Good morning gang.

A little muggy here this morning. We had overnight showers and temps are in te 50's. We should stay there all day with mostly cloudy skies.

Not much else happening.

Word of the Day Tuesday, April 22, 2014

frivol\ FRIV-uhl \, verb;

1. to behave frivolously; trifle.

2. to spend frivolously (usually followed by away): to frivol away one's time.

Origin:

Frivol is a back formation of the word frivolous which arose in the 1860s. Frivolous comes from the Latin word frīvolus meaning "worthless."

Good Morning CGs!

Tinkered with the car last night, decided to test the EVAP system to see if it is related to my idle issues. The canister and the purge control passed the functional tests as far as holding vacuum, etc. I ran out of time to test the electrical/vacuum portion of the solenoid so I will do that another time.

Weather won't be as nice here today, should be around 60. Hopefully no rain, we got some downpours yesterday. Car didn't melt when I drove home, despite having over 100,000 miles now.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Temps in the 70's here today and so far no wind.....doubt if that will last....since we did not get a signifigent rain event the American farmer is running full bore....Big pivots will be running if we dont get anything this week...

I have learned that I must change out the clutch hydraulic fluid in my GS. I know right? Why didn't I know this. GM says every 2 years but I'm hearing at least once a year and more often if the car is tracked. I will need to steal Uwomans turkey baster and suck out the bad stuff and drive it then suck out the bad stuff again and so on until its all clean.....That is called the Ranger method.....there is a bleeder down under but you have to take the cats off to get to it.....thanks for making that easy GM.

I will let you know how it goes.....I'm sure its never been changed before on this car. The clutch has been working good....I'm using Super DOT 4 from Chebby....

Have a day and a half Guru's.......let's all do some good.......napping today.......

It's a nice, moderate, sunny day here in SoFlo. I have a little running around to do so one of the cars will be a candidate for a nice cruise. I have t go by the machine shop to check on the skid steer engine progress but don't want them to assume I have deep pockets because I'm driving a shiny car. I usually like to play poor farmer when I go to anyplace involving finances. Don't want to pay a Corvette tax on farm equipment. Hell, I don't want to pay a Corvette tax on a Corvette. I remember as a teen I had a 66 Thunderbird. If I needed parts from the dealer many of the parts were interchangeable with the Galaxie. T-Bird price was almost 25% higher. Money in my pocket is always more satisfying than money in someone else's.

This is what my first car looked like till I wrecked it. It was a 63 Galaxie XL factory 4 door, 4 speed with a 352. That was a great party car.

My older sister had a host of nice cars. 57 Chevy, 58 Olds Ninety Eight, 59 Fury Convertible, 60 Impala, 64 Implala. The 57 caught fire on the freeway, the 98 she sold pissing off the guy that sold it to her, the 59 she sold for $75. It had starting issues. (Loose battery terminal). The 60 she got for $150 and wore out the clutch. It was an inline 6 that smoked a little but pulled like a freight train. In the 70's she bought a Lime Green Pinto , brand new. She had some blocks in the back to weigh down the ass end in the winter. One night she drove it over a ledge. The blocks luckily missed her. They could have put a nice dent in her head.

I don't know about you guys but I could lay in bed an identify most cars by their engine noise as they drove up the street. Those were different times.

Hey guys...been a really busy morning so far and it doesn't have any sign of easing up. I got a call yesterday to go look at a computer after school. Two hours later I made it home only to find two more computers, a guy needing some cabinet materials and another guy wanting me to build a bathroom vanity. My neighbor, and teaching colleague for the last 35 years, had her father pass away last week, a WWII veteran, I asked her if he had a military service, "yes". I told her I wanted to build her a flag case. she was tickled and very appreciative of my offer. So I need to get that done as well. The vanity needs to be done in about two weeks, so I will be a very busy boy. Worked on the plans and materials list until 10:45 last night.

Today after school I need to go install the cabinet I built last week, so I can get paid.

When will school be out, I'm too darn busy to teach.

Until we do something about guns? The guns are already illegal. It the one's that possess them illegally that something has to be done with.

Gang violence is so pointless... the media out here no longer worries about it, unless an innocent is hurt.

As for me, I blew my back out over the weekend... super tight today and last night. ouch.

sigh.

Ah yes.

I slept in until 6:30.

I played on the interweb.

I made it to Summit racing by 10 a.m.

I stopped at Joe's and we took the trailer to pick up the 34 Chevy frame from the sand blaster. I'm going to paint the frame (if I feel like it).

I helped Joe bleed the brakes on a 58.

So far, I basically accomplished............nothing.
