I am glad it's Friday!

Need to get the bikes out today - going biking tomorrow. High should be around 90, so the camelbak is going into the freezer tonight...

Good Morning CGs!

I did get to work on the car last night which was nice. Of course an hour long job turned into several hours, as usual. I put the pulley back on the ac compressor and when I tried to check the air gap the pulley had runout. WTF? Those pulleys have a spoked hub design that is cheap and weak. I don't know if it got tweaked from the floor press, or from age and heat, but it had runout of .23 in at one point. That's more than factory spec. I took it over to Rick's and we used the floor press and some plates to try to square it the best we could. Got it to almost zero runout in the center hub portion and maybe .10-.12 at the edge of the pulley. The weird thing was it check ok with a square and the clutch fit snug with no problems. I'm gonna run it and see how it goes. After searching a while I did fine a company that sells a new coil, pulley, and clutch for $145 shipped. Not what I want to spend, but oh well.

I have so many projects for the car but right now the ac is on the front burner. Hope to get it completed soon.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

My thoughts for the day.
I was thinking how people have altered their lives by the decisions they've made in the past. I have a sister who took regular vacations and trips to see her kids and grandkids several times a year. She basicly spent all her savings on traveling during her working years. Now she's in her mid 60's and is lucky she can afford a trip to WalMart. My other two sisters bailed out their daughters and grandkids so many times they are now sitting in financial ruin. One of my BILs has been in and out of trouble, in and out of jobs. He is now living of the generosity of mommy and daddy along with his sister (my SIL) that is disabled and living on SSI. I write this to give the younger guys a heads up. Keep in mind the decisions you make today will have an impact on your lifestyle when you get older. An older friend of of ours explained it this way. If you make a monster, you have to feed a monster. Don't let your kids grow up to become monsters.

Note: I am not the answer to their problems. I have a lot less money than they think I have.

Greetings! Sunny, beautiful day here, and I'm Vette-less - my car is still stashed over at my MIL's. Now that the cabinet guy is done I can bring it home, which will of course cause it to rain. Saw several classic cars on the freeway this morning, always a treat.

Have a great day, everybody!

I was just looking out at my bird feeders in the backyard and watching doves come down for treat. It was then it dawned on me that a good sized hawk that passes by in the evening is using it as a bait station.

It's hard to say no to your kids because you love them so much but.....sometimes saying no is the best way to love them. Enabling makes them and you weaker....easy to say and not so easy to do sometimes. What is hard for some kids is that they have been raised in reletive affluence and all of a sudden they are at the bottom working up the ladder and its not as nice as they are used to......but it has to be if they are to get a grasp on reality.....good words Tommy....I'm with you on that.....

Stayed up late watching the Heat game. There was about 20 kids over here downstairs watching it on the bigscreen and the whole place would shake when someone would slam a big dunk or Miller would drain another 3. I was in my man cave watching and smiling at the energy and sounds of youth. Although I got to going when Miller kept hitting those shots. It looked like he could hardly move on those knees of his. Good fun!

Beautiful day here...I called in a gave myself a personal day off work as I get into working on the porch and helping Ultra Woman paint the upstairs rooms.....I guess I will be working just on other stuff.

Have a good day Guru's.......

This is a mess that really fries me.....what did they think was going to happen when they openned it up to women and gays......

Those hawks are really fast, turinig on a dime. Probably could win an autocross birdocross. You know one's around here when all the birds dissappear.

Good morning guys...It is cool this morning , but they are predicting a warm up to low 90's. Tomorrow starts a run of 100+ days. PT in about an hour. Monday I go back for my 6 week check up. I am recovering from my little setback. I am spending less time sitting around and more time up on my feet. My stamina is coming back.

Hi everybody.

Today it's going to be 93* and thunderstorms.... So of course I drove the 92 to work.

I asked Elsie last night if she was going to drive the 79 to work but she declined.... aparantly working AC and defroster's are more important than driving your Corvette to work....

I've got a lot of side work to do in the comming weeks. I have an engine to build for a member here and a set of Ford SCJ cyl heads to port.

One hour of wet sanding & I found another crack in the door.

So, mix up some stinky ol fiberglass which is still better than wet sanding.

That's enough "pleasure" for today, on to DNBFS.

Hey Tommy,
I'll be in West Palm on the beach for 2 weeks starting July 5th. I love that my wife trades some of our Pocono Time share. I'll be surf fishing.....Whats biting and whats good bait? Should I pick up some spoons for Blues?I've been using frozen shrimp and pulling out a few and I mean a few! Catfish, Ladyfish and the rare small grouper and tossing them all back. Any Pompano around? I never caught one but I'm told they're good eating. I also read I actually need a license to surf cast? Never did before. I guess I can get one at a Walmart sporting goods dept huh?

In regard to your Kid post, I came from nothing. One kid had THE Baseball, another had the bat, another had the football.....we all needed each other and it was a happier time. We grew up and gave our kids all we could. Maybe that was wrong, but, My oldest,21, is working in a Pool/ski shoppe and going to school part time. My second starts Penn State in the Fall, and my youngest is still in middle school. Yea, they are spoiled compared to what I had, but now that the boys are adults, I tell them "You can have anything in life you want.....get it yourself!".

I'll have to meet up with you while you are down here, Alan. Here is a little fishing info. I haven't shore fished much for many, many years now. I don't think you'll find any blues this time of year. I think it's more of a winter migration fish. Fishing slows down in the summer for many species. You might want to check out some pier fishing. There's always a chance the weather will be good enough and we can go out on a morning fishing trip to the reef if you want to drive down. I'm about 2 hours from WPB. In any case, we'll have to make arrangements to meet. There is some good bridge fishing in the Keys but that would be a 3+ hour drive. Surf casting is foriegn to me. I have a surf caster but I've never used it. LOL

evening guys, well it warmed up here today. Made it all the way up to 97......just a taste of what the next 7 days are to bring. I got quite a bit done today, finished up a computer and got it delivered, finished up a set of plans for a handicap ramp into a house....no, not for me . And worked on repairing a couple of antique chairs, my PT session and a bike ride.

I think I'll go turn on the TV and see if my Royals can do something at home against the world champs.

Look closely at the front wheel, dude.

There ain't no brake.

Flat track racers never touch the brakes in a race - ever.

Besides brakes are for woosies.

Yea, well, Fred dragged his feet but,

This is my steel shoe, in a corner, the weight of the bike is being held up by your left leg with this shoe skating on the dirt at 120+ mph.

BTW, it's strapped to my boot in that pic.

Anyone here wanta try it????
