Good morning gang.

We had some thunderstorms pass through the area last night.
Now we're under a wind warning and flood warning. We should stay in the upper 20's and low 30's today.

Other than that not alot going on.

Word of the Day Friday, February 21, 2014

toothsome\ TOOTH-suhm \, adjective;

1. pleasing to the taste; palatable: a toothsome dish.

2. pleasing or desirable, as fame or power.

3. voluptuous; sexually alluring: a toothsome blonde.

Origin:

Toothsome entered English in the 1560, joining the word tooth , denoting "sense, liking," with the adjective-forming suffix –some.

Greetings! I made an executive decision to work from home today. Late last night, just after I finished snowblowing the driveway for the 3rd time, the snow plow finally came by and left me a waist-high present. So I blew that out, too. Overnight the wind picked up, so I have some drifts to contend with later. It's not just fun, it's sofa king fun.

Morning guys...It's Friday! Well we won the game last night, wasn't pretty , but we won. We had quite a few bad attitudes last night, my GS was one of those and so he didn't play much, and rightly so. I had a chat with him after the game and told him to get his head out of his ass, because the team needed him the last two games of the regular season and into the playoffs.

We have another game tonight, we'll see if my little talk worked any..

I'm hoping the stupid springs for the Mustang come in today.

I hate not having a car ready for the track with the event fast approaching.

And I broke something in my foot yesterday so I'll be limping around in pain for the next bunch of days...weeks...month

Bill, why don't you go down and sit in the ER for 12 to 14 hours and let them take a look at it. You'll know what's damaged and get some good drugs to help alleviate the pain.

I was in a good mood when I came to school this morning. First hour, the principal and the VocEd director from the service center came into my classroom asking about funding issues. If you might recall the auditors came in and refused funding for my classes this year on a technicality and my new supt and principal came down me somewhat. Well these two come in asking questions which I told them why things were done the way they were and so my principal says this guy will be here to help me through the paperwork process to get things back in line, next Friday. I told them, I wasn't going to be here next Friday as I will be in Kansas City for the woodworking show and "Because I'm not funded this year, I wasn't going to do the paperwork." "Oh you have to do it to get funded next year!" "I don't really give a sh!t whether I'm funded or not." (EXACT QUOTE!) I'm tired of the state changing the rules in the middle of the game and dangling a miniature carrot out in front of you to get minuscule amount of money for a sh!tload of jumping through hoops and wading through 10' deep Bullsh!t.

Anyway they leave and 10 minutes later they call on my intercom to ask more questions which I politely (anyone read the sarcasm here) give them the answer. Two minutes later same thing......Bullsh!t.

So by the time my next class comes in I'm on a freaking rampage. I think it opened the eyes of those kids. After I was done and i sat down with one of the kids to help them with an issue she was having with a drawing. When I was finished I said "Is everything OK now?" She responds "Yes, are you OK?" Which I told her "Yes, it's just very frustrating trying to satisfy the state, who really doesn't want you to qualify for money that is due to you."

SO, my good mood went to crap! Hopefully I can get it back. Thanks for being the sounding board.

I merely got up out of a chair, of course. Side stepped slightly I guess.

That's why you should never sit in a chair.

It's pretty much the same advice I gave Letty yesterday. Tell them you have some paperwork for them and hand them this pic. By the way, I got pissed off just reading what you wrote. Now I guess I have to go kick the dog or something.

I'm glad you asked. Matter of fact I LOVE bacon. Just got back from a quick shopping trip to pick up on a few deals and use my $5 and $10 coupons. Loaded up on some BOGO's and 3 lb slabs of thick cut hickory smoked bacon. Regularly $15.99 on sale for $9.99. I brought them home, cut them in half, put them in freezer bags and now I have 6 packages of our favorite bacon ready for future use. I had to do a beer run anyway so might as well make the trip worthwhile. Great words that begin with the letter B. Beer, babes, beef, bacon and bedtime in no particular order.

Well it looks like I dodged another bullet, I am still gainfully employed.

There was a rumor circulating about a possible sale of at least part of the company. That turned out to be just a rumor. Our usually dependable grapevine is slipping.

Maybe the Chief Rumor Control Officer got let go.

BillH, get that foot heeled up. There are throttles to be stomped on.

Once upon a time I was talking to a guy on a dock. The dock edge was beveled. I put my heel down and fell six feet off the dock and into the boat, landing with my back to the deck. I got up and continued my conversation as if nothing happened. Didn't skip a beat. No pain ........

If it was the above, I'd have an excuse.

But I did drink a lot of pain killer last night.

Good to hear Ken!

Bill, crazy things happen. Just like my elbow, I wish I had done something to it, then it wouldn't be so hard to accept.

I've calmed down a bit, but I'm quickly coming to the realization that I really DON'T NEED THIS SH!T.

TB - hope you can wade through the politics.

Bill - take care of that foot.

Busy, busy, busy around here. Couldn't fix the washer this morning without possibly damaging it irreparably (due to a seized hub nut holding the basket to the trans assembly), so I lubed the bearing the best I could and we'll use it until it dies.

Got one coat of paint on the huge coatrack in the laundry room and hung the doors on it. One more coat of paint is needed.

I also took a "break" for an hour to help my neighbor diagnose a bad humidistat on his furnace.

Cooking dinner now, it's in the oven.

Folks are coming over and wife should be home soon.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Evening folks, back from the game. This was a completely different team than was at the game last night. I don't know if my little "chats" with my GS had anything to do with it or not, but he was a completely different person tonight and it showed on the court. We blew away the rival by 21 points and this was not expected. It goes to show what can happen when the kids play as a "team" We>ME has been the coaches motto for this year and when they buy into this philosophy, it shows....BIG TIME.
