Good Morning CGs!

Sitting here watching powerblock and killing time. Wife went with RR#1 and the in-laws to the county fair about an hour away to look at the animals, etc. FIL usually gets some chickens for soup and laying eggs. Always comes home with something....interesting.

I have to work later today, don't plan on doing any more work on the car today. I'll tinker here and there throughout the week. My goal is to have it up and running within 7 days or so.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning! I tried to sleep in, but the sun was too damn bright. You would think something could be done about that. Oh well, gonna run to the store to pick up a little hardware and then finish buttoning up the Vette. Looks like another beautiful day out there - this has been a spectacular Labor Day weekend so far.

Have a good one, Gurus!

I'm tired of lookin' at nuts and bolts.

Today, I'm going to take some bolts and dip them in hazardous material to turn them black.

Morning guys....Got up and been to church already. Sitting out in the porch it's a nice day right now, 75 and a light breeze. Going to get hot though, looking for 101 today.

Brad, I think they call those things "window blinds", "drapes" or "curtains". They have been around for some time. Matt, when we go to the county fair, all we seem to pick up is trash. Don't have enough money to buy any livestock, cows, pigs and horses sell for way too much money.

Having a big lunch today, in honor of FIL 83rd birthday. Four of the six kids will be here and quite a few grandkids and great grands.

The brakes on the X developed a shake in the front recently while braking. I did a full brake job on the truck maybe 5000 miles ago. Cut the rotors front and rear and new pads. Guess the front rotors didn't like it. Visually with a straight edge no warpage, but I didn't check the runout. I did see a lot of rust on the inside vanes so I think they are out of balance. What's weird is sometimes the shake is not there, sometimes it is. Never experienced that before. Found a vendor on ebay with raybestos pro grade rotors shipped for $45 each. Cheapest price anywhere so I just bought them. I have a road trip in two weeks so I'd like to get the brakes fixed up before that.

Still having fun with that huh?

Not much going on today here... my sisters baby shower was yesterday and recovering from that.. later going to a late lunch with my sister, her mother in law, my mom, theresa and I...

Ordered a motorvac machine today, hopefully it comes and all works well with it. This is one of my favorite pieces of equipment, helps keep your injectors clean. Some people believe in performing fuel system cleanings others not so much.. I see the proof in the fuel trims, hard to argue with the facts...

We worked at my sons place for 4 hours this morning cleaning up the overgrowth. Came home, got my beard trimmed and took a nice shower. Later I logged onto The Guru. Wouldn't you know it. As soon as I'm reading a few posts and getting comfortable, the wife calls and asks if I can help her in the kitchen. Apparently she couldn't put the lids on some containers by herself. Women never cease to amaze me. Like a grocery store run. Doesn't matter what you're doing, they need help bringing the groceries in. Each generation of women teaches the next the the "I need help" routine. How long will it be before I hear my name being called again? Not long, I can assure you ...... Her duty is to call ..... My duty is to gripe about it.

It's nice to have a little free time. I buttoned up the exhaust, the Corsas sound pretty good. Then I reinstalled my cross-frame and camber-brace, which had been sitting collecting dust since last year - I'd forgotten how much of a difference they make. Then I tidied up the garage a bit. Perhaps a nap is in order. Later I'm going to BBQ some chicken and do some potatoes on the grill, and have some corn on the cob - I'm gonna give this a whirl:

We had some home made burritos for lunch. My wife just got done making me a nice fresh bowl of guacamole. Fresh avocado, onion, tomato, mayo, salt, pepper and a squeeze of lemon. MMmmmm, mmmmm good. I'm gonna put some Scoops to work here shortly. Later for dinner, bacon wrapped turkey breast cutlets and whatever vegees we wish to add. Probably some asparagus spears and buttered corn. Sunday is a great eating day.

You forget the heat index....you know "feels like"

@ these temps, you don't turn on the a/c - house or car.

The morning temps cool down the house quite nicely.

You'll have to come out here to experience the reality.

Hey Brad that was a great corn vid. I always cook the corn in the micro but have never tried that trick....mmmm...got some corn to try it on also.....you guys are making me hungry....I love wackamoly....especially with some fresh salsa and lime doritos...

I spent some time on the 91K 89 C4 today and its in rough shape. The guy is dreaming if he thinks he can get 7500.00 for it. I mean my 90 was almost perfect and 58K miles with custom exhaust and I got 8500 for mine. Weather stripping is tough and some of the switches doen't work. Top is good and the car is box stock. It's been on gravel ever since he owned it. 3 to 4 grand I'm thinking....

4 minutes per ear - do it just like the video shows, and leave the husks on. Then cut the bottom off and the ear will slide out pretty easily.

I just did the boiling water for 15 minutes routine. Came out perfect and juicy. Buttered em up and was good to go. I'm not a big microwaver. Heating food or quick breakfast sausages is my main use. That and boiling my water for coffee in the morning. Folgers in my cup. I have drip blend coffee for company. My cellphone, computer ans microwave get a very low percentage of their total potential use.

Wow, I boil for 5, keeps things crunchy.
Not knocking 15 though.

I saw something on TV years ago on the 5 minute deal. Damn if I know. I'll try longer just for the hell of it and see what I think.

All I did was lay on the couch all day, got up once and went to the dollar store for some Alleve, FINALLY got rid of my four day headache. Glad you guys have the hot weather for a change, was muggy as heck here though. And all this talk of food has made my bowl of cereal for supper all of a sudden seem not so palatable.....

Back to the corn. I like it cooked longer for less cruch. I think the the corn is just something to accompany the butter I lather on it. Corn is OK but it's the meat that makes the meal.

Get well soon mojo, Letty.

Gotta agree with you there Tommy. The corn is there simply to hold the butter in place. Baked potatoes are pretty much the same, the potato and butter should be in equal proportions.

Meanwhile, I cooked a turkey on the grill today. Took a handful of fresh Rosemary, Thyme, Sage and a couple of onions, stuffed them in the bird and cooked over hickory charcoal. Definitely tasty.
