Good Morning CGs!

We are having some miserable, torrential downpours right now. Had some lightning/thunder around 5 am that was so strong it shook the entire house and woke up the kids. Pretty crazy. Granted it's no hurricane, but pretty strong nonetheless.

Had a little bday party for RR#2 last night. His bday was a couple of weeks ago but this is the first weekend we could do it. Mostly family and a couple of friends. It was a nice time. Kid made out like a bandit, of course. He's happy. That's all that matter.

How is the weekend so far?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning guys...I slept in again. Not like Brad, but 8:20 is pretty good for me. It's clear and cool to start the day, but it is supposed to get near record highs today, into the lower 90s. Got a big day planned for tomorrow, changing our the electrical panel in the shop. So, today I am going to have to go out and clean stuff up around the area where we will be working, cut out a big section of sheetrock, so we can get to the top and bottom of the old and new panels, then lay stuff out. #2 BF is going to be over to help me (electrician by trade) run the three new circuits into the attic and fish them down the wall.

Lots to do. I trust everyone here will have a great day. Hoping to hear good news from Bill about the fires.

Sleeping in must be the order of the day. I gave it a noble attempt but only made it to 08:50. Hit the hay around 10:30. I'd say that's a pretty good effort for me. Rain projected at times throughout the day. Guess I'll straighten out inside the house a little. Sue is out staffing a booth at the local Grow Fest. I am in charge ... here ... at the Casey house ....... ( I can hardly wait for the snide remarks )

I kinda like being a Deplorable, that's what we need a majority of Deplorable's in this country........

It's very foggy here today and cooler........I noticed this as I sat up in bed to adjust the pillow.....good morning to sleep in......had to get the morning paper to read about the Huskers win against Indiana yesterday......a nail biter for sure but we prevailed and now are 6 - 0 for the first time since 2001....are you kidding me.....that was a long time ago....

Have a slow day Guru's......Bill hope the fires are out.......

Looks like it's been light rain all night.

20% containment posted on the web but the info on the local news website sucks and not much on the fire command web sites. So, I don't know if we're still on prep for evac.

I do feel WAY better though.

Certainly feel bad for the people who lost their homes.
Those homes were up in the tree line and were expensive places, just below that were upscale horse properties.
The Captain and Tennille's is right there.

They had a controlled burn there 5-6 days ago and that may have started this thing.

Probably more so because people are stupid or lazy.
Way more fires here from people's camp sites, kids with matches, people shooting guns where they shouldn't.

I guess the controlled burns usually work, getting the fast burning fuel out from under the trees, etc. But, I seen them cause fires too.

Heck, the last one was caused by an idiot who threw wood stove ashes in a garbage can during high winds. Same valley, came roaring towards us. My neighbor and I stood looking at the ridge to the south and said, "if we see flames there, we're gone.
dense smoke, 6 highway patrol cars came down the street, lights and sirens on.
Then the wind shifted 180, never seen the wind shift like that.

2 of these in 30 years is 2, two many for me.

Rain is dying down but is supposed to return by 11 a.m.

Hiya, Gurus! Had a nice time last night, a small gathering, and it was nice enough to spend most of the evening out on the deck. Lots to clean up this morning, already made a pretty good dent in that. A quiet football Sunday, since the Vikings are on hiatus.

Hope the rain does the trick, Blll.

Have a good day, all!

Yea, I don't know if that is good or bad but at least they are over fairly quick. Fire and hurricanes blow your nerves due to the waiting.

Tornados, Fire, Hurricanes, Donny and Hallerious , all are just a plague.

Thanks for the well wishes.

GLAD THE RAIN CAME THROUGH FOR YOU AND YOUR NEIGHBORS, BILL.

IT'S A SUNNY 80 DEGREES HERE THIS AFTERNOON, SUPPOSED TO BE HOTTER TOMORROW. I INITIATED MY IMMEDIATE ACTION DRILL: TURNED ON THE AC AND TOOK A NAP :-)

HOW'S THAT WORKING OUT, STEVE? ALL THE COMPETITION SKEET GUYS HATE SHOOTING IN OKLAHOMA. THE WIND MAKES IT TOO SPORTING; MESSES UP THEIR GROOVE. WE DILETTANTES JUST THINK IT MAKES IT MORE FUN.

Raining in Santa Cruz CA the last few days, heaviest rain Sunday (10-16).
Radar storm track indicates wet weather headed your way (Reno).

Rooting for a deluge, BillH.

It's been raining non-stop.

I have a little lake in the front yard.

Of course, now there's a "Flash Flood Warning" over by the fire.

The rain let up but it was overcast all day. Kind of a bummer. But I did drive the vette. I plan on driving it every day now until it snows. Gotta get my fix before winter.

Which do you prefer? Lakefront property or a touch of hell? I'd take the waterfront.

Tommy, it is Interesting you wrote "a touch of hell". As others have written,
Bill's property is so close, he can see Sparks.

Ha, I can't even see Reno from my deck which is a very good thing.
