Good Morning CGs!

How is everyone doing this Sunday? Seems slow around the guru with Andy and some other members out of town for the races, etc. Where is everybody? Come on, out of 1600+ members we should have a little more activity that this. All you lurkers start posting!

We all went out to dinner last night for my dad's birthday to a Polish buffet and ate way too much. Came home and we sat around for a bit, watched some tv, and hit the sack. Plan on tinkering with a few things in the basement again today before they leave. Maybe clean up the garage a bit once they're gone. I've been trying to get rid of stuff I don't need and either dump it or try to sell it. Just random things. Amazing how much stuff you just collect over the years and never need, but keep it "just in case".

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Yeah, the "junk" around my house encompasses several rooms. We will be cleaning out house before I go so a yard sale will be a coming. Maybe I will make a bit of money. Last time I made something like 500 bucks.

I hardly ever post but I'll chime in. Going to a fair at the Pinecrest Gardens formerly known as Parrot Jungle. My wife is working at the show selling plants. Later I'm going to shoot over to the Miccosoukee Indian Resort and Casino where they're having a huge car show today. Hope to meet bogus and bastet later if they're up for it and go catch a late lunch at the buffet. A few dollars might accidently slip into the slot machines while I'm there. Donate a few more bucks to the tribe. Alrighty then Gurus ...... Get off your ass and do something ..........

I woke up with a bloody nose from all the dry air weather we're having...which is ironic, because it's raining this morning. The temps will be okay though so I hope to toss back a few beers with Tjpreul this afternoon and work on my C3.

Well we're supposed to get about 6 to 7" of snow in the next few days lucky us. I'm thinking of trading the Vette in for a toboggan . Winter sucks!!!!!
For those of you out cruising already, I envy you.

I'm spending the weekend looking for a new DD (no, not replacing the '88). I'm giving my V8 Mountaineer to my middle kid since his Explorer is on it's last leg.

Looking at a couple of AWD Mariner Premiers. Got it narrowed down to 2 candidates. The leader is a loaded Red 2006 w/20k miles for $16,889.

Probably pull the trigger on Monday when the Credit Union opens.

I was going to replace the AIR pump on the '88 this morning, but I need a metric wrench that'll fit between the crossmember and the nut on the belt tensioner before I get started. No way a socket will fit.

Have to work an overtime Mid-shift tonight, so that's screwing-up my weekend.

Have a good one.

Mark

Looks like rain and colder weather coming our way this week, so I guess I don't need to be in any hurry to finish any projects on the Vette today. But I think I'll go ahead and get cracking on the A-pillar weatherstrip just to get it over with.

My wife's youngest sister is schizophrenic, lives on state disability. A month or so ago, she was hospitalized, having gone off her meds and subsequently off her rocker. In the midst of that, we found out her finances were in shambles - she had no rent money and her cable and phone had been shut off. And she somehow had gotten a Target credit card, which was all racked up with late fees. We paid her rent, my wife's older sister got her phone and cable taken care of, and my mother-in-law took care of the Target bill. Now she needs money again - she somehow had gotten a loan from some shady outfit, with direct payments from her bank account, and between their payment and overdrafts, there is no money for rent again.

Then there's my wife's younger brother. He's had about 4 DUI's, has no driver's license. He does remodeling and handyman work. A couple years back, he needed $2800 "for a few days" so he wouldn't lose his house. He gave us a check and said we could cash it on Wednesday. Wednesday never came. He recently walked away from his house, and he and his daugher moved in with my mother-in-law. Now he needs money again - somebody gave him money for materials for a remodeling job, but had to wait a while to start the work. Now they want the work started, but of course my brother-in-law spent the money on who knows what in the meantime.

This morning my wife was informed that someone is trying to use one of her credit cards. After speaking to a number of folks from Bangladesh, I think we have that situation under control.

Taxes are almost done - looks like we get to pay in around $2500.

Other than that, my day is going great - LMFAO!

well we've had the new house for 5 days now.

i've totally redesigned the front entrance, it was extremely claustrophobic before. i put in a 36" fiberglass front door w/ low e window that has leaded craftsman style glass in it, the original front door was a leaky wood 32" door with lots of unsecure glass. we put in a new main panel right away then began rewiring the entire house to delete the old knob and tube cloth covered wire. there is probably 1/2 day more electric. the wallpaper in the living room is stripped and ready to prep for paint.

everything is going pretty much at warp speed since i'm a remodeling contractor and this is what i do every day, so i treat this house like it's a paying customer. tomorrow i scheduled myself to finish the wiring, tuesday after my paying job i am going to do the new back door and window next to it. i've been putting in long hours, worked till after 10:30 4 of the 5 days.

we did spend the night there last night, but i'm back here at my parents house tonight. the bed they left, while super clean and in great condition, is rock hard and my back can't take it. as soon as the major work is done - plan to have the new entry area drywalled and that and the living room painted by the end of the week - i'll start moving in. most important is figuring out which cable plan to get so i can move the big TV over there.
