I never liked the stock horns on my 92. They seemed rather wimpy.

I replaced them with one of those three trumpet air horn kits a few years back. A nice improvement, but the installation was always a bit icky.

I found this in a Griot's Garage catalog and ordered one.

It's AWESOME! The fit is EXCELLENT (I will post pics tomorrow). The sound is so Ferrari like, it's nearly impossible to tell and the loudness is impressive.

I may get another one for the drivers side... I think there is space down there.

It's about $50.00 shipped.

Pretty cool. If my GM horns die again, I'm up for some of those.

Coolio - looking forward to seeing your pics! I've seen those in their catalog before, and wondered how they sounded.

Many years ago, I replaced the wimpy horns in my converted Ford van with 7 horns from a Cadillac - it was impressive ;-)

Yeah, and make sure when you shoot it you are driving around on a Friday night by the Sonic scaring the high school girls. Much more interesting that way.

Actually, I'd like to see how your new horn stacks up. Interesting idea to package everything together, since with those bigger air horns you have to find a spot to mount the tank and all the other junk.

I am sorry... I don't have video yet... I will have it recorded when reasonable, tho.

The sound is very much like a Ferrari horn. The note is near spot on, if not exactly spot on.

Ah... it's a louder, sharper tone. You know the sound of bicycle horns? when you squeeze the rubber bulb? well, make that louder and more consistant, and you are in the right neighbourhood. To be honest, the train air horn is of the same note, but several octaves lower. If you were to lighten that sound a bunch it would not be too far off.

Most modern car horns are way to sterile. It's a boring "beep." yee-ha.

I can't say I have been beeped at by a Ferrari, but I have heard the horn.

I had bought a cheapo air horn for my daughter's Sunfire, when her normal horn(s) kept burning out.
When I sold that car last year, I put it in the vette, because I keep burning out horns in it.

The dang thing keeps blowing the security/horn fuse, so back to more inferior replacement horns (1 every 1000 miles- a year of driving the vette)

I never did like the horns either. First I replaced the A and C notes with an E and F. I thought about using a naval "battle stations" klaxon (corvettes being a ship and all). But I just didnt find one. Finally I settled on an OOOga horn instead.

It sounds like the Germans are being attacked in Kelly's Heroes. Sometimes I'll even play "All for the love of Sunshine" at same time.....
