I'm thinking the daily chat is always educational.....sometimes with stuff you are better off not knowing.......but educational none the less.....

The home town High School football team beat the No. 1 undefeated team in the State last night to get the chance to play for the State Championship. The score was 12-7 in a rough and tumble game with many mistakes on each side. This was at the other teams house also....unbelievable...

Today we are going into the Husker game which will take another miracle to beat Michigan State who has the No. 1 defense in the Nation....If we pull it off we will have the inside track to win our division and a chance to play for the confrence championship against undefeated Ohio State...that will be fun.....not!

I think I will go get the oil changed in the GS this morning and since its going to be 65 or better today may take it into the game.....

Enjoy your weekend Guru's......

I like the idea of a Piss and Ford race. Drink copious amounts of beer. When the shot is fired you run to the port-o-let and take a piss. You grab a beer, run back to your Ford and drink it while you run a lap. Run to the John, grab another beer and jump back in the car for another lap. To make it more competitive you could use GIQ's of Olde English malt liquor that must be consumed before the end of the lap.. I'm sure the sanctioning body of this race would be under a lot of scrutiny. But that's the whole idea. It would be one of the few if not the only race where you could drink and drive legally.

How we did it:

Years ago, in Pennsylvania, my buddy inherited a 9 hole golf course. Since we were under 30, Jimmy had a party almost every week.

Sitting below the deck (and the keg) were 15 golf carts.
We had no rules for laps, it was more like "Hide & Seek" cause it was dark and the 9 holes has no apex curbs, only trees and streams that you couldn't see.

We did find out that:

You CAN put 9 people in one golf cart, but it slows it down.

You CAN roll over a golf cart with 9 people on it without injuries if those 9 people are hammered enough.

The water in the streams is cold at 1 a.m.

If the keg falls out of the cart on the 6th fairway in the dark, it might be hard to find.

You CAN break fiberglass fenders and tell the insurance company that one of the golfers did it.

Ah...youth.
When you’re driving down the highway at night
And you’re feelin’ that wild turkey’s bite
Don’t give johnny walker a ride
Cause jack black is right by your side
You might get taken to the jailhouse and find
You’ve been arrested for driving while blind

Howdy! Gloomy-looking day out there, so I think today is the day that I start ripping up the floor tile. Gotta look at the job a bit more first and let the coffee kick in.

Congrats to your local HS, Marcus! And yes, I hope your Huskers go soften up Michigan State as the Gophers will play them in a couple weeks.

Have a good one, Gurus!

Morning guys...I slept in a bit this morning. I've been watching youtube vids on my CNC machine and how to do things with it.

I need to get around and go out to the shop.

Congrats Marcus, the team that beat us is still in it. Looks like they might also make a run to a state championship.

2014 SEBRING HPDE
April 14-15, 2014

In the past the Sebring 12 Hours marked the start of the ALMS racing season and last year the NCM Sebring HPDE kicked of the Museum’s HPDE program. 2014 promises to be an even more exciting time for the program as we start with Sebring and add in 2 new venues, Summit Point and the NCM Motorsports Park! That’s right the Museum’s own track will now be on everyone’s dance card.

For 2014 we have secured a Monday-Tuesday date that should allow us to present a full program. Once again we will have 3 student groups plus instructor sessions and an expanded Touring Class as well as the Corvette Store on hand. VIP instructors will again be in attendance like Andy Pilgrim, Johnny O and John Heinricy in 2013. Things will kick off on Sunday the 13th with tech in the old paddock and the track officials have promised not to lose the mic for the PA on the next two days.

For those who did not participate in the 2013 Sebring event, one unique aspect is the Touring Class which consists of drivers who have convertibles or who don’t want to run at the unrestricted speeds of an HPDE. These fast but paced laps will give non-DE participants a small taste of the track experience and along with mandatory classroom, a valuable driving lesson to take back to the public streets. For 2014 we will offer an expanded Touring program.

The DE participants will have the full 2 day program they are used to enjoying but a word of caution, those Cobalt drivers also have a Grand Sport in their stable…and you thought they were fast before!
Make sure you are signed onto NCM eNews to get the latest on event registration and updates. On-line registration includes a personalized event hardcard and event t-shirt.

Description Drive your car on the one the most famous race tracks in the world! For two days, legendary Daytona International Speedway will be ours. We will have the FULL Rolex 24 hour road course (3.56 miles), and all cars are welcome! THIS IS A CHARITY EVENT and all payments and proceeds are going DIRECTLY to the charity not Flat Out Motorsports. We are simply sponsoring the track portion of this great event.

There will be 3 run groups for this event. One of the groups will be for Ferrari Challenge cars as there will be a challenge car race each day. The other two groups will be for all other cars and will be split up based on driver experience and car performance potential . Each run group will get FIVE 30 min. sessions per day. Cost for this event is $795 for 2 days and $495 for one day. REMEMBER all payments are going DIRECTLY to charity.

All cars will go through tech inspection done by Ferrari of Central FL. Please have fresh brake fluid and pads on for this event as this is the fastest track in the country. Newer tires are also extremely important, the right rear tire takes the most abuse at this track. SA2005 helmet, long sleeves and long pants are required for this event! No M-Class helmets will be allowed, no exceptions. To be allowed in the Intermediate or Advanced run groups a Nomex suit is REQUIRED. If you are a solo qualified driver that does not have a full suit you will be assigned to the lower run group.

This is a great opportunity to drive on a world class track at a time of the year it is not usually available to the public and the best part is it's all for charity.

We have gotten a group rate of $59/night at the Quality Inn Daytona Speedway located directly across the street from the race track. Just make sure to mention Flat Out Motorsports when making your reservation to get the special rate.

Quality Inn Daytona Speedway
2250 W. International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL.

Track insurance is available for all our events through www.ontrackinsurance.com or http://locktonmotorsports.com/insurance/

Daytona is quite a drive for many of you guys.

My PCA chapter has HPDE routinely at WPB INTL, Sebring and Homestead. Right now my HPDE money has been going into car stereos (3) plus fuel pumps and repairs. We have a possible December Bahamas cruise and we have to save for a summer Alaskan cruise. You can only have so much DNBFS before the account gets low. I blow more than that at the casino on board. One day I'll go to a local event. One day ......... I do have an autocross planned for Jan. 5th but that doesn't really count.

I need to burn leaves, then rake more leaves and burn more leaves. I didn't sleep well and feel like crap. I drank a pepsi and ate a cupcake and am pondering a nap. But I still need to burn leaves. Windy and possible rain tomorrow and rather not let this crap set here another week. I still want a nap.
Decisions, decisions. Oh and I need to go to the grocery store. The Vette's oil needs changed but I need a lift. Bathroom needs cleaned too. I need a husband to rent.

I agree that mean beotch put them there but there's SO many that if I don't get them up I have one heck of a mess in the spring - plus I got three huge pine trees too so there's a whole nuther mess to add to it... too much to mulch over with the mower this time as I waited too late.
Got all that crap done, though and am now sitting here watching Travel channel featuring a wild game restaurant somewhere in Denver called Buckhorn - I want to go there! Did I mention I'm sitting in my 'cave'? I finally got my back bedroom cleaned out too, recliner in here, mini fridge in and stocked all nice and comfy, big burger on my plate, cold one on the coaster beside me - resting...
Cheers to you all..

Awright, I'm gonna sit on my butt for the rest of the evening. I demo'd about 400 sq. ft. of tile, all that's left is to pull out the appliances and the toilet in the powder room to get the few remaining tiles. I am quite pleased with how well the new hammer drill worked.

Evening guys....Worked in the shop all day. Finished up the cabinets for the lady's utility room, finished the doors, sprayed finish on the new pantry door I built, fixed two chairs, cleaned three spray guns, vacuumed the shop, went to church. We had a visiting priest tonight really gave a good sermon. After church we walked on over to a restaurant to have birthday party for our middle daughter, our priest and the visiting one both came in, so I had them sit with us to eat. Very enjoyable evening.

It was a great day here, 75 and light breezes. Tomorrow isn't going to be as nice and by Tuesday almost winter-like.

Now that I'm home I have a couple computers to work on. Better get to it.
