Good mawnin

We have a guy coming over this morning to replace the sink and toilet in the master bath and do some mods in the shower wall. Sue wants insets for the shampoo, cream rinse and soap. There was really nothing wrong with the way it was but you know women. They like change. A man would have made it last a lifetime or more.

Morning guys....A nice rain last night cooled things down considerably. Only supposed to make a high of 68 today. Nice break from the hot we've been having.

A couple steps backward on the project yesterday and had to take a wall out to modify after having some sheetrock up. We laid the shower base into place only to find it sitting right on top of two floor joists where the drain has to go. So a little figuring and we find if we move one wall about 2 1/2" it will work much better....so I take that wall out before coming home. Today I'll make the change and put the wall back in.

Doesn't a shower base have a lot to do with PLUMBING?

Bored out of my skull right now. Nothing going on at work, looking for things to do.

Now if I waas at home... Plenty waiting for me to do there. Both cars desperately need a bath, lawn and garden work await, general chores to do. Planning to get lots done this weekend, now watch it rain.

Tonight I may treat myself to a movie, "Jurassic World" looks inviting.

If anyone wants to read a fun book, pick up "What's So Funny?". It is Tim Conway's memoirs. A good entertaining read.

I added that book to my Amazon list, will have to check it out. Tim Conway's always been a favorite. I have a couple Dave Barry books on the list I need to order, too.

Good afternoon, all!

A disgustingly hot (91 and rising), humid (75%), and smoggy (orange air alert) day in the Philadelphia area.

Took the 2003 'vert through state inspection this morning. Grace, of course, had no issues—up to 43,750 miles now, so we drove her at least somewhat more last year.

Prepping to watch Le Mans starting tomorrow morning—we're already down one car in GTE Pro after Jan Magnussen hit both sides of the track with the #63 car during qualifying (he's okay—it looks like something broke). So, I'll root for the #64 car in GTE Pro and the "privateer" #50 car in GTE Am. In LMP1 I'm largely ambivalent, though I might lean toward the Porsches, especially that magnificent Bernhard, Webber, Hartley #17 team. In LMP2, I'm pulling strongly for the #40 Krohn Racing entry (Krohn, Jonsson, Barbosa). I'll be providing my usual Guru-specific and spoilers-heavy coverage.

Well, we are back to where we were before the malfunction, actually a little past that point. Ended up being not to bad to fix the problem. Without the Fein (sonic cutting tool), it would have been a MUCH BIGGER job. I don't know what we did before those tools came out.

Was home at noon and did the post above. Then apparently I forgot to submit, or maybe I did submit and it didn't take. All the sheetrock is hung, most of the plumbing is done (NOT BY ME ). I've decided that tomorrow I'm going over to put a little tape and mud in the shower area to get a head start on that area so we can install shower walls Monday. So I'll do that tomorrow while Rosie and her sister take nieces/nephews to swim meet.

My butt is dragging again tonight.

We scored some really nice teak tables that need a little fine tuning (sanding and teak oil). These tables retail $$$$. They spread and have 2 table extension leaves. We got them from the Habitat for Humanity Resource Center. Kind of like a Goodwill for construction and home stuff donated from local stores, overstocks, close outs and so on.
Paid $300 for 1, $200 for 2 more and 150 for one that needed more serious work. I have them all assembled now. A light sanding needed on all. The cheapest one was missing parts. 2 legs a support and a cross brace. It could have been put on two pedestals but noooooooooo. Sue had some wood cut and I threw it all together. Looks good but the legs, cross member and support aren't teak. The table is a mutt. Can't complain. Still a steal of a deal for a buck and a half. The $300 one is going to one of Sue's friends. I know the two $200 ones are probably staying here. The other one will probably end up in some remote corner of the yard or back by the nursery. It would make a pretty fancy potting table.

Yes, teak table are $$$$$ normally. Sounds like a good score, Tommy.
