So I finally picked up a replacement box for my too small Craftsman. Everyone knows I like pro quality stuff...picked this up from a retiring mechanic. It was used in a shop environment and moved a lot so it has dings, scrapes, etc, but for the price I couldn't say no. The pictures are deceiving, this box is 56" wide and almost 30" deep. Snap On KRL1001.
The drawers are huge and they have full extension and slide great. I snapped a picture when I started filling it up to show the volume of the drawers: Box is almost full, but I'm sure I can find some room for new tools as they come |

I stopped at HF and picked up a set of these drawer organizers on sale for $8.99 + 20% off. They are surprisingly good quality and fit well in the tool box. They are a three piece set so there are separated and you can move them how you like. The other organizer trays were one piece. These are pretty tall, so they don't fit in shallow drawers.

So I got some of these to organize my plier drawers:
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200365376_200365376 (They are cheaper on different sites, that's just a link) How mine turned out: I also got this bad snap on ratcheting screwdriver: I needed a plastic riveter to put a license plate bracket on: I bought some HF magnetic tool strips to organize my screwdriver drawer: Picked up this really nice set of Gearwrench long pattern wrenches in small to big sizes: Comparison: More on the way? |

My trimmer base is 4cycle so no mixing. I have a country mart fuel outlet next to work with 91 octane alcohol free gas.

I started buying the premix in a can as well. Has preservatives in it, high octane, worth the high price IMO. Mixing small amounts of gas is such a pain. If you prepare too much, it just sits and starts going bad. I'd run high octane in all that stuff regardless, siphon it from the motorcycle. I just picked up a set of these... been needing them for awhile and the home depot stuff has crappy holders (trying to conserve plastic? wtf?), probably crappy metal too. So tired of fishing through my scrap pile of loose hex wrenches. I guess Bondhus, Wiha, and Wera are the desirable brands. You can spend $75+ on a set of these if you're serious. I've used this brand for small sizes for RC stuff, and it's held up very well even for ball ends. There's also a set that's color coded. They seemed a little too long though. |

Yeah I guess so. Mine failed. Probably eaten by brake fluid somehow. Wondering if I should rebuild it or dump it. It's the fancy aluminum one.
It comes with a fluid reservoir so it should only be sucking air. Annoying anyways since it will always find a way to suck air past the bleeder threads making it impossible to tell when you've got all the air out. A positive pressure bleeding method is the only way to go. |

On that note I bought a 1/2" crapsman ratchet with swivel head, to keep in my truck for the non-oem lugnuts.
Made in China, complete garbage. The mechanism feels like it has 6 teeth in it, plus slop and doesn't feel right when you flip the lever on it. Craftsman ratchets have never been good since I can remember, but now, don't even bother. I only went there because I had a gift card. I hate sears. The chinese stuff is all mixed in now, you have to check each socket, etc to see where it's from. I guess they make this piece in the USA still but none in the store were. I finally got aggravate enough to buy new needle nose pliers, Channellock seems to be the highest regarded for pliers in general. Nothing worse than pinching the web of your hand in the pliers because they twisted and slipped of something. Later I'll pick up the entire set. A little hard to pick up a tool for $25 when there's a bunch of $5 ones next to it calling your name. I would avoid buying needle nose pliers online though. The ones in the store were not all equal, the tips don't line up on some of them. |

My kids got me the harbor freight rotohead 3/8 ratchet for my bday last week. Surprisingly nice quality and felt good in my hand for the few bolts I used it on.
I won't buy any Chinese craftsman. I'd rather go to HF and get better Taiwan stuff for cheaper. |

Pick up a replacement stone for it. I have that model only much older, they changed the design of the stone and I can't get a replacement. The only slight problem with that model is orienting very small bits in the holder, usually takes a pair of needle nose pliers to spin the bit. Other than that, it's one of the best tools I've bought. Really easy to use, saved my good bits (Dewalt). I've probably sharpened some of those bits 30 times. I've used it so much that the stone's almost shot. |

That's a nice push mower. I have used a similar model since 2009. Has the Kohler engine instead of the Honda. Only mod is I installed a fuel cut off valve in line. I put in a new air filter, sharpen the blade and I change the oil with Rotella every season.... wash it off after every use. Never a problem out of it until this season when I started letting my step son cut the grass.... he hasn't been cutting the fuel cut off and running the bowl dry.... ethanol fuel crystalized and stopped the carb up 2x this season already. Of course he doesn't wash it either. Also have a Husky Trimmer and Chainsaw. Love Husky lawn and power equipment. Given reasonable care it last a long time. Will |
