Good Morning CGs!

Tommy is at the hospital this morning with his wife for a prescheduled foot surgery. Good luck with the surgery, Tommy! Hope everything is smooth sailing.

I don't normally watch Frontline on PBS, but I got hooked last night on a couple interesting articles. The first was about the war on terrorism/homeland security. They talked about the uncounted billions spent on new technology, yet the technology hasn't worked in some recent high profile cases (Christmas Day underwear bomber, Times Square bomber, etc). I think the piece made some good arguments, but really glanced over a lot that the technology has done. Oh well. The piece that really surprised me was the next piece about airlines. It seems that the big boys have more recently been outsourcing all of their plane repairs to MROs (maintenance repair and overhaul). Apparently many of these are in different countries and have lowly-educated "mechanics" who are not faa certified doing the repairs. Makes you feel safe, huh? All to save a few bucks....has me worried a bit. Something you should look into, Gurus.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Howdy!

Best wishes for the wife Tommy! Hope all goes well!
I read about the MRO's too...Unbelievable....

Well..17 more days and I'll be back in Carolina. Wife, Daughter, and dogs have been there since we went for Christmas. Can NOT wait to get back home..

Moving company came out yesterday and hopefully they'll be able to come out and get stuff packed and on the road next week. Our house here in MO is so far out in the sticks that they're going to have to bring a straight truck to load, and then move it all again to the big transport. With the snow in the forecast (again), I just hope they'll be able to get the truck to the house next week. With these temps, the snow will not go away anytime soon...

They're going to xport the vette too, so at least I don't have to worry about that...hopefully! Just gotta be able to get it out of the garage and up the hill!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Greetings! That sure makes me excited to think about hopping on a plane next month, Matt! Meanwhile, it was a balmy 4 degrees on my way into the office. On the bright side, it will be 125% warmer later today.

Have a good one!

Good Mornin'

I been under the weather again with a sore throat and fever. It really sucks.

Anyhow the good news is that my club approved the purchase of timing equipment for our autocross events this year. We have been renting and borrowing for the past two years. We are buying equipment from AxWare Systems which uses Racetronics and Race America hardware. The software has a tailored plug-in for the NCCC scoring and classifications. That will make our lives so much easier. I'm all excited to get this stuff and start playing with it.

Tommy - hope the wife has a successful operation this morning.

Beautiful here today! Warm, sunshine, I am taking the Vette on an exciting cruise with some other Vette guys to go see.......I'm just kidding! I just wanted to see how that felt to write it.

Reality, cold cloudy snowy bleehhh! Corvette is covered up in the shop with stuff starting to pile up around it. Nuts! I am waiting on the Heating and Air guys to get my shop heat finished and then I can do some projects in comfort.

Hope the Mrs. did good Tommy! Great Matt something else to worry about. David I am sure it will be good to be all together again, good luck on the move. Brad I'm trying to get the math done on the word problem you gave us. UH, 10?

Let's go getum Guru's!

Freezing fog is doing just that, freezing. It is getting very slick out there, several kids have fallen on their keisters. I just wish it would snow, at least it wouldn't be this icy crap.

Good morning all. Had an interesting drive to work this morning. We had rain with freezing temps overnight so the roads were sheet of ice. They had freeways closed here for a while. What normaly takes 20 minutes took almost an hr.
With some luck they will have the roads cleaned up by quitting time.
Hope Tommy's wife is doing well and heals up quickly.
More mojo for a safe and good move David.

Good news yesterday. The wife passed her test to become a licened life insurance seller here. She starts her new job on monday officialy. She was hired with the hope she would pass that test. It's been a long 7 monts for her.

Lets all be safe today and try to have a nice day.

Mike

Feel better Don, do what you have to do. Drive safely you snowbirds. Black ice sucks. I know. I had three accidents within an hour and forty-five minutes once. Another time I totalled my 63 Galaxie on an iced over road. Fun to play on in an empty parking lot though. Whoo Hoo! on Mikes wife passing the test. BillH .... report to the office. Lemmee go put my nurses cap back on .......

Glad your wife's surgery went fine Tommy! Cloudy snowy again with a low thurs night of -7. This is getting old. Expecting another 3-6 inches of snow tonight.
Plow truck is holding up fine but the snow plow isn't. Hit a hugh iceberg last night covered with snow...opps not good!!!!
Schools almost over for the day, my advanced class is finishing up a set of cabinets for the women teachers bathroom. They just applied the contact adhesive on the Formica side, we'll let both sides tack up, place, roll and this day is over.
Well gurus talk to ya later.

Good to hear it went well, Tommy!

I'm thinking those snow bunnies that Bill is always posting stopped over for a visit. Or else this happened to him:

There is always a benefit I draw from going to the hospital. There are so many people suffering from different infirmities that I leave there complaining less about my aches and pains. At least for today. I always see something incredible. Today I saw a living Humpty Dumpty. I wonder how she gets around. No doubt there is going to be a great fall.

The yanking with heavy machinery was troublesome. Hell they lift horses out of ravines. Can't you gently lift the Corvette to safety? Think crane ......

I'm not sure how they exactly got it out.. all I heard was it was ontop of the pool, and she got out and the car fell through into the water.. So I'm not sure if in that pic the car is all the way settled or what? sucks though.. that's for sure..
