Good morning gang.

We started out warmer today. Temp this morning was 10. We should warm up throughout the day and reach a high in the upper 20's with snow comming later tonight.

Let's see what today brings.

Word of the Day Thursday, January 30, 2014

sessile\ SES-il, -ahyl \, adjective;

1. Zoology . permanently attached; not freely moving.

2. Botany . attached by the base, or without any distinct projecting support, as a leaf issuing directly from the stem.

Origin:

Sessile stems from the Latin word sessilis which had a range of meanings including "fit for sitting on, low enough to sit on, and dwarfish (when referring to plants)." It entered English in the early 1700s.

Good Morning CGs!

The kids enjoyed the show last night. Of course it started late at 7 pm, so they were pretty tired by the end around 8:45. RR#2 was falling asleep in my arms and they zonked out in the car ride home. Still a good time and we will do it again next year.

Not much to report here.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning guys...My back thermometer says 37, something must be wrong with that thing. Not much for today, a ball game after school and a meeting after that, so i guess my evening is spoken for.

I remember those days Matt.

Hidey-ho! We are in the midst of getting 3-6" of snow - what a delightful commute! I believe I reached the blistering speed of 25 mph at one point. Heated wiper blades would be a welcome addition to my car as well - ice chunks on the wipers added to the joy of the commute. I suppose I could've gotten up at 4:15 to get a head start, but I'd just be crabbier.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Yea, boy, will we take it.
I don't mind at all after the months of upper 50's and 60's.
It can do this for the next couple of weeks.

Just so it stops a couple days before the 26th when I have to tow a race trailer over Donner Summit.

Yikes that's still 700 bucks worth.....we have a 500 hundred gal tank which is only filled to 80% so that would be 400 x 3.50 = 1,400 bucks for a month and a half worth of heat. We have a heat pump which does duty on the days over 35 degrees there just hasn't been a lot of those lately.

MR PROPANE TOLD ME AN INTERESTING STORY. WHEN HIS DAD STARTED THE BUSINESS, 20S-30S MAYBE, PROPANE WAS CONSIDERED A WASTE PRODUCT OF REFINING. HE WOULD GO TO ONE OF THE SMALL REFINERIES THAT USED TO DOT OKLAHOMA AND THEY WOULD GIVE IT TO HIM FREE IF HE WOULD HAUL IT OFF.
