Nothing really to say, I just that my KYBs arrived Yesterday.
My new scissor type regulator is here as well. To be consistent, I need to let these sit around for about three weeks. I seem to "think" about the job for that period of time before installing....I'll post up the results when I get them installed. |

May I ask you to take some measurements on the shocks?
Fully compressed - eye center to bottom washer, or eye to eye. For the front and rears please. Within a 1/8" will be fine. Don't bother getting out the micrometer. Thanks Bud |

Since I lowered Rose, the limiting factor of bump travel is the compressed shock length. I've been trying to establish the standard length and if anyone makes shorter lengths.
My guess is this will be one of the very few times were shorter is better. I'm also considering cutting and rewelding the strut mount to give a custom length. Anyways, thanks for the quick response. Hope to see you the next time we gather in SoCal.. |

The shock is supposed to be your front bump stop. I hope at least if you want more free travel at that ride height, you make sure it doesn't bottom out on anything unintended in the suspension first.
There's plenty of shorter lengths out there, you may have to look at different applications though. The mounting ends on these can't be that uncommon. |

The Koni front shock has a rubber snubber bottom stop inside the upper cover. Problem is that the internals will hit bottom on the CA highway system. Since full extension is not a problem, I'm hoping to find if anyone makes a shorter stroke.
I exhausted the QA1 catalogs and their tech guys. The recommended PN for the early C4 was too long and I was ripping off the shaft cir-clips on all four corners after a spirited run through the hills. Otherwise I'll be running a chop saw and MIG soon. |

I just ordered some KYB's too. There's a stretch of miserable road on the way to work that seems to bring out the worst in the factory shocks, so I'm gonna give those a whirl. I noticed that the car bounces a bit when I push down on the back of the car, rather than just rebounding and settling, so it may be time for a change.
