Waongela! There's frost on the pumpkin this morning. Probably on a bunch of other stuff, too. I spiffed up the Vette a bit last night in preparation of putting it away either tonight or tomorrow. I don't think I put 1000 miles on it this year. Meanwhile, I am glad that the weekend is in sight.

Enjoy your Friday, Gurus.

Morning guys...Yea, I know what you mean Tommy. I went to put in the printer the other day and couldn't get it to load right for the life of me. Took WAY longer than it should have. Got kids coming in, so better go for now.

Good Morning CGs!

RR#1 now got sick last night, as well. Puking all night long. Wife said she isn't feeling too hot, either. Oh joy.

Good morning gang.

Day off today. Looks to be partly cloudy and temps in the 50's.

Word of the Day Friday, October 10, 2014

ci-devant \ seeduh-VAHN \, adjective;

1.French . former: used especially in reference to a retired officeholder.

Origin:

Ci-devant comes from the French word of the same spelling which literally means "heretofore."

Today is NATIONAL ANGEL FOOD CAKE DAY

Resized Image

The delicious, light and fluffy goodness is the center of attention on National Angel Food Cake Day, celebrated each year on October 10.
*
Originating in the United States and first becoming popular in the late 19th century, angel food cake was so named because of its airy lightness. It was said to be the “food of the angels”.
*
Making angel food cake requires whipping egg whites until they are stiff then adding cream of tartar to the mixture to stabilize the egg whites. Additional ingredients are then folded into the egg white mixture.

The cake is usually baked in an un-greased tube pan leaving a hole in the middle of the cake. The center tube allows the cake batter to rise higher as it clings to all sides of the pan. After baking, the pan is then inverted while cooling to prevent the cake from falling in on itself.

Rather than frosting, angel food cakes are often topped with a glaze or a sweet fruit sauce and a swirl of whipped cream.

Have a happy National Angel Food Cake Day !

Cool, cloudy and drizzly today, but I'll take it. Tomorrow morning is the cross country meet. I can't wait to have those fine young kids coming through the finish line puking on my shoes.

Matt, I hope the crap runs it's course quickly. Brad, 1000 miles is not anywhere near enough. I'v only had the 007 a little over a month and I've put more than that on it. You got to get it out and drive it more.

It ain't over yet, Brad. I;m hoping that we can take one of the first two in Baltimore. Ran over to the "city" and picked up the new stove and some supplies to hook it up. Then back to the neighboring town to do some volunteer work at their football game. Then on home to swap out the old for the new, deliver the old one to the daughters' house and then come home to finish hooking up our new stove. All the time I'm listening to the game. Top of the ninth we'll see how this plays out.
