Mino kigijebawan!

The alarm clock was not a welcome sound this morning. I probably could've taken today and tomorrow off, but would rather take time off when the golf courses aren't covered with snow. It was a tad nippy out there this morning, -10. On the bright side, there is no slop on the roads, and judging by the traffic, quite a few morons are on vacation.

Have a good day, yawlz!

Good Morning CGs!

Chilly here this morning, as well. It was 50 degrees on Saturday night...it's about 8 right now. What a crock! As much as it was nice to feel 50 degree weather again, this roller coaster screws me up and I'd rather it just stayed the same temperature all winter.

Brad, any pictures of the new tile?

Have to take the kids to the rec center today and get them signed up for some classes. I don't really want to go out in the cold, I'd rather stay inside! Oh well. We will bundle up and brave the weather.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Went to the auto parts store last night to get a new wiper for my wife's car. Picked that up and tried to find a replacement for the rear window on the Audi. Guess what? Parts stores don't carry that size. Seriously? It's true. There is only one replacement blade that fits, made by bosch. I found it on Amazon and with prime shipping was free, so it was $12 (cheaper than parts store anyway) and will be here in 2 days. I think that's how I'll buy all my wipers from now on.

Here's a pic from part of the hall - glad to be done with that, lots of cutting:

I got about 70% done with the dinette area yesterday, so I have that to finish and then the kitchen. And then there's all the grouting and putting up new baseboard. And then it will be spring :-P

WallyWorld has some Bosch. I just bought some RainEx ones there.
Hafta replace them every year cause we don't turn them on for 9 months here and they get stuck to the windshield.

To sand, or not to sand, that is the question—

And by opposing end them? To die, to sleep—
No more; and by a sleep, to say we end

So, sand or take a nap....that is the question

Morning guys....about 16 here now and heading to 35 today.

Looks real good Brad, I like the tile you picked....very nice! Is that a BFH at the top of the picture? I use one of those on most of my projects. You must be feeling great today with the Viqueens winning and all, so they fired the coach to celebrate......My Chefs managed to find a way to lose to the Chargers yesterday......there are so many ways to lose...

I worked on the GS yesterday in the nice warm shop and put on these new sill plates....it went well and the hair dryer worked to get the stock ones off. I did get some letters for the Corvette logo on the interior passenger side and they were painted the color of the car. It required cutting each letter out with a razor knife so the paint does not tear away and after I got them on it looked like a two year old did it and I had to laugh how bad it was as I tore it all off..I'm sending it back in the bag just the way I tore it off...stupid parts I want my money back....

Today I gotta work.....have a nice Guru's

Worthy of the Poetry Thread I'd say.....

Forget the sanding, go to work on the chassie so you can role it around......thats more fun then boring sanding...

To smack yourself in the head when you pull the paint off?

That lettering chit is hard to do and hard to know when to pull the tape.

3M makes some 1/8th wide blue vinyl tape for that kind of stuff but it's kinda expensive, does leave a crisp line when you pull it though.

Sounds like some of you have my weather, 50 yesterday and 20 this morning - back and forth. Drives me nuts. Supposed to be sunny and it's dreary. Again. Working half day today, shop is closed for two days for the holiday. I'd planned to be here in the morning but they guys aren't and I have no keys so I'll sleep in. All of your new toys are nice

Brad - the tile looks great!

Bill - it is a weird size only used on Audis and maybe some other imports, so no one carries it. Go figure.

Marcus - I like the sill plates - not too flashy and suits the car.

Off to do errands...oh joy!

It is a lovely 19 degrees and snow here, heading for a high of 23. Today is my last work day of the year. I am taking tomorrow off to get some things done around the house. And I will be taking the SS in for an oil change first thing in the morning. I may take the granddaughter's laptop along to configure it while I wait on the car. Enjoy the day gang.

Go to the next smaller size? So what if it's 1/2 in. shorter.
The Silverado had 2 different sizes on the windshield when I got it, I switched to equal w/o even looking at the owner's manual.

THE SUN IS SHINING ON THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, CLEAR, COLD, NO WIND TO SPEAK OF. NICE START ON THE DAY.

WAS HAVING A DRINK THE OTHER NIGHT WHEN THIS GUY WALKED IN WITH A CAT-SIZE PET CARRIER. HE SAT DOWN AT THE BAR AND ORDERED A DRINK.

“WHATCHA GOT IN THE BOX”, I ASKED.
“YOU WON’T BELIEVE IT “, HE SAID

HE PUT THE BOX ON THE BAR, KNOCKED ON THE TOP, AND OPENED THE DOOR. OUT WALKS A LITTLE MAN, NOT EVEN A FOOT TALL, IMPECCABLY DRESSED IN WHITE TIE & TAILS. THE GUY REACHES IN THE BACK OF THE BOX , COMES OUT WITH A MINIATURE GRAND PIANO, AND PUTS IT ON THE BAR. THE LITTLE MAN IN WHITE TIE WALKS OVER, PUTS UP THE LID, SITS DOWN AND STARTS PLAYING A CHOPIN NOCTURN.

MY MOUTH IS HANGING OPEN. “NO WAY!”
“YEAH, WAY. FOUND A GENIE IN A BOTTLE. MUST BE A LOW RANK GENIE; HE CAN ONLY GRANT ONE WISH.”
“NO SHIT? WHAT DID YOU DO WITH HIM?”
“HE’S BACK IN HIS BOTTLE, OUT IN MY TRUCK”
“WILL HE GRANT ME A WISH? BRING HIM IN!”
“OK, BUT I GOT TO TELL YOU, BE CAREFUL. SPEAK LOUD AND ENUNCIATE CLEARLY, HE DOESN’T HEAR WELL.”
“A DEAF GENIE?”
“YEAH, DO YOU REALLY THINK I ASKED FOR A TEN INCH PIANIST?”

Good day guys....I've been up since early and at it all day. Got a call last night to meet at the church hall to set up tables for a funeral dinner, so I took Rosie to work and went up to set up tables. The phone rings there and it's my wife telling me I left my phone at the U-pump-it when I picked up a cup of coffee....crap! So then I come up to school to work on two or three different things.

My daughter loves the car. I think I'll take it to Wichita tomorrow to pick up the GS and his GF. I need to get back home and work on a computer that is there for me.

That's an oldie but a goodie, Gris.
Marcus, those sill plates look good.
Matt, couldn't you go the next size bigger?
Bill, my fingers hurt just thinking about all that sanding you have to do yet. But it won't get done on it's own.
Brad, the tile job is looking good, I like your pattern.

I don't know if it's due to the size or the way it mounts, to be honest with you. Bottom line is they don't carry it, so I ordered it. No biggie.

Well, I went to Summit Racing, bought a 3in x 900 in roll of 150 grit.
I got home and stood in the shop staring at the car for a whole 10 minutes.

Then remembered that I needed to cleanup from last night's dinner party.

Make four hudirt and bundl'it
To Summit you'll go when there's snow
Then back to the pit with the 150 grit.

I could do that when I was 16. Somehow I lost that skill many moons ago. Could have something to do with the lack of snow and ice on South Florida roads. There are some idiots around here that drive that way in the rain though.

Ahhhhh, what day is complete without a little snow shoveling? We were supposed to get "up to an inch" of snow - it was more like 3+ inches. At least it was that light fluffy stuff that is easy to push around. And it is a nice, crisp 1 degree out there to boot.

If you ever want to test the sweat glands on your head, get one of these:

If you have to drive an Audi , drive it like John Buffum

He showed up in 1985 at Carson City (World Rally Circuit) in a 750 HP Quattro,

LOL....we always felt sorry for the kids with black wheels we knew they couldn't afford chrome.....we couldn't either but were willing to go into debt to have them....

Letty's gonna yell at us.

HAR! I like chrome -on something they look good on, they just don't look good on everything. I like black on some things but again, not on everything. There were chrome wheels to my C5 when I got it - Don had just drove a long ways and paid way too much to get that 4th wheel to the set that was missing when I bought the car. He was proud of himself bless his heart, till I was getting ready to get going in the car and he asked about loading up the spare set of chrome rims and I told him he can keep those I wasn't interested... think he was kinda pizzed then LOL! :D He eventually sold 'em

Froze cold here even more that before - snow coming Thursday and a low of 13 - which one of yous sent me this chit?
