Morning gang.

It's Monday again so lets get another week started.

Word of the Day Monday, January 13, 2014

infinitesimal\ in-fin-i-TES-uh-muhl \, adjective;

1.indefinitely or exceedingly small; minute: infinitesimal vessels in the circulatory system.

2.immeasurably small; less than an assignable quantity: to an infinitesimal degree.

3.of, pertaining to, or involving infinitesimals.

Origin:

Infinitesimal comes from the Latin word infinītus meaning "boundless." The suffix -ēsimus was added to ordinal numbers in Latin.

Howdy! Our January thaw must be over - the temp is gonna start dropping later today, and tonight some snow is coming. The snowblower may get some action tomorrow. Perhaps I should spritz a little Binaca on it.

Have a good day, Gurus!

Wow I see the Christmas lead in is already gone...I think I guessed this day.....

May get to 60 here today which is only meaning that something nasty weatherwise is going to happen...

Monday and back at the grind hope you Guru's have a prosperous day......

It's a Small World lyrics are the type that get stuck in your mind. No matter how much you try, the song will just pop in your head relentlessly throughout the day. You'll be driving and singing "It's a small world after all". A moment of boredom will be filled with "It's a small world after all." Pick up a small screw ....... It's a small world ....See someone you know ...... It's a small world ..... After all, ..... it's a small, small world ..........

I have a full-size cardboard cutout of Steve Martin, a promotional item for his second album. Back when we used to have an occasional garage sale, I'd put it out in the yard with a "Wild and Crazy Garage Sale" sign taped over the album he was holding. People would stop just because of Steve.

People will buy damn near anything. I remember, one time my mother-in-law was selling a Cool Whip bowl full of nuts and bolts for 10 cents. Some guy offered a nickel, and she wouldn't budge. LMAO

Good Morning CGs!

Supposed to hit 41 today. I can see the snow slowly melting away, no complaints here. We might get some flurries throughout the week which is ok.

Kids both have school today so once they are there we might get some work done around the house. We'll see.

Brad, any more progress on the tile job?

Hope everyone has a great day!

I have a few tiles to set (ran out of thinset and ambition last night). After that, all that's left to tile is under the stove and dishwasher. I think I'm going to grout the rest before I do those. I have new baseboard trim ordered, and have to make several oak transition pieces, so this project is gonna drag out for a while.

We had some loose and broken tiles, and were tired of it. So it was either me or hire it out, and I'm too cheap to hire it out :-P

On the bright side, the Mrs. loves it - with the shiny black tile, you could see every smudge and speck of dust, which drove her nuts. This stuff hides everything.

forecast can't be still today. Didn't feel like it but cleaned up the car yesterday. Was due for 30% rain today then they said it would be Tuesday. So, I took the clean car to work today, thought I might change the oil later. Figures, it's ugly has hell out now and it's supposed to rain. I hate Arkansas. Can't it just stay dry till I get out of here at noon, get to the shop, get my crap done there, then get home an it can do what ever the heck it pleases? Geez....

None of mine came out that wide (to avoid cutting hardwood or tile.

Also had to put in a tongue or groove for the hardwood.

This one had a 3/8th rise cause of the cementboard under the tile.

Getting on a boat sounds good right around now. I've been digging through paperwork looking for stuff. Seems I haven't got to going through my records for a long, long time. Luckily I keep stuff in envelopes and pretty much in one room. Found a couple of other things I was looking for LOL.

Why a boat is worse than a beech:

If you're on a beech and get bored (which takes less than 10 minutes), you can get up, walk away and try to find some at least slightly exciting to do.

When you're on a boat, it's like a jail, you can't leave.
Which makes it REALLY bad when the owner wants to sit & stare.

What is the owner staring at.....?

The lake, the ocean, half the time a newspaper or magazine all the while his jaw is becoming slacker and his mind more numbed. And his brain is falling into his ass.

All the while dreaming about something exciting.....a new place to sit down.

They aren't doing it right. A boat can give you the same high as the mindless drone of a slot machine.

Why does the is sound so familiar, except I'm busy most of the time. If I wasn't so busy I'd probably be at a lake or an ocean (or on one). I read half the time I'm in the bathroom, and I get more places to sit for the day I might be actually be able to use them. I do things, not dream about doing but don't do as many things as I once dreamed about. If I only knew then what I know now ....

DARLING WIFE GOT HER CARDIAC CATH DONE TODAY, NO PROBLEMS, MINOR FINDINGS,PROBABLY WHAT YOU'D EXPECT IN A 72 YO WOMAN.

SPENT THE WHOLE DAY HANGING AROUND THE HOSPITAL IN TULSA. I HATE THOSE PLACES. SPENT NEARLY ALL OF 1967 IN BROOKE ARMY HOSPITAL, NOT A FUN TIME. #1 DAUGHTER WAS BORN THERE, SO IT WASN'T A COMPLETE WASH.

I'M BEGINNING TO ASK MYSELF IF THE CC WAS NOT A DOCTOR'S CYA.
