Good Morning CGs!

Supposed to be a lovely day on tap weatherwise. Cool now and up in the lower 80s this afternoon.

As I sit here looking out the window, I see my neighbor's backyard. They still haven't cleaned up the tree that fell on their house on 6/30. Seriously. Haven't done a thing. Don't you think it's about time? Besides being an eyesore, it's a safety hazard. They are a-holes.

Maybe I'll take the Vette out for a cruise tonight after work. Seems like a nice treat.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Just me an my spouse heading to the reservation tonight for my free birthday dinner and a couple of hours of gambling. They give me a free dinner and I drop a couple of hundred bucks gambling. Brilliant! Tomorrow might be breakfast with MIL and FIL. Next year is the big celebration as I cross a threshold to the big 6-0. Next year several of us cross that threshold. ..... ..... YOW!

Probably insurance issues. The insurance company probably says it's windstorm related thus not covered (unless they have windstorm coverage). Insurance is a racket.

Happy Birthday Tommy!!!
Think I finally have a weekend of little to no chores, just need a few things from the store and mow my small yard and that should be it. Get the nails done, etc. Kinda cloudy here today - we've had cool weather this week so it's too cool to be out in the pool - plan to get the Vette out and meet the newspaper lady to pick up my check.
Toodles y'all

Happy Birthday, Tommy! I am tipping my coffee cup in your general direction.

We're going to a wedding this afternoon. They'll have lawn games afterward, and a barn dance and bonfire - should be fun. Meanwhile, I installed a folding bed cover on the pickup last night, so I have some modicum of protection/security for whatever's in there. And it's only about 25 lbs. and removes easily.

Enjoy your Saturday, Gurus!

Happy Birthday Tommy

Was a nice day here too. Sunny with a breeze. My project today that was forced on me was the hot water heater sprung a leak and needed to be replaced. Not what I had planned. Well it's all done and we should be good to go for a bit. We scored a month old new replacement from craig's list for half the price of a new one. Tonight me and mrsl get to go out and go bowling.

I agree with you Matt the neighbors should have at least started to get the tree cleaned up.

Right back at work. Doing a 16 hour shift today, joy!

Some bleed over from yesterday.....

As far as the concert goes, OK at best. Age has caught up to the band. They don't move like they used to and the songs dont have the same force behind them as they did 20 years ago. The crowd the same thing, older and worn down.
Was talking to the director of the venue and was surprised that it was less than $25K to book them.

As far as my duty gun goes, we are issued glocks in .40

ttyl time for coffee and donuts!

Done more than one water heater in my time....you scored a deal. I can't believe how much the price went up. Remember when a basic 40 gallon water heater was cheap? Now we have a "high efficiency" one that still only lasts 8 years but costs $800 to replace...for the tank itself no labor.

We spent all afternoon sitting outside in the shade drinking a barley-pop or two. While we were there the funeral home director came by with all the stuff (memorials, donations, guest book, etc. the bill). This evening the brothers, sisters and spouses sat down and went over all the info and we decided to start writing out the "thank you"s. After about 3 hours, we had about 95% done. It's almost unbelievable, the generosity of people. Time, food and money. The entire family, except for one of my granddaughters (who was in Georgia on a church mission trip) and one of Rosie's nephew and his wife (in the Navy), made it home for the funeral. That made the family 62 today. We filled up 8 pews.

Hopefully, this will put an end to this stage of our lives. Thanks to all of you here who have been my sounding board. Sometimes you just need to unload some thoughts. You guys have been great.

That's a great turnout to honor the life of a loved one, tee. Unfortunately more of us will be travelling down this road honoring a loved ones passing. There is a beginning and an end for us all.
