Our stepson and grand kids came by for a visit last night. They stayed for awhile and had a really nice visit. Our stepson was really a neighbor's son. He was born to older parents. We spent lots of time with us as a young boy and teenager and came to call us Mom & Dad. We were there for him in that capacity when he needed us to be. Today he is an assistant meat manager for a major grocery chain. His wife is a stay at home mom and his kids do well in school. Both his parents passed away and he continued to keep in touch with us. When they had the kids he introduced us to them as grandma and grandpa. My wife spoils them with attention and gifts as any grandma would. Being that we will probably never have any natural grand kids it's a win-win for everybody. ..... Yup, everybody's a winner.

I'm debating on what I will do today. The radiator? Move a mountain of mulch? Go to an auction? So far the mulch is winning because I won't have to spend any money and it has to get done anyway. I still haven't taken my shower so until I do, nothing is getting done. At least nothing that counts.

Note: Mulch is less itchy than fiberglass. .... Just sayin .....

Don't know if I can face that today.

But the alternative is hauling the bird cages out on the deck and washing them down.

It's early, I gotta think of a better alternative.

Good Morning CGs!

I have some outdoor chores to do today. Clean up some gardening decorations, patio chairs and furniture, kids toys, etc. Other than that not much except work tonight.

Kids had fun at the trick or treating last night. I was on popcorn/hot dog duty for the PTA. Everything was pretty smooth.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I was sitting on the concrete floor yesterday with my head up inside a wheelwell, holding a dewalt quarter sheet sander in one hand above my head and a shopvac hose in the other, getting sprayed in the goggles with fiberglass dust and I thought "Lunch at the casino would be more fun than this".

That turned into an afternoon at the casino. $160 ahead for the first time in a while. But the trips there lately have only resulted in like a $5 loss along with one free beer so.......................

It was good to get away from the dust, I might wash the fiberglass dust off the C4 today and go a drivin'

Sometime during the night we got rained on, sun started to come out then it went back in... sleepies hit me last night around 8:30 and I went to bed, up at 5, showered, fed and dressed by 6... on the couch at 7:30 back out till 9:15... hmmm - I meant to hit the gym for class this morning at 9 but missed it. Left hand is still sore from yesterday - hit the bag to hard it's bruised and swollen along my knuckles but I could've done the other stuff. If the sun comes out I might go get a walk in later.
the check engine light came on in the Vette - could be a gas cap thing again - hope that's all it is, then for some reason all my freon is out in the truck. I just put condesor and all that mess on it - I am realllllly not in the mood to be messing with this shit. I fully intended to sit on my rear and rest this weekend. I do, however need to move the couch and stuff around in here and drag that big a** plant inside (bird of paradise I think it is) and put it by the window where the couch is. I dont' know where else to put the thing where it will like it. The bathroom would be great with the humidity and all but it's crowded in there already.

*rubs eyes*

Greetings! I cruised to a 10:06 wake-up after a scary moment at around 8:15 where one of my eyes accidentally opened briefly. Phew! Not much on the agenda today (that I am aware of YET), other than needing to get the outdoor hoses blown out and water shut off, as it'll be dipping below freezing over the next few days. Looks like I got the Vette put away just in time, as the forecast for the foreseeable future is crap-o-la.

Keep warm, Gurus!

Sooooo, I take my shower, get ready to get to work when ..... Ring ...... Ring ....
It appears the secretary told a customer the nursery would be open today (which it's not because my wife is at a plant show and sale this weekend).
Would you go over to the nursery? There is a customer there that would like to get around 10 palm trees. Now all my advanced planning for the day goes out the window.(the stuff I just planned at 09:30) I meet the customer just after 10:00. I got back home just after 12:00. I loathe dealing with customers and doing sales. After 22 years in customer service I prefer to stick to the pick up and delivery, maintenance tasks and other behind the scenes stuff. On top of that I don't like spur of the moment stuff. I prefer to have at least a couple of weeks notice that you need me to do something. That way I can plan for it. Now my plans are turned upside down and I don't feel like doing $#!+. My motivation is in the hopper and I'm grumpy as can be. My wife only sees it one way. It's our business and you should be willing to help me out whenever I need it. The way I see it is if it ain't on the calendar or on my list I'm not gonna be happy about doing it. I'm one of those "You want it when?" people. Yep. Getting older and grumpier by the day and most of the time I just wish people would LMTFA. Of course that will never happen as long as I'm breathing. Till then I'll just have to wait for the next phone call ....... Ring ..... Ring .....

Evening guys....I got an early start watching videos on how to work the new software for the design side of the new CNC router. Was going to watch just one and then head up to the doughnut shop where our state representative was hosting a "town meeting". Well I got wrapped up in the videos and was 20 minutes late getting there. Made some comments when I did get there. Then after it was done I spoke for about another hour to some some people there about my new router (former students, and woodworkers from in town). Got home and headed up to school to get the computer with the design software on it so I could try out some of the things I learned. Worked on that for about an hour and decided to see how my designs would work in "real life". Ran several things and learned many things. I look up and it's after 5 and I have to minister in church at 6, so I run home and shower/shave/sh*#. I notice I've left my glasses at school so I jump into the pickup and go back to school grab my glasses and head to church. Father says to me "I'm having computer problems, can you look at my computer?" So now I'm working on his computer.

How's that for a quick rundown?
