Good Morning CGs!

Well I'm looking forward to working on some cars today. Should be super nice weather. Last night I spent about an hour and a half in the garage sorting through sockets. Why? I don't know. I was bored and it was a job that needed to be done. Still no where close to being done. I have hundreds of random sockets in addition to a nice full set I have, but it was bothering my having them sit in a box unorganized. I really need a toolbox with about 500 drawers so I can sort them better. I also finished cleaning up the intake manifold and I rinsed everything out. I learned that layout dye doesn't like to come off of porous aluminum. My suggestion is don't use it. I will probably paint the plenum with silver paint now to make it look better.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I'm looking forward to the nice weather too!

I go through and organize my sockets frequently. I bought several of the strips to lock them into and that seems to keep them in order. The smaller drive sockets are the one's that are harder to keep organized. I try to keep the metric and SAE separate but they seem to attract one another. I have two small sets of Snap-On sockets in SAE 3/8 and 1/4 drive. Those I treat like little jewels.

Still waiting on stuff to finish my work on the Vette.

Good morning! Looks like we're headed for the 70's again today, so I may be popping the top for the first time this season. What an amazing March we've had - but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Have a great day, everyone!

I put all my "extra" sockets in a box so I wouldn't have to look at them unless I lost one out of the sets.
And having 2 different tools sets doubles the fun. I have one roller cabinet that goes in the race trailer, the sockets are organized but the wrenches aren't because it takes up to much room. The sockets in this box are on the old style rails.

The boxes in my shop were a mess socket wise, I bought the plastic orgainzers which I really like.

Morning peeps.
Looking forward to the rest of the day. Working in the home office till 5, then heading out to the garage to nearly finish the 383 build for WW7. It should have been done about March 1, but the machinist has been dragging his feet.
By late tonight, I hope to have the entire shortblock buttoned up, including sheetmetal.
I have thursday and friday off, to start the spackle, prime and painting of the living room and dining room.

As a bonus, my local dragstrip opens friday night.
Looks like a nice rest of the week.

I hope everyone else enjoys it as much as I will.

Hey guys, another day here. Spring fever is beginning to set in. The kids are getting rowdy. We have Friday off, but after that it's a race to the end. We've got nothing special planned for the weekend and I'm at a waiting point for some cabinet jobs.

Supposed to be near 90 today, but windy 20-35.

Greetings, Gurus!

Not a whole lot going on. Lots of little things to take care of today.

It's also my mom's bday, but we're going out to dinner on Friday, and then to see the Fab Four on Saturday night. She's got lunch planned with some friends for today.

Something tells me you'll find something to do.

Back from the hospital. Surgery is complete and she is home. They had to dig around more than anticipated. Now she has crutches and has to stay off the foot till Monday. Guess I'll have some company till at least Tuesday. Of course she is in lots of pain but they gave her a little something for that. Have to go back but the nurses supply store. Size 18 is just a little too tight.

Well, I've been a busy beaver. Woke up and made breakfast for the fam. After that I washed up the baby and went out the garage to start working. Got the oil changed in the wife's car without a hitch. After that, I pulled my truck up to check the brakes. I feel a little grinding when I stop sometimes. Pulled off all the wheels and checked everything, the pads and rotors are good. Relubed the slides and pads and put things back together. I mentioned it to my buddy, he said it's probably rust from the top of the rotors. Made sense to me. By then it was lunch, so wife wanted to go out. Came home and it was nap time for the baby, which means no air tools and no corvette work. So I cleaned the garage a bit, got the summer patio furniture out, cleaned up the yard, and came in and mopped the floors. Told you I was a busy beaver!

What I learned today is that impact guns are the greatest tools ever invented. Love it.

Good evening.
Not a lot going on in this neck of the woods. Had the visitation tonight for my cousin. Was a smooth day at the job and enjoyed three pretty ladies that came to visit...
a neon green Lamborghini convertible, a silver Porsche Carrera GT and a Mercedez McLaren.... then I had to go hide back in my office......
Beautiful cars, at least I got to sit in them... and took pics
