Good Morning CGs!

I have work today then a couple of days off. I might get a chance to pull the a/c compressor apart tomorrow and see if it's just the clutch/pulley bearing that fried. Hopefully that's it and the shaft seal is intact. AC still works, though. I can get a new assembly for about $80 and fix it right on the car. I might see if Pat has any used ones cheap.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Maanin!

We got about 2.5 inches of rain yesterday during the day, and more overnight, and more coming today, and more coming tomorrow. So it looks like the sprinkler system will get a little siesta. I could use a siesta already.

Have a good day, yawlz!

Finally got to see my first live C7 yesterday. I was out buying a printer and looked over and there they were eating at the Chineese place....nice folks from another small village around the area....they really like the car and so did I. They have a 66 Coupe 300 HP 4M at home also. They traded off ao 07 to get the C7....very nice! Paint looked good to me....

Sweet looking C7. How long ago did they trade that off Marcus? And where?

Here I sit after a late rising, my wits not yet about me. Thanks Matt for your morning greeting. You're #1 too. And full of #2.

I had no pressing matters this morning. I put the dogs out at 07:00 and returned to the pillow for an extra couple of hours in the land of nod. I can't remember the last time I did that. Usually I make up for it with an afternoon cat nap. I mean that literally. The cat naps on one pillow and I nap on the other. My energy an motivation levels are very low. A second cup of coffee and a nice warm shower should resolve that.

Glad the sump repair was minor, Marcus. I bet your wife is glad you will smell better, too

I have seen a ton of C7s around here. A few at the car event I went to yesterday. Lots and lots of fast, fast cars. All turbo and supercharged. The guy who was organizing the charity event brought his c6 zr1. Lots of car envy going on!

Drove the Vette today, I will address the ac later.

Afternoon guys...morning meeting done. Not as bad as the all day meeting last Thursday. New principal sounds like a good guy, we'll see....

This afternoon I've got some things to do here in the shop.

56 ain't bad, don't let numbers mess with you.

While in my meeting this morning my phone goes off (I had it on vibrate ). Once out of the meeting I look at the number and don't recognize it. It's a third call from the same guy, about my Corvette...... Asking insurance questions, more detailed questions about the car. I think (hope) I have a live one on the hook. We're going to get together after he gets off work so he can take a closer look/take it for a drive, etc.

OK guru's. Here is a guru challenge.

I have a John Deere L130 automatic lawn mower with a rear mounted gas tank under the seat frame. It has debris in the bottom of the tank that I can clearly see. Outside of disassembling the lawn mower, removing the tank and flushing it (lots of labor and disassembly involved) can you think of a way to suck out the bottom of the tank safely. Of course you can't use a shop vac. There is about 12 ounces of fuel in the tank. Any ideas on how to remove the debris safely? I have a hand operated pump that might get some of it. Clock starts ticking ......... now.

Yeah, I'd get as much as possible out with a hand pump, then maybe use a rope or something else to wick up anything left. Once it's dry, maybe you can vacuum up the junk.

Also, isn't there a drain or hose on the bottom of the tank you could disconnect to drain it?

Tommy first get some beers....these are for your friends when they come over. You will need 4 husky guys or 2 Husker guys....(Go Big Redneck) Take a chair with you I'm sure you have plenty....If using 4 guys have each grab a corner lift and flip mower over....open gas tank filler lid and have them shake the gas out on the ground. When it is empty have them shake the hell out of the mower until all the crap falls out also....Reverse the above to set mower on the ground, refill with fresh gas and then choose one of them to mow while the others drink beer until it is their turn to mow while you sit and drink a very cold Busch N/A.........any questions.....always works for me.....

This is easy. You get in your pick up with 4 guys (or 2 Husker guys) and drive to the grocery store. Load up on cases of water and NA beer. Call the electrician or plumber.

Well, I got good news....I'm 95% sure that I sold the Corvette today. Four phone calls, then he came to look at it. Looked it over pretty good for about 45 minutes, then we went for a 20 mile drive. He'll let me know tomorrow.

Cross your fingers for me guys.

Marcus, check that switch out again, maybe it kicked the breaker again.

Tommy, it's easy. Run it in reverse and the gas will come out the opposite way as you put it in to run forward

Then light a match and drop it in since it's dark down there. Then you can see if it is empty....

I would drain it with a hand pump, then use some old towels or paper towels and stuff them down with a broom stick to soak up the rest. Then use a vacuum and maybe compressed air to blow the stuff out.

Or you could remove the tank and do it the right way
