Good Morning gang.

Three days till company comes. Got to get my azz in gear. Orginize our mess a little, make the cars look pretty and all that other stuff you do when you have company coming. You know, buy beverages, snacks and other foods your company likes. Put your best foot forward and show a little hospitality. Have a great day everyone, and for those that had a bad day yesterday, turn that frown upsidedown.

Good Morning CGs!

Feeling a little better today but still stressed/bummed a bit. Had a really rough day at work yesterday and I'm dealing with that. Car is broken and I'm dealing with that. Got some other issues going on and I'm dealing with that. Luckily family is all good and healthy. Just everything piled on top of me at once. But the wheels don't stop turning around here just because I'm in a pinch. Kids still need things, house still needs things, wife still needs things, friends still needs things...did I mention kids still need things?

Of course all these things just take time to work out. That's what I need now that I don't have...time. It's a commodity. I'll see what I can do, though.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning, all!

Dreary this morning in Philadelphia - grey, grey, grey.

Working at the University today and trying to clean up some odds and ends from the Wildwood Regional tonight. I'll be glad to close that out ...

Matthew, I share your feelings about lack of time.

Agreed, not much good about it so far. Gonna be dark, rainy and cool the next few days. I worked on the deck some more last night and found a few more carpenter ants in another post. Mofuggers have been evicted.

On Sunday, my son found a turtle out in the street, so he put him in the grass in the neighbor's yard. Yesterday morning, my wife opened the door to the garage to take the garbage out, and the turtle was sitting in there, looking at her. Scared the hell out of her - LMAO! He has been banished to the garden.

Have a good day, all!

Good morning, had some wild weather in the area last night. You know it's going to be an interesting evening when two seperate Storm Chaser outfits fly by you when you are on the way home. Here is a picture of a tornado that was west of town 5 miles and tore up a bunch of stuff and derailed a coal train. Nobody got hurt thank goodness.

The houses get in the way but right over the middle house you can see the top of the funnel. I could see the whole funnel when it was further south but I was racing home to get stuff put away. Not so much for the tornado but there was supposed to be a lot of hail with it. Life on the prairie.

Matt, one day at a time, what can we do to help? Tommy, if we didn't have guests occasionally we would never get stuff in order. Brad what is up with the Twinkies?

Let's roll Guru's it's Big Tuesday!

Marcus, the Twins have made a remarkable turn-around, really been on a tear. I don't know if they'll be able to pull it off for the season, but at least they are moving toward being relevant. The first couple months of the season were embarrassingly bad, lots of injuries, too.

Good days here despite the rain and busyness. The house is finally going back together after the kitchen destruction. Having hours of LeMans coverage on while working doesn't hurt. So soothing...

Bill, mailed your VATS thingy yesterday. I really don't understand shipping. I sent something a few weeks ago of roughly the same size (a little heavier) and it cost $13. So this time I bought a "flat rate box" and paid $5.20. She tells me that if I had not used the flat rate box it would have only been $1.80. WTF?

Morning guys...More rain here last night, probably still dry at home. I've got most of the stuff loaded already, and I've done a couple last minute things here for the daughter. Long trip home today, pulling the trailer. Hopefully I won't be bucking the wind, too.

I need to go shower and finish loading, I'll try and check in when I get home.

Padded envelope or small box goes by weight at USPS. Look at it this way. You got a free box. You would have had to get an envelope or scrounge up a little box and tape it. Flat rate is a bargain for heavy stuff. It's a live and learn thing. Never be afraid to ask "What's the best cheapest way I can ship this?"

What I do nowadays:

1. Disregard UPS entirely.

2. When I go to the PO I use the automated scale/stamp machine. I check the flat rate box against what the scale says the postage sticker will be and take the least expensive one. And it's way faster than waiting in line.

I just sent a set of valve cover gaskets to Georgia, $5.20 flat rate, $2.20 for the postage sticker.
BTW, it took 3 days, UPS would have taken 9 days.

Just got back from taking the wife over to the doctors office. I'm getting pretty used to this. However, now I have to make up another four hours in an already tight schedule.

Now I'm off to deliver some equipment to the office and get back here to do some more worky work.

Steve... get some rest. I know its difficult but your immune system is down from stress. Notice how during stressful times we manage to do just fine, but then after the stressful period is over or there has been some kind of closure or climax... the body caves in and you get sick. At least I have noticed this in my experiences.. I'll have a major task or stressful event and I'll make it all the way to the end and when I should be taking a breath, whamm, I get sick!

Take it easy and hope you get feeling better

Later..

Steve, get rest, nothing beats water and sleep to heal the body, and maybe multivitamins.
Matt... I sympathize with you, if we can help just say so.
Up and at the office today, feel like crap, dreary here too. Getting the air fixed on the truck tonight and gonna ask the mechanic if he can get my stuck head bolt loose then I can move a little farther forward with the car. Supposed to be leaving for Bloomington Gold tomorrow but oh well, priorities and problems come first.
Hope you all have a good day.

Good evening guys. Its been awhile. Ten days into retirement. Great feeling. Spent the last four days in Punta Gorda, Florida, looking at retirement home possibilities, real estate prices are extremely affordable.
Got in this morning, neighbor down the street committed suicide. Wow! shocker! car guy with a passion for British Cars. Seems like a long term solution for a short term problem. Two of my former students were killed in some gang related crap! and to think South Bend was just voted an All American City, Go figure!
Still trying to fing tires for the 87, 255-50-16 are becoming very difficult to find. Tire Rack and Discount Tire are back order since May 1.

Punta Gorda got spanked by a hurricane a few years back. Right off I-75. Small town feel. Port Charlotte and Ft Myers to the south. Sarasota/Bradenton/Tampa to the north. Not to far to The Muscle Car Museum. I'm more of a water guy so I like to be a little closer to the beaches and water. Florida is on sale so ya, the prices are pretty good right now. Good luck Ron.

Hey guys...it was a long trip home today. Wind was blowing hard dead into us. Pulling the trailer made it feel like I had the emergency brake on the entire way home, probably only made 8mpg all the way home.....makes for an expensive trip. On a side note though, gas was a low of $3.36/gallon in the middle of the state.

I got everything unloaded and the trailer back to it's home and watched two grandsons play ball. My butts a draggin'.

Tommy. This home was recently rebuilt after last huricane, seven miles in on a channel from the ocean, has a dock, caged swimming pool, ask what the cage was for?, the Realtor said, gators. Cool. Could not believe the prices. Reasonable is an understatement.

Gators... No shortage of them. A guy up Tampa way used to go swimming in a canal like that behind his house everyday. Big shark got him. Funny thing was it was rare for a shark to be there. It must have got disoriented. Gators have a brain about the size of your thumbnail. Hasn't evolved in millions of years. It does 4 basic things. Eat, sleep, shit and mate. Doesn't particularly care what you think about him. Your in his domain. Watch out for your pets. Chomp, chomp, chomp.

Thats what the Realtor said, guy next door was telling us about his Golden Retriver that was taken in front of the canal by a gator in the classic death roll. Never saw any part of their pet again. Wow! Doesn't seem like a great real estate market when you could end up being gator shit while reading a book on your dock.
