Morning guys...It's a pretty nice start to the day. Not sure why Tommy is up so early, I hope he makes it through the day, might have to take a nap.

It's 50 now and headed to upper 70s. No rain yet, but they say we should get some.

Not a lot on the agenda, we'll just take it as it comes. I have a few things to do in the shop, but nothing really pressing. I have Station of the Cross at 7pm and a church council meeting after. Busy week for church services.

Well, I better got to doing something. I hope you all have a great day.

Well boys and girl.....I have successfully made my 67th journey around the sun today........the earth travels 584 million miles per lap.....so 584 mil times 67 laps = 39,128,000,000.........trillion miles or whatever it is.......its a very large number......no wonder I am tired at night.....

Have to work today but still will find some nap time.....tomorrow I am going to Kansas to take my Mom over to an eye specialist in Topeka. I am thinking about taking the Corvette.......even if it rains......that's the way you get when you get to my age....just drive the damn thing.....I can clean it up later.....

Hmmm......my be feeling like a morning nap right now........have a grand day Guru's........

CLEAR AND MILD IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, A FINE SPRING DAY.

THAT TAXI STORY IS FIRST DEGREE WEIRD!

NOTHING ON THE AGENDA TODAY, MAYBE A LITTLE CLEAN UP ON THE BUMBLEBEE. IT FEELS A BIT MORE SOLID ON THE ROAD AFTER THE SUSPENSION WORK.

Very unusual story, Tommy.

Marcus, happy birthday!

Don, very sharp 05 you posted yesterday. I hope you enjoy it!

Kids helped me work on the car last night. I let them take the bolts out of the side panel so I could pull the battery. After that I was cleaning up and putting my new wrenches away. Samantha decided she wanted to count how many I had. She ended up around 250. I didn't tell her that didn't include adjustables, pipe wrenches, and my travel/work bags On that topic, here are the new fillers for you Marcus:

 photo 20170411_202319.jpg

A little more used than my existing set, but the series matches:

 photo 20170411_202458.jpg

Not sure if I mentioned it, but I installed one of those doorbell cameras the other day. Pretty nifty and works well.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Birthday, Marcus.

My mom got out of the hospital yesterday. Apparently suffered a mini stroke late last week, has a urinary tract infection and is suffering from congestive heart failure. One of her heart valves is leaking. It's been going on for awhile and is not new news and has just progressed a little. She keeps plugging along. Doctors are trying to control her situation with medication to the best of their ability.

Widely scattered showers today so it's making work outside difficult. Have enough to do inside so no big deal. Seize the day ........... or don't.

People in the Florida Keys sometimes think they can just cut down whatever they want in their yards. They soon find out they were wrong. Here is a list of trees and plants that MUST be replaced by the homeowner and no doubt will have to pay a fine as well. Monroe County has aerial photos of the entire county. We get several restoration jobs a year due to homeowner negligence. Thank you very much. 2-3 day job.

Happy Birthday, Marcus!
mkay, say I have one of those plants and I live in the Keys and don't like it's location in the yard, could it simply be relocated? Why are the plants regulated like that?
Beautiful and sunny here the next few days - while I'm at work... soon as I"m off rain is scheduled. Made the visit to the pool store where the previous owner pre paid our new part that was broken. It should be here soon. I actually got in the thing Sunday. Little cold but okay after a minute. Maybe I was just hot after putting out mulch and messing in the flower beds. Ready to have a weekend of nothing else to do but enjoy some Rand R.
Happy Hump Day y'all

It's actually ecologically beneficial to maintain the sensitive environment of the Florida Keys. Building is strictly regulated. There is no chopping down mangroves (fish hatchery). Native trees support native species plus provide cover, prevent erosion and the list goes on. I'm surrounded by national parks. Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park as well as county and state parks. Places of great natural beauty. If it were left to the developers it would be a sky high concrete canyon from West Palm Beach to Key West. That would super suck. The fewer people the better.

Letty, you could call the biologist and he would tell you whether you could relocate it or maybe chop it down and plant another or the same type tree in another part of your property. Non native, invasive trees are not protected.

This might better explain it.

Well, guys it was a very unproductive day. Didn't get much of anything done. And my Royals are off to a bad start to the season, sh!tty actually. I'm thinking we might be back to our old ways.

That supper sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen Marcus. Instead of eating all that bad stuff, send it my way and I'll take care of it for you.

What is the genus/species of the Mahogany trees Tommy? Are they genuine Mahogany? Swietenia mahagoni?

And if that didn't answer it .....

http://lee.ifas.ufl.edu/Hort/GardenPubsAZ/Mahogany.pdf

Back to the tree protection aspect ......

"In South Florida, it occurs in high coastal
hardwood hammocks, often in dry, rocky
sites, in full sun or nearly full sun. Naturally
occurring stands have become increasingly
rare due to development and harvesting for its
valuable timber. In fact, Mahogany is under legal
protection in Florida. It is on the state’s Endangered
and Threatened list."

Pretty sure we grow it at the nursery.

I've seen that online a few times while looking up stuff for us to use. The lady at the pool place here scolded me on using "big box store" chemicals telling me they're not as potent and contain other chemicals that are dangerous to the saltwater system. I figured she was just blowing smoke to make me buy hers. I can read a label to understand the potency. Her issue with 'other chemicals' I'm not so sure about. I don't want to damage the thing. She tells me this new 'salt cell' we're getting is replacing one that was only 2.5 years old to start with. She said the prev owner didn't do his chemicals right and that's what ruined it.
I'd rather pay less if I could from somewhere like Leslie if I'm getting the same stuff
