I am getting ready to shop for another Corvette and am trying to see what is out there.
After cruising the "Big" site I was just stunned at what some of those folks are asking.
I had to post there about it and try to edjumicate some of those fools.
I will probably get sent to banned camp for my efforts though.
Do any of those Collector Edition sellers actually know how many of the damn things were made in 96? There have got to be a hundred or so of them for sale on any given day.
I just have to believe that they must be using the muffler orifices for carnal purposes to be that much in love with their babies. I particularly love the pics of the low mileage garage queens with their dried up seals, grommets and weatherstripping. One guy has so many trophies on and around his 94 blue coupe that you can't even tell what kind of car it is!
So your 92 coupe has 21,000 miles on it. It is 16 years old and you can can find a thousand nice C5s for sale at the price you are asking.
Stupid pudd-pullers.

yup. that 21k mile 92 coupe, top dollar, is worth $12k. That's it. And it had better be a clean 6spd car with options.

I have seen a number of CE verts for sale, and all are about $22k-$24k. they are smoking serious crack.

You know how it is, everyone that owns a Corvette wants to claim its something $pecial. Let em sit on it, if they wanna sell it they will drop, simple.

I dont wee why you would get banned for what you posted.

The problem is with the guys who bought em new. They took good care of it and they want to think it's worth almost what they paid.

The less time they've had it, the less they'll sell it for.

Its funny how cheap they are over there, and yet over here $70,000 is considered high but fair for the car, ofcourse i wouldnt get that for it, but id get over $60,000. You blokes couldve bought it new for alot less than that.

Have a look here:
http://carpoint.com.au/DesktopDefault ... 201426&No=30&tabid=500442

Look at the poxy rims on that 94 vert... Says its a 6 speed manual with a 2,500 stall converter... hahaha!!

Damn Case!!! Tell me thoses are AU $$ not US?

For that kind of cash, I'll ship mine over tomorrow!

As far as the price on Brand X (or anywhere else for that matter) are concerned, most people over value thier cars with the understanding that the will be "sickered" down somewhat.

For all those CE owners and for that matter, those who've spent extra $$$ of such as the Ron Fellows Editions, and Pace Cars, unfortunately, unless they're fortunate enough to find a collector or someone who just has to have it, they've bought a base car (Z06 or otherwise) for the most part with paint and vinyl.

There's no way in hell I'd pay a premium for paint or vinyl! Unless there's something special about the hard parts (running gear/suspension? or something particularly different about the body (again, built in, not added like paint/vinyl graphics and stick on spoilers), it's just another vette.

Gonna be hard to unload these things for what people think they'll be worth in a few years. Thats why I suggest buy what you want, drive the piss out of it and enjoy it!

Damn, I paid $12k for my 92 with 64k 4 years ago. Still happy with what I paid for what I got.
But, since it's the best color, Black Rose Metalic, I'll take $32k for it this week. The price goes up next week.

I paid nearly $17k for my 92 8 years ago... Mine is looking like nothing short of a fantastic deal these days.

It had a 3 owners, but the miles were true and low - 39k. The car was equipped as I wanted it: climate control, 6spd, FE1 suspension, dual sport seats. Bose was there, but it wasn't a high priority.

The biggest part? It was the colours I wanted - Polo Green/Tan.

At the time, a friend felt the car was so nice that I could have paid $2k more and still not have been hurt. I used to tell people that I got a Vette for the same money as a Ford Focus!

Paid 9000 for the 86 from a car lot. One of us seems to have gotten ripped off because I paid half less than what you paid but their is only 6 years difference. I think it was you.

Black86 i think youre trippin mate, he has had his 92 a HELL of alot longer than you had that 86, and a 92 is BIG step up from an 86.

Have a look what a 99 or 2000 C5 is costing now and youll see that an 8 yr old C4 was a pretty good buy at "nearly $17,000"

I paid $9,000 for my '93 Ruby, and it's in good shape, and other than having to charge the battery if it sits for three weeks, it runs flawlessly. So there's always a "better" deal out there. No sense flaunting it. Somebody out there has done better than me, and someone has done better than him...

Enjoy your car, whatever you paid. It must have been worth it to you, or you wouldn't have written the check.

I was poking fun of my own ignorance in prices When I first got it and what has been invested in it so far. looking back now, if I had waited a little longer, a better deal could have been found with a newer model...Dumb me!!

9000 for a 93...Good deal.
