Good Morning CGs!

We've got some pretty torrential rain here. Started last night around 10 and continued all night long. Supposed to get more today. But it's not white and I don't have to shovel it, so I'm ok.

Been busy the past few days but I have a few days off after today to get some projects around the house done, etc. Looking forward to it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Greetings! Gloomy and rainy here again, and they mentioned the "s" word for tomorrow. I consider any snow we get at this point to be free fertilizer. In more ways than one.

Morning guys...truck with materials here today. Then I am helping to stain and finish some doors and trim for a project next week. Was really windy and cool yesterday, a little warmer today, and less windy. They have the 's' word in our forecast for tomorrow as well, but I ain't worried. The thing about snow this time of year, is I know it won't last long, and like Brad says, it's free fertilizer. I actually hope we get it.

Good morning.

Upon further review, the functionality of the roof has not been impeded and the difference is primarily a minor cosmetic difference. Therefore it is ruled that the roof panels will stay in place and work will continue from where the last screw was inserted.

By changing the panels I might actually do more harm than good so I'm gonna leave them unless I HAVE to change them. I'm not gonna spend a lot of time on the roof looking at it anyway. The difference was I placed the side with the flat bottom out. The flat bottom side should be inside and under. You might see it in this pic. My concern was that a high wind could get under it and flip it. I'm thinking if the wind speed is that high that roof panel will be the least of my concerns. Those little panels are tucked 6 inches under the panel on top of it and held by 4 screws.

Just got back from a Florida Keys delivery Left at 7:00 got home by 09:30. Alright, break is over. Back to work.

Sunny and pretty here today, very windy late yesterday and on into last night. Figures the days I'm working it's 82 and beautiful and the days I'm off on the weekends it's projected to be 59 and windy/cloudy with lows in the 30's. Appears that the white bird plant will be going back into the house. Nice - now that I've discovered ants are living in it. Two days of nightly lows in the mid-upper 30s and just when all my flowers are trying to come out and bloom.
No work to speak of at the job today so I'm at the computer trying to look busy.

Started working on a set of antique windows. I cleaned em up and washed them. I have to reset the glass, paint and frame the windows. Later frame the spot where they are going in the shed.

I love those. There's a hundred year old house here a friend of mine bought to turn into a 13-bed 'home' for disadvantaged women as a transition house. She gave me 6 of their old windows. Going to hang them in the openings of my front porch with a curtain above them and apply stained glass film. Mine aren't the paned ones like you have but solid. Wanted the panes but locally they run $20 each which isn't bad but these were free. Leaving the old paint and hardware on them

Tommy, is the roof pitched at all? If so, I'd want the lower panels under to prevent water intrusion. If not, it won't really matter.

Marcus - glad mom is doing better.

The lower panels ARE 6" under the higher panel. Yes, it's pitched. 5 1/2 inches higher on one end over 16 ft. The shed sheds water. It was the overlap valleys on the panels I got wrong. They all still overlap only I should have put the panel under the preceding one but mistakingly I put it on top which left 1/3 " of flat metal exposed. You should not see that 1/3rd " piece. It should be underneath, hidden. All the panels are interlocked. It's a cosmetic difference. I went up and looked at it good today and figured the fix may cause more damage than just leaving it alone. You don't want more holes in the roof than you have to have and I really don't want to fix something that doesn't have to be fixed. Blow it up and look close. You'll see what I'm talking about. The black lettering should not be seen. To the left of the black lettering you can see the little flat metal that runs the length of the panel. NBD.

LOL. It still bugs me .... I might just go ahead and fix it right and patch whatever little holes I made. I like things perfect.

Not much going on here. Weather is nice but the battery is dead in the 72... won't take a charge either. Has a 2013 date sticker on it.... Seems everything is junk these days. Sucks as I'd like to drive the car a little.

Got a few projects completed, a few still in progress and one still in the planning stage... of course real work still keeps me super busy.

Not enough time in the days it seems.
