Oh what a night! Dreams involving a young Lucille Ball and Ricky Ricardo. Wandering thoughts jumping from one subject to something totally unrelated. After lying down for about a half hour and not falling back to sleep, I finally gave up. I have a delivery this morning. It's back to Key Biscayne only this time there will be traffic. School's out this week so that should help the traffic flow some. My wife wanted me to string some fishing line for vines to travel on at the job site. I'm gonna try to sneak out of it. We'll see.

Good Morning All!

I visited the Lucille Ball museum in Orlando at Universal Studios. It's pretty cool. She had an incredible career!

Off to work... chat later if I get a chance.

Good Morning. Gee Tommy I wish I had normal dreams like that! I have the ones where I'm in this jungle yea see and I'm hunting down..... never mind!!!
Well all my retirement paper work has been received by the state, no turning back now. School Corp Building and Grounds Honchos are coming in today to study plans of making my shop into 3 classrooms this summer. Wood Shop will officially die June 10, 2011. CAD will become an English and writing lab.
Foggy this morning with a sunny high of 67 degrees. Time to take the cover off the 87 and fire hat bad boy up and drive it.
Students are rolling in ready for another fun, dusty day in the shop. Catch you guys later!

Howdy! What, did you have a big helping of Vita-Vita-Vegamin before bedtime, Tommy? No such problem here, slept like a proverbial log. I could still be lying there, I'm that good. Hope you have smooth sailing into retirement, Ron!

What's wrong with the Japanese people? No looting, no whining, waiting patiently in line for food, water, gas, answers, etc. - sheesh!

Enjoy your Hump Day in the traditional fashion, everyone!

I was thinking the same thing Brad. No looting, no shootings. I was in Sendi when I was the Navy. Beautiful area. People were incredible. Never did get use to sushi. At that time it was only 26 years had passed since the Bomb drop. I had a chance to visit ground zero which was still hot. The destruction I see now is much worse than ground zero.

I said the exact same thing to my wife last night at supper while watching the news. I said that I didn't think the United States could deal with such a catastrophe because we are such an "entitled" culture. There would be pushing and fighting in the streets for water and food. Riots would be breaking out and people would just be going nuts trying to GET what they think is their fair share. It's really sad that our culture here has absolutely no respect for eachother!

I hope it never happens here because I will have to stay at home and hold the fort down with my old buddies Ruger, Remington, Glock, and Bushmaster!!

Good Morning CGs!

While Tommy was youtubing, I was up playing jail guard to two unruly inmates. Seemed neither prisoner wanted to stay in their cell about 3:30 am. The warden ended up going in the other room to sleep as she has work today and I ended up sleeping next to the two trouble makers. So much for solitary confinement.

Didn't get a call yesterday from the internet company about my gaskets. Might have to give them a jingle today.

Supposed to be nice today...we'll open up the windows and enjoy.

Hope everyone has a great day!

There were these two priests who rode bikes to church every Sunday. Well one day one of the priests showed up to work without his bike. The other priest asked where his bike was so the first priest said, "I don't know, but I think it got stolen!"

The other priest said, "Well what you do is read off the Ten Commandments, and when you get to "Thou shall not steal" someone will confess to the crime."

The next time the two saw each other the priest had his bicycle back. "I see you got your bike back! Did you do what I said?" the one priest said.

The other said, "Well kind of, when I was reading the commandments and I got to Thou Shall Not Commit Adultery, I seemed to remember where I had left it."

A catholic priest and a rabbi find them sitting next to each other on a long journey, and so after some hesitation start to talk to each other. After discussing the weather and sports, the priest turns to the rabbi and says that he thought it was rather strange that he was not allowed to eat pork, and asked him whether he ever had.

The rabbi replied, "Well, when I was a small boy, I did in fact taste a small piece of bacon."

"How was it?" asked the priest.

The rabbi replied: "Not nearly as good as sex."

Good Morning! Up early and did excercise then a farmer showed up and I got that handled. Tommy, I'm thinking you will sleep good tonight.

Whenever I hear the I Love Lucy theme song I flash back to hot summer days with the screen door slamming and us kids running in and out to get something as Ma was ironing or folding clothes as she watched her morning programs. On a black and white TV of course. We didn't get air conditioning in the house until the early 60's when Ma put her foot down and told Dad that she wasn't going through another Kansas summer without it. Color TV in 64 so the old man could watch Bonanza. Brought to you by Chevrolet.

Ron, you won't retire you will just do more of the things you like to do to make some bucks. Good luck with it, change isn't easy.

Gotta go, let's hit a hard 3rd gear and get to the weekend. 70's here.

The whole TV set was open for the tourists up at the lake until about 5 years ago. I took a bunch of people there.

My house is within the map.

Good morning guys...It's going to be a beautiful day in SW Kansas. Looking for 80 today and tomorrow. I slept pretty well last night. My memories of I Love Lucy are similar to Marcus', but we had to go over to a friends house to watch Bonanza in color. We didn't get a color TV until 1970.

I've decided to modify the table, and shorten the distance between the pedestals. I've decided that the legs are too far out towards the ends of the table. Oh well, no biggy. Spring break is lust around the corner, only 2 1/2 more days.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't The Wide World of Disney come on right after Bonanza? I don't remember having a color TV in my house. Maybe by the time we got one I was already running the streets therefore.... never home. I went over to watch with friends (when I had some). Never had A/C until I went into the USAF.

@Matt, that's funny!

The old man and mom and us kids spent the summer of 64 in Gainsville Florida on the U of F campus. They were teaching Peace Corps kids that were going to Brazil about the language and culture. They made 4K for that service and used a 1000 of it to buy a Motorola Quasar with the square tube. We had lots of folks stop by to watch the Peacock do it's thing on NBC. Florida was hot no air in the dorms back then but we got to go to Daytona most every weekend. Now that was cool.

Atta boy Tyler, I might have to send you 20 bucks also to put down on some lucky numbers.

The TV set with house and what was supposed to be Virginia City up at Lake Tahoe was always packed with tourists in the 80's. Neat place.
Virginia City's about 15 minutes esat of me, still has the real houses, Mark Twain's newspaper shop, etc.

Bill - your backyard is on TV right now

Jeff - summer classes are the way to go. Take 1-2 classes and get a couple credits out of the way. I did that in college. I'd love to go back to school but extra time is about non-existent around here.

Jeff as long as you can get the class approved by your college you can take it anywhere. My girls took summer classes from other schools that they could get into after running into the same thing you are. It worked for them anyway.

Back into the real estate game again. A higher offer that was made on a place we have an interest in fell through. Bank told the borrower no go. The realtor relisted with a new price. We're coming in again higher than before but lower than what they're asking. Let's see if the luck of the guru is still on a roll. I'd like this place although I would be really really close to all the nursery action

Bill - your backyard is on TV right now

Jeff - summer classes are the way to go. Take 1-2 classes and get a couple credits out of the way. I did that in college. I'd love to go back to school but extra time is about non-existent around here.

I went back in 2002 to get my Masters degree in Education. It was fun at first because I really missed being in school, but quickly I lost my life and was a slave to the computer and reading every night. I did that for two years, I don't know if I'd go there again. I had no idea the level of commitment.

Off to a customer service/winning situation.
The other day my wife went to Lowes to pick up 75 landscaping border blocks. The employee took off 7 blocks from the pallet and called for the forklift. My wife told him, "You have too many on the pallet.". He looked at her in in a smart ass tone said " I know what I'm doing.". She got them home and we recounted. Sure enough the were 93 blocks. $1.88 x 18 = $33.84 ........ Winner!

Meanwhile .... Back at the Ponderosa ..... The only people that I remember living in the outskirts of the Ponderosa were horse thieves and cattle rustlers. Perhaps an occasional snake oil salesman. Got any snake oil Bill?

Great diversity here at the Guru. We have a Cuban, a woman, four good ol' boys, a Chinaman and a Native American plus maybe a few others all highlighted in daily chat.

No, no snake oil.

But, there's a plaque in my yard that says: "Gerronimo Pissed Here"

That place is perfect, Tommy. 3 bathrooms for your wife and a partial for you. Only thing that would make it better if it was outside so you wouldn't have to walk far from the doghouse
