Good morning gang. I hope everyone had a safe and fun holliday.

We spent the weekend up at the lake and had a good time with friends.

Welcome to September. 8 months down and four to go.

Word of the Day Tuesday, September 03, 2013

serotinal\ si-ROT-n-l, ser-uh-TAHYN-l \, adjective;

1. pertaining to or occurring in late summer.

Origin:

Serotinal entered English in the early twentieth century. It is derived from the Latin word sērōtinus meaning "late of time."

Greetings! It's good to be back in the office so I can relax. My weekend put the "Labor" in Labor Day. The ibuprofen seems to be working, thankfully.

I'm going to see Tommy Emmanuel on the 13th, looking forward to seeing him again:

Have a great day, Gurus!

Good morning everybody....nice crisp cool morning here today. We will be doing final irrigaiton scheduling this week if any of you need it. Had a good weekend with lots of GS driving....got 29K on it so I'm not letting the grass grow under it's monster tires...

Not much else but work and trying to keep everything running. My middle daughter called and said her Envoy is running bad now....great....I just spent some money on her sisters Envoy out in Seattle. The fuel guage had quit on it and I had heard there was a class action suit against Chevy where they would pay half the cost. So I had her take it in to a Chevy dealership up there and they fixed it all for free. You could have knocked me over with a feather.....It just turned 100K so I had them change out the tranny fluid also while it was in there.

Speaking of pics off the deck here is what we look out at every morning....Yeah...that's corn across the road...

Good Morning CGs!

I know we have plans today...just don't know what they are I think we are going to Sedona which is about an hour from here to see the area. Should be nice. Yesterday we went to the county fair and the kids had a good time. I can certainly say this vacation has not been dull.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I don't have a deck but I have a patio.

Pics from front and back yard views.

You can also see some of the many places to sit.

When we first bought the place my wife was not to enthusiastic because of the work required. Now she routinely says to me "Nice pick honey!". No mountains, no water view but it is a laid back country style home.

We have a number of fruit trees on the property. Mango, avocado, lychee, mulberry, banana, apple, peach, assorted citrus, jakfruit, carambola, cherry, guava and a few others. It's a never ending project. Always adding something. We also have orchids spred throughout the trees. Living in farm country has it's advantages to. There are always people giving us fruits and vegatables or we buy them at a real good price. I love it out here. People that come out from the city or the burbs like it too. It has a laid back feel but it does take work to keep it up. That's OK by me. I need to keep busy or

Brad and Tommy..very nice! Tommy who does your landscaping...I like it.... I love a good palm tree...

Here is the seating area of our deck...normally that would be me stretched out on the couch with my cowboy hat on the table next to my cold N/A.....there is a water event in the corner by the pillows....I like the sound of trickling waters.....but it does make me want to piss more often...

My trucks and roof got rinsed and gutters flushed by mother nature. A little audio and visual entertainment accompanied the downpour in the form of thunder and lightning. Yesterday, just up the road a couple of miles, three guys got struck by lightning while working on their trucks. One died and two suffered serious burns. It's nothing to play with.

Moved in just over 2 years ago. The plants and trees are jumping. Most were half the size or less when we planted them. Next year will be even nicer.

Did I really have to come to work today? Ugh..
Very beautiful photos you all have there - those palm trees....
I can't find all my good pics but here's some. I only have an apartment - actually it's half an older house split and redone inside - hardwood floors, 9' ceilings, I have my half of the privacy fenced back yard, we share the carport, and I have a deck and patio out back, and a covered front porch with a porch swing an adirondack chair and the mate to the other chair from the back patio and my pirate head. Can't find the patio pics but there's two zero gravity loungers there and a table, fire bowl and another matching rocker chair thing. On the deck is a nice sized stainless mini fridge, on a metal shelf with an older stereo underneath that I can hook my iPhone to with speakers mounted on the house (yep, true Redneck!), my plant that amazingly is still living, and some lanterns for night use... in the yard is one of those ghetto blue pools with the white tube frame. Had an 18' but our ice storm a few years ago demolished it, have a 16' now - plenty big enough for me plus one to float around in with a cold one. I put up a screen house but there's a different one there now. Not much but it's a good hideout for me, I have three HUGE pine trees, maple, pecan, you name it for shade, and a treeman to oversee it all.

Here's the current project - we decided to build a bigger shed behind the garage, so I needed to expand the platform. We discovered that we can't get the same pavers we used before, so I re-did the whole patio with a different style, which will also go around the border of the new shed, whenever we get around to building it (probably next spring). All I have left to do is cut some more pavers to face the frame of the expansion.

We got some good news - the damage on the Jeep was only a little over $3200. Since it needs 2 new doors and some other odds and ends, I was surprised it was that low. I thought it might be close to totaling it, which would've torqued me off. It's a 2003 with only about 56,000 miles on it. Anyway, we were happy to hear that, though the shops are so backed up with hail damage work from recent storms that it'll be a few weeks before they can squeeze us in.
