TGIHCF.

We made to the end of another week. I'm looking forward to a nice quiet weekend.

Should be nice today with temps in the 70's again with a chance of rain late tonight and tomorrow.

Word of the Day Friday, July 26, 2013

cyclopean\ sahy-kluh-PEE-uhn, sahy-KLOP-ee-uhn \,

adjective;

1. (sometimes lowercase) gigantic; vast.

2. of or characteristic of the Cyclops.

3. (usually lowercase) Architecture, Building Trades. formed with or containing large, undressed stones fitted closely together without the use of mortar: a cyclopean wall.

Origin:

Cyclopean refers to the mythical Greek creature Cyclops, a kind of giant who has one large eye in the middle of its face. This adjective has been used to mean "gigantic" since it entered English in the 1600s.

GOOD MORNING

My big plan so far is to pay a couple of bills. I have to drive into town so I'll take either the 928 or the 90. The 90 has A/C so it could well have the edge. Looking forward to the passing of summer. I'll do the best I can to sleep it away. Is it nap time yet?

Somebody should take ol' One Eye to the optometrist.

Greetings! Gonna be cool here today and tomorrow, supposedly it won't make it to 70. Looks like a good weekend to make some hay on outdoor chores - no projectile sweating involved.

Enjoy your Friday, Gurus!

Morning guys...My Royals did it again, opened a can of whoop-ass on Dons' birds. Hope we can continue the streak.

I was up until late working on yet another computer. And I'm up working on it this morning. Sometimes I hate computers.

I only have one eye open this morning.

But that's all eye need to drive to the racetrack.

Possible sever thunderstorms after lunchtime...wonderful.

At least the C4's back in the garage now.

Yea, it's supposed to be cool here today as well. I got called yesterday to see if I wanted to play golf in a tourney at one of the "exclusive" golf courses over in the "city". "Of course" I say. We get to play a practice round today and then play tomorrow afternoon for a seeding for Sunday. The guys I am playing with are pretty good golfers, so we should be in a higher (or maybe championship) flight. It's a four man scramble so we should do ok.

It is shaping up to be a good weekend for me. Time for the Hy-Miler Nationals at Sandusky Speedway ! Pavement Supermodifieds, 40 lap feature tonight, 100 laps tomorrow (assuming the weather cooperates). Some of the most interesting racecars you will find anywhere.

Taking off work at noon to head out to the track.

Later gang, have a great day.

Mostly, I hope I do get time in it but I'm more concerned that everything works OK, especially the transaxle.

I do wish I could have driven last years car though.

Morning Guru's.....its like a fall morning here with a temp of 67 but an 84% humidity score...

In office today catching up. I was reading one of my car mags last night and they have an article on the Ferrari Challenge racing program for your well heeled Ferrari guys....very cool program...buy in is a 458 Ferrari at 300,000 set up to race and then you pay another 250,000 for the entry fee to run the 7 race circuit. Motor coaches and private jets are available to you for this money....Ferrari makes sure you have a pit team available with mechanics and they are maybe 30 to 40 cars running.....and the racing is good according to the magazine....wow! It's how the other half lives....

better get back to work...have a good day Guru's....

I instructed in one of them. A guy here has one that's about 3 years old. Comes out to the track a lot.

And that's where I'm headed now.

Good morning all.

I have nothing to say about the O's vs Royals series. They shut me up pretty good. There is always next time.

Looking forward to a cooler less humid weekend!!

Have you ever seen Twenty Dollars all crumpled up?" the woman asked her husband.
"No"...said her husband.

She gave him a little smile, unbuttoned the top 3 buttons of her blouse...and slowly reached down ...and pulled out a crumpled Twenty Dollar bill.
He took the crumpled Twenty Dollar bill from her ...and smiled approvingly.

"Have you ever seen Fifty Dollars all crumpled up?" she then asked her husband?
"Uh...no, I haven't" he said with an anxious tone in his voice.

She gave him another sexy little smile, pulled up her skirt, and reached into her panties and pulled out a crumpled Fifty Dollar bill.
He took the crumpled Fifty Dollar bill... and started breathing a little quicker with anticipation.

"Now," she said, "Have you ever seen $50,000 Dollars all crumpled up?"
"No way" ...he said (while obviously becoming even more excited).
"Well go look in the garage!"

Afternoon all.
Had the deposition today. 3 hours of grilling and nothing to eat.
14 year old kid, never had driven a go cart.
A home made go cart with a damn Katana 600 engine pushing it.
A cyclone fence.
This did not end well for the young man, he survived but lost most use of his left arm and right leg.
WTF was his step father thinking putting him on this thing....

Yea, the sound of the F1 cars and IndyCars back then gave you goose bumps.

The F1 cars still sound good today, the Indycars sound like dogcrap.

I was listening to some 9,500 revs about 2 hours ago, about a foot behind my head.

Methinks this is on one of the vast highways of Europe where insane speeds are the norm. Seeing cars bearing down at 160 (mph not km's) is not uncommon. The general rule is stay out of the left lane and slower traffic keep right. Of course, this is an unknown concept to most American drivers.
