I got a new job!!

I am working the old 8-5 slog again, but it's way cool!

My new gig is with a nationally known dealer in off road truck parts - more than a little bit up my alley! They want to bring in-house their mailing services.

When doing ads and mailings, they want to make sure that the documents are being sent to the right people at the right time. If they send 3 to one house, that's a waste of time and money; if the big spender isn't getting any promotions, they might upset him.

My job is to keep this stuff clean and tidy and allow (future) the marketing team to select who gets what.

The core of the app will be done by about Sept. After that is enhancements to improve analytics and such.

I started this job a little over a month ago. I don't like making announcements until they have really taken hold.

From a tech geek perspective, I will be using SQL Server 2012 and VB.NET 2010. My goal? Deduplification of data and to simply make sure that only 1 mailing goes to 1 house.

The best part, they have given me the problem, solve it the way you think is best. I want speed, I want accuracy. And using Googles methods require servers we don't want to buy!!!
