I wanted to kick it off before I went to bed. A property that we were trying to buy previously resurfaced on the market under the new owner. The new owner got a steal of a deal on the purchase. The deal we were shooting for but got boxed out by the realtor. Anyway, they offered it at 100k. We offered 75. Settled at 78 and we'll pay the closing through our attorney. I want to be sure there are no hidden dragons so his office will do the title search, draw up the contracts and hold the funds in escrow till the close. Paid more than we wanted to but still paid fair market price. We're buying a 1.15 acre parcel adjacent to the current and original nursery. Both parcels together will be about 2 1/4 acres giving us room for expansion. When we eventually sell, both parcels being together will have great appeal on the current market or we can sell the entire business at some point. We have an offer on the second nursery property 1 street over. If we sell that one all the plants there will be transported to the new property. Sounds a lot like work .... doesn't it?Also, we need an experienced office worker that will take care of walk in sales. We lost our last one. She wanted to be a stay at home mom. The hunt continues for a viable candidate. I haven't been doing too much on the sales front. I hate doing sales. Too much like going back to work and I don't want that. Well, that's enough out of me guys. Hope you have a fruitful day.

Good Morning CGs!

Friday and looking forward to the weekend, right?

Kids have school this evening and wife is at work, so I have a couple of hours this afternoon to be a bachelor. Not sure what's on tap yet. Greasy food and loose women? Well, probably not the second part.

Tommy, the Vette has a minor leak at the power steering low pressure line and reservoir port (that's my best guess just from peeking at it). I need to get that apart and fixed. Just haven't had time.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Tommy, if that car were in fact 6500, looks like you could "de-gawdy" it and have a nice driver cheap.

Hidey-ho! There are rumors of more sunshine, so I dragged the Vette out of the garage for the first time in a while. I should fix the SES light one of these days, it's been on most of the summer. It needs a new check valve in the AIR plumbing, and I have one in a box somewhere. When I get a round tuit, I'll hunt for it.

Good luck with the property, Tommy,

Enjoy your Friday, Gurus!

Morning guys....Yea this is a real early start, and lots of activity too. I go and get my flu shot here pretty quick and then work in the shop. GS #1 headed for Dallas to see his girlfriend yesterday afternoon. Got about an hour and a half away and blew a tire. Put the spare on and made it about another 2 miles and it blew (low pressure). Had a tire place come out and put one new tire on, $158. I called him later and asked about his spare and he tells me, "They asked if they could have the spare, so I gave it to them." "WTF are you going to do for a spare now?" I have to call the place here pretty soon and probably make the trip down to get it back.

We have homecoming tonight, so I'll be running the clock.

Got to go. I'll check in again later.

Tee, seems to me it would save time and money to just go buy a replacement spare from a recycler.

Ring ...... Ring ...... "You DON'T have to do the delivery this morning. We got it all in one truck." ..... Whoo-hoo!

In Bradenton Fl. news. Mother returned from Toronto and the my family in Bradenton had something special for her. As mentioned recently my mother (90) bought a condo in the next building over from hers. It's pretty much the exact same unit she was renting. While she was away the family got together and moved ALL her stuff to the new unit and set it up just like it was in the rental. Mama was in shock and brought close to tears when my sister told her "We have a surprise for you." Everything had been moved. My mother is a sweet and caring person and still lives independently. I doubt she'll ever go back to assisted living but one never knows. She still walks, sings and dances through life with occasional trips to the ER. She's like a Timex. "Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin." Love ya, Ma.

SUNNY AND COOL THE LAST DAY OF SEPTEMBER, ANOTHER PRETTY FALL DAY ON TAP. COOL AT NIGHT, WARM IN THE DAYTIME IS JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT. THE CHEROKEES AGREE.

HAD DEER IN THE YARD YESTERDAY AFTERNOON TWO DOES & THREE FAWNS. ONE OF THE DOES WAS SMALL, SURELY THIS CAN'T BE THE SAME LITTLE DOE THAT USED TO TURN UP WITH TWINS YEAR AFTER YEAR.

WE USED TO HAVE DEER IN THE YARD, EATING THE SHRUBBERY, BROADCASTING TICKS, ALL THE TIME. THEN SOME OF THE NEIGHBORS STARTED LETTING THEIR DOGS RUN LOOSE. IT BECAME VERY RARE TO SEE ANY AFTER THAT.

What is with Lambo doors on a Corvette? Not a fan........I would love them if I had a Lambo....

Matt put some duct tape on that and keep going......no problems....

Today the lawn and other chores and maybe haul a big truck load......

Have an enchanting day Guru's.....

Yea, Tommy, that's what I ended up doing. A new tire (little donut) is like $50. The guy said the wheel was bent so they threw it on the scrap pile. I called the recycler on the way to the 'city' and they said they had one for $50, I told him, I'll be by to get it. Saved me from driving 3 hours (total) buying a tire ($50) and having it mounted ($20). I came out way ahead.

Very cool, Tom - they don't make 'em like that anymore, or so I thought ;-)

Meanwhile, more vintage, sort of:
