's a combination of things. I guess it's this cars turn to suck some money out of our savings. After I get it back and running good I have to send the cluster off for rebuild. The digital screen is toast. Another $350. Oh well, ya can't take it with you. Then there's the radiator job on the 90. That will happen soon.

I drive by a shelter on my way home. Today, as I passed by in my shiny old Vette, a homeless guy gave me a thumbs-up. Apparently the unwashed have an appreciation for the washed.

Off topic but I just saw this... pretty shitty...

but yet a 'closed' National Mall (due to shutdown) was apparently opened for an "Immigration Rally"... ugh....
