Happy Friday! I dusted off the Vette and drove it this morning, but made the mistake of washing the windshield in the dark again. I really need to quit doing that. Our team didn't do too well in the tournament yesterday - one guy hadn't played in 2 years, and another only plays once or twice a year. I did stuff 3 approach shots in tight for tap-in birdies, though. It was a nice day, though, and beats the hell out of working. Meanwhile, back to the grindstone.

Have a good day, everyone!

Working from home today! TGIF

I have a follow-up interview scheduled for Monday for the Project Manager position I want. I'm getting some sweaty palms, which I hardly ever do. They are going to give me an "Exercise" to do, and I will have an hour to complete the problem and then present to the panel. Oh God... help me with this one! Then, if I make it past that hurdle, I have to meet with the CEO of the company for a face-2-face interview.

After work today I will be getting the car ready for the Corvette Annapolis show that is being held tomorrow. It should be fun. If nothing else its a great venue and a good place to eat and drink and be merry!

Well... back to work for now - Have a good day Gents!

Well this may be a tough day. I get to meet all the staff at my new school today. It has been tough so far I have met about half of them. Today I will be in a room with 52 femals. I am the only man on campus.

Well I guess that is why they pay me the big bucks.

Tommy what you are doing is almost as good as P90X I'm thinking. Brad glad you got to drive the Vette and I think I had a birdie once.......it was in a best ball tourny..

The 90 is supposed to go away this morning. I have mixed emotions on it because I did bond with the car. Some folks can't understand how that is possible but it is...for me anyway. The car got me back into Vettes after many years away and in my quest for knowledge about the car I discovered the Guru, which has been enlightning on many different levels.......some sophmoric.....

The C5 that sits in the shop is maybe one of the best cars I have ever had in how it performes and looks and I am all about seeing what is new and exciting and the more I drive it the more respect for it I have. I haven't bonded yet that will take awile but we are good friends.........

My oldest daughter gets in today on her journey to be married. There is a shower here for her this weekend and then the women will all get together and start the wedding work........I think I will find a car show or something this weekend.......

There is a Vette club in Lincoln that several folks here belong to and one of them with a beautiful 2000 Torch red vert with the light oak interior invited me to their yearly car show next weekend in Lincoln. Its a big club so there will be lots of cars, I think I will go.....

Have a good productive day today Guru's...

Marcus... I know that you have been looking for a little Corvette Camaraderie lately.

The link below is a list of the clubs in the NCCC West Region. All of them are organized and run under the same governing body as my club. Actually my club and a couple others started this whole NCCC thing 50 some years ago. But anyway here is the list and there should be some good clubs there. I don't know their specific personalities but do know how they are organized and run. You may be looking for something less structured too... so lots of options out there for that as well.

Good Morning CGs!

I was a busy man yesterday. We watched two of our cousins boys (we call them our nephews) who are about 7 and 9. They played in the pool and water slide all day. I had to stay in there with them the whole time, so I was in the pool for about 2 1/2 hours off and on. It got its use yesterday. That coupled with me cutting the grass and gardening meant about 5 hours in the sun yesterday. I'm a little red, but not too bad.

Today we have a condensed morning. I have to get up rugrat #1, get her off to school, pack my bags and the truck, wife needs to hit the grocery store, and then we're on the road. It will be nice to get home and see some old friends and family.

Don - good luck with the interview!

Marcus - I understand how you can bond with a car. I have a love/hate relationship with mine! But the two best days in a corvette owners life are the day he buys it and the day he sells it...

Tommy - hope the moving is going smoothly.

Steve - maybe the estrogen in the room will permeate your skin and you can finally get in touch with your feminine side

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning guys...everyone is up and about way before me. It's my last day before things start in earnest on Monday. I'll go in again today to do a few things, but I don't have to, just lightens the load a bit for next week. Up early tomorrow to go to the funeral of my brothers' FIL, it's a 3 hour drive and the funeral is at 10am. Planning on leaving at 6, taking the Corvette, at least that's a plus.

Don, I'm sure you'll pass with flying colors. Marcus I know the feelings you are going through, all of them. Matt, having to spend time in the pool...tough job, but someone had to do it, right? Steve, be careful, those women will eat you alive. Brad that sounds like the bunch I was supposed to play with tomorrow. I not the best golfer, and I was the "A" player. Not sure what they are doing now.

Have a great day.

THE SWIMMING POOL

((((RING))))

**Pick Up**

"Hello?" "Hi honey, this is Daddy, Is Mommy near the phone?"

"No Daddy, She's upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Paul."

After a brief pause, Daddy says, "But honey, you haven't got an Uncle Paul." "Oh yes I do, and he's upstairs in the room with Mommy right now" .....

Brief Pause

"Uh, okay then, ..this is what I want you to do. Put the phone down on the table, run upstairs and knock on the bedroom door, and shout to Mommy that Daddy's car just pulled into the driveway."

"Okay Daddy, just a minute" A few minutes later the little girl comes back to the phone. "I did it, Daddy" "And what happened honey?" he asked "Well, Mommy got all scared, jumped out of bed with no clothes on and ran around screaming.

Then she tripped over the rug, hit her head on the dresser and now she isn't moving at all!" "Oh my God!!! What about your Uncle Paul?"

"He jumped out of the bed with no clothes on, too. He was all scared and he jumped out of the back window and into the swimming pool. But I guess he didn't know that you took out the water last week to clean it. He hit the bottom of the pool and I think he's dead"

***Long Pause***

******Longer Pause******

Then Daddy says: "Swimming pool?? .. Is this 486-5731??"

I checked out their website and they look like a great club with lots of activities. I like the fact that they have a Friday night social during the summer months and I also like that they have a road clean-up crew that takes responsibility for a section of Nebraska Highway. Something I could possibly incorporate into my club as well. Anyhow... hope you have fun.

Bill, are you gonna powder-coat all that stuff, or what?

They didn't have powdercoating in 1967.

The trailing arms will be shot with GM Restoration paint (like the frame). And I have some tricky shit to put on bare metal.

Besides, shit don't rust in Nevada.

Those pictures are great, Bill. At this rate you'll be finished with the 67 in 10 years......

Actually, I'm pretty impressed with your progress.

Bill do you have the original engine? Was it a 300 hp or 350? Has it been rebuilt already? Many questions.....better powder coat it unless you are going the NCRS route......

So, I work with some stupid people. One guy that works in the warehouse is just a mess, he drinks too much, has many health issues and is generally just a accident waiting to happen. So what do they do? Equip him with an air compressor and a framing gun...yup. Shot a ring shank nail right through his hand just missing the joint where his pinky attaches to his palm. ~sigh~

Origional 300.
I'm going NCRS because the car is matching numbers, real matching numbers, all the extras are origional and have the correct p/n's (disty, cap, coil, fan clutch, expansion tank, etc.).

The only non-NCRS will be the frame paint and body paint but even with those, the car still could get a "Top Flight".

But I have no plans to get it judged, I'm doin this for me.

Don't really need powdercoat in Nv., stuff doesn't rust here.

The motor's not built but that no big deal. If the heads don't need valve guides, the cost on them will be zero, well probably new springs.
IIRC, the motor won't need bored but I have to get my bore gauge out and check for taper.
If I'm lucky, the only outside work will be a crank polish.

I may get away with a $700 build and it only will take 2-3 days.

If the valve guides need replaced, I'll go ahead and have hardened valve seats put in + SS valves so I can run unleaded.
