We just got Verizon FIOS installed... I have never seen internet this fast. Toss in IE8 and we have the internet on my desk.
20mb up/5mb down. FAST. |

It's a bundle (landline phone, TV, and internet), so I'm not sure how it breaks down if you had each individually. But doing it this way should save us about $60 a month from what we have been paying for all 3 of those.

The cable company keeps calling me saying I'll save by bundling my phone service with them.
I say okay then it better cause my bill to decrease every month since my phone costs $0. What is the total cost? With Time Warner Cable I'm paying $90/mo for standard high speed internet and standard cable. Internet doesn't feel very fast here. Downloads are fine, but loading websites just sucks some days. |

Verizon offers just the FIOS. We got it for my daughter at school. There was a set up charge because of some equipment they had to install in her closet. It's around 40 bucks a month. Better then the crappy Charter service she once had.

I'm not a fan of Charter but decided to upgrade anyway. I have tv with expanded basic & HD, phone and internet for $112. Upload is 5.3m.
Beats the dialup I was on. |

I would think Wilmington is a candidate. From where I sit, this will force the cable companies to get their act straight. Where my brother lives, Sebring, FL, the cable (Comcast) SUCKS. The service is barely competent and the customer service is absolutely incompetent. They have Embarq for phone, and they are even worse. My brother uses DSL at the office. Last year he had it upgraded to the "fast" DSL line... it took Embarq a WEEK to get it right. Inexcusable. So far, no FIOS options for them... oooh... Weather Channel in hi-def! |
