Good morning gang.

Cool here this morning temps in the high 20's. Today we should see flurries today with less than an inch accumulation.

Lets get going shall we.

Word of the Day Tuesday, January 14, 2014

antebellum\ AN-tee-BEL-uhm \, adjective;

1. before or existing before a war, especially the American Civil War; prewar: the antebellum plantations of Georgia.

Origin:

Antebellum entered English in the 1860s. It literally means "before the war" in Latin.

Instead of a six pack in the fridge, he wants six pack abs. Antebellum.

Hidey-ho! I just completed a slippery commute at a pace reminiscent of Ward Bond slogging down the old wagon trail. Very greasy out there, fresh snow on top of fresh ice. I saw a few vehicles in the ditch, and one mouth-breather in particular punted him/herself about 50 feet off the freeway. The forecast contains delightful phrases such as "blowing and drifting snow", "freezing drizzle" and "30-mph wind". Mother Nature is an endless source of joy.

Drive safely, Gurus!

Upon closer inspection, you'll notice this is a bilingual check. The writer simply made it trilingual. Ebonics.

....Mouth breathers....ahahahah......ok here we are on a Tuesday I think....no bad weather here but it is going to be windy...like real windy here today....no snow or moisture though and that is starting to be a concern for the farmers.

Hey TBee I saw a small pic of the 58 cut down Impala that Jim Powers has in the Readers Projects in Hot Rod this month. What do you know about the car? Is he your barber, it said the car was built in the back end of a barbershop. Looks kinda cool.

More work and a nap are my big things to accomplish today... Enjoy your day Guru's....

no singing here - played in the water washing a Cadillac for delivery yesterday - bad idea, ran couple shop errands, off to bed early, still have congested chest. How long does this crap last anyhow? At least the sun is out but the temps are cooky. 55 today, 30 tomorrow 51 the next day 50 after. No wonder everybody is sick. Hoping for a slow day, would like to go to the gym and at least do half of that.
Agreed a wrap might cover up some of those Corvette disasters but even stretchy vinyl has its limits...

It's all steel, english wheeled most of the parts needed. Welded and very little bondo. He's an old time craftsman. He was the barber here in town, retired from that a few years back, but built it in the shop that is the back part of his barber shop. He has redone 2 68 Formula 400 Firebird verts, one for each of his two boys. The one still sits in his building next to his house, because the younger boy doesn't like "old cars". He has had probably 10 58 Impala's in the time we have lived here. Fixes them up and then sells them. Back in the 60's he raced a 59 Del Ray 2 door sedan. this "shorty" took him about 10 years to build.

Well, home from the game. One of the best games we witnessed in many years. Back and forth the whole game, biggest lead was 6 points either way. we ended up on top by 3. GS played OK, not one of his better games point-wise, but had 6 points and 4 assists and 5 rebounds.
