Up and at em ..........
Taking the 87 911 in to have the door lock switch reconnected. Have to do it manually right now. Just having it repaired to work off the remote. Then taking it over to get an estimate for new leather on the seats. The seat leather is currently looking old and tired. Can't complain. They are 23 years old. Tried to talk my wife into seat covers. No deal. Fix it and fix it right. I washed the vert top on the 91 last night. Used RaggTopp cleaner and some light brushing. Still showed some mildew looking stains so I rewashed it with a light bleach solution and rinsed it off. It has been raining off and on since. Have to see how it comes out when it's dry. Have a great day everyone and if you can, fix something.

Another hot day! expected 93 and sunny, yesterday afternoon 112 in the wood shop and I shut the place down. Had a great Monday night observing stupidity at its finest at our school board meeting. Egos must be fed!

Have a great day gurus.

Hope everyone has a productive day. Mine will be spent flying from NePa to Charlotte, NC the Charlotte to phoenix and finally Phoenix to Oakland, Ca.
Once I arrive, work, then meetings, then paperwork. The beginning of a 21 hour work day.
Could be worse. I could be installing a roof, or digging a ditch today.

Hidey-ho! Dark, dreary and rainy here today. The State Fair-goers will have to cover up their corn dogs and mini-donuts to keep them from getting soggy. I haven't been to the fair in decades, but am jonesing for some mini-donuts.

I'm scouring the internet, thinking about picking up a Pontiac G8 GT. I did find a red one that sounds like it's in nice shape, but I'd rather get something like silver that would be stealthier and stay cleaner-looking in the winter. Fun to look, anyway.

Y'all have a good day, and have a safe trip, Pete!

Summary of Life
GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:
1) No matter how hard you try, you can't bathe cats..
2) When your Mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food..
6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair..
7) Never hold a vacuum cleaner and a cat at the same time.
8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.
9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.
10) The best place to be when you're sad is Grandma's lap.

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:
1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts
4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground...
5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy..
GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD

1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional...
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions...
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.
THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE:

1) You believe in Santa Claus.
2) You don't believe in Santa Claus.
3) You are Santa Claus..
4) You look like Santa Claus.

SUCCESS:

At age 4 success is . . . . Not peeing in your pants.
At age 12 success is . . . Having friends.
At age 17 success is . . Having a driver's license.
At age 35 success is . . . Having money.
At age 50 success is . . . Having money..
At age 70 success is . .. .Having a drivers license.
At age 75 success is . ... Having friends.
At age 80 success is . . ..Not peeing ,in your pants.

I'm gonna be leaving in a few minutes to meet my buddy for a run. It should be an 8 miler today...crazy. We want to get it in before it gets too hot.

Other than that I'm gonna enjoy my day off. No plans yet until I get the honey do list.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I did some maintenance on my $100 snowblower yesterday, rebuilt the leaking carb ($5 float needle), changed oil, lubed it, easy until I hit the augers. You're supposed to pull the shear bolts so you can spin the augers on the shafts while lubing. Noticed one bolt was broken. Then found out some idiot put regular bolts in instead of putting in $4 shear bolts. The threads on the broken bolt cold welded the bolt into the shaft and it had to be drilled out. Except the auger blades were in the way of the drill so I had to force my right angle drill attachment beneath the auger blsdes and also use drill bit extensions to get it drilled. Added an hour to a 5 minute job.
I hate it when people do half ass repairs.

That reminds me, I need to pick up a few shear bolts, as I don't have any spares. I really didn't want to start thinking about snowblower maintenance just yet, though :-P

Hey guys, it's been a very busy day at school. I'm home now but have to go back and work volleyball match. I came home to check on the grandsons as my wife is in a meeting until about now and then will come home to be with them until their mother gets home. They are working on their homework. it's hot here today 96 right now.

Last night had the second night of the club golf tourney, last week I played way above my head and ended up in a flight of guys way above my normal game. And several that I'm pretty sure sandbagged so they could win money...I never expect to win anyway. Well last week I shot 38 (on nine holes, par 35) Last night the wind was howling 35-40 mph, so I only shot 42, finished out of the money, but not last, so I'm happy.

Well I got to go get ready for V-ball.

Well, I made it to the forest preserve for my run. The course is 8.1 miles, and was horrible. Hooooorible. It starts out nice, then when you get to about the 4th mile, there is an enormous hill that is about a 60* slope and 200 ft long....I hated it. So then do another 1/2 mile and run downhill...sounds easy but it's not. You have to try not to fall down. Then another mile later is another hill....ugh. The trail itself is a mix of compact dirt, crushed gravel, mud, and horse poop...and the areas that the water washed away are little ravines you have to watch out for with jagged rocks in between. Seriously, it was not pleasant. But my time was very good, at least for my goal, 1:13:32. I was happy with that. But I think I'll stick with road courses for the rest of my long runs.

After the run, we took Samantha on the El to downtown. She loved riding the train. We walked around a bit, did some shopping and ate, then came back. She wanted to do it all again and was screaming for it when we drove away. Lol. Another time.

I blame it on my bag, it's got this drink thingy that always seems to be full of margaritas.

Erin just called me she is getting fuel in Battle Creek Mich off of I 94. Traffic is running 90+ with three vettes running behind her that pulled in to get gas also, all women. 25mpg at 85mph. "This Vette is scary fast". Unbelieveable gas milage! Should be home in 2 hours or less. She figured out ride control and she has not taken off the traction control. Kids
