Good Morning CGs!

Had a nice time at the wedding last night. Saw a lot of family (wife's side) and got to chat a bit. It was a small wedding (by our standards) with about 150-180 people. That's the perfect size if you ask me. Food was good and the libations abounded. I was the driver so I was not partaking in the shot passing ritual. Kids had fun and were worn out at the end of the night. We left around midnight.

Sister and family are leaving this afternoon to head home, so we'll stop and see them first.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning guys....we are off to the "city" to pick up some things we need for the kitchen project. TExturing the ceiling this afternoon. Got a former student who is a contractor/handyman coming over to help. Got to get going.

Matt, the wedding sounds like the ones we have in our family, fun, but sometimes I over did things (I'm better now that I've matured and have better sense )

God morning!
It's been a while since I've posted due to the work, family, projectS eating up my time. Yesterday I finally got the bottom end of the 383 buttoned up, then got the heads on. I'm gonna have to determine my pushrods length and then the long block will be done. Not sure what to do with the valve covers, but I'll probably get them as grease/oil free then sand and paint them.

I hope you all have a great holiday w'kend and a SAFE one, too.

...Tee I'm thinking we need some other proof on that more mature and better sense thing.......you know like some references......

Well there was bad news on the doorstep this morning as the Sunday paper arrived with many articles on how we blew the game yesterday.....On yesterdays post Bill nailed it when he referenced the fact that with 40 seconds left we had the ball and could not get a first down to save our ass....if we had game over.......it is true uh huh.......take a few days for this to quit stinging.......UBoy was despondent...as were about a million others....Husker football runs deep in our DNA.....

Today some chores and keep watering everything......hot again with south winds........should break today then 70's all next week.....

Have a good day Guru's...

Greetings!

It is currently 91% humidity, and I don't believe it is supposed to get any better, so I predict a lot of sitting around doing nothing. I think it is supposed to rain more later, too. I do need to root through the store-room anyway, to see if I can find some old pictures to bring to a family reunion next weekend. We're meeting some relatives of my great-grandmother's family who have been looking for us for 30 years.

Bummer, Brian!

Have a good day, all!

Good morning, all. A beautiful early September day in the Philadelphia area.

Marcus, you were the first person I thought as we watched the end of that game yesterday. At least there's the rest of the season to go ...

... I can't believe it, but I actually have "appointment viewing" to watch NASCAR tonight, for only the third time this year (Daytona 500 and Coca Cola 600 were the others). They've brought the Southern 500 at Darlington back to its proper Labor Day date and almost everybody is going full retro. There are the expected old school paint schemes (Miller High Life, Vavoline, Mello Yello, STP, a Buddy Baker tribute, a David Pearson style car, a T I D E car) but Goodyear is also white-lettering the tires, NBC is using the old peacock logo, and they'll have Ken Squier and Ned Jarrett up in the booth for at least a little while. Should be fun.

Now, if they would only go back to the rules package they had then (with the new safety features).

And........at the end of the Formula 1 race in Monza today, when the drivers were on the podium........the guy interviewing them was........George Lucas?

While I was out and about yesterday, I saw a couple of interesting vehicles. First, a light blue and white '57 Ford Ranchero - don't see too many of them around. Very much like this one:

Then I saw an old Lexus LS400 with extreme negative-camber wheels. I'll bet it handled like a dream

At least they are acknowledging their glory days. I will say that the current generation car is more real than the previous one, so they are heading in the right direction—if stunningly slowly.

Don't know if any of you know this but I'm not a big fan of Florida's summer. It's hot and humid. We should see some relief coming soon though .......... like maybe in November. In summer everything grows overnight around here which means my home duties never end. The landscape, the pond and general maintenance jobs are unrelenting. I had everything tightened up for the party and before I went on vacation. I've been playing catch up ever since I got back. Looks like I could get caught up by the end of the week. I think I've already lost the weight I gained on the cruise. Time to move onward and back outside to the free sauna .......

Hey guys, long day here and not so great for some of you out there either. Huskers....what can I say? Tough loss. Looking for a new coach yet Marcus? Steve, man you were lucky!. Haven't seen a Ranchero of that era in a long time, there's a 70 running around here at times. Brian, that just stinks. Brad, it was warm here, but no where near the humidity you had.

After about 4 hours, we got the ceiling textured. Not what I was expecting, but looks really good. I was expecting a heavier texture, but Rosie wanted a light texture, so guess who won? Rosie is happy...and that's what counts. Let it dry overnight and we'll roll on the primer coat tomorrow. Then maybe we'll get it painted in the afternoon.
