It's the weekend folks. Let's all get through the day so we can enjoy the time off.

Looks like a nice here sunny and temps in the low 80's. The weekend out look is for rain.

Lets get this started.

Word of the Day Friday, July 11, 2014

diffluence\ DIF-loo-uhns \, noun;

1. the act of flowing off or away.

2. the act or process of dissolving into a liquid; liquefaction; deliquescence.

3. the rate at which fluid flow diverges along an axis perpendicular to the direction of flow at a given point.

Origin:

Diffluence derives from the Latin prefix dis- , meaning "apart" or "away," and fluent- , meaning "flowing."

NATIONAL MOJITO DAY

Each year on July 11, Mojito lovers across America join together to celebrate National Mojito Day.

Known to be a favorite drink of author, Ernest Hemingway, Mojito is a traditional Cuban highball consisting of white rum, sugar, lime juice, sparkling water and mint.

With a low alcohol content, this refreshing cocktail has found popularity in the summertime as its combination of sweetness, citrus and mint flavors complement the kick of rum.

Lime wedges and mint leaves garnish an ice filled glass of Mojito.

Although born in Cuba, the exact origin of the Mojito is under debate with theory’s beginning in 1586.

Good Morning CGs!

Mike, I have never had a mojito. I know they are around, just never tried one. Maybe one day.

Today might be a good mojito day anyway. 80* and sunny. It has been humid the past few days (weeks) which makes the heat miserable. Oh well.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Greeings! Drizzly and dreary here, hopefully it will clear up later. And hopefully they'll get my truck done today. I ordered a bed cover for it last night - let the accessorizing begin. Meanwhile, oh where, oh where, has our HCF gone? Oh where, oh where could it be?

Have a great day, Gurus!

Lessons I have learned over the past week:

1. Chicks dig 'vettes.
2. Riding with the targo off is fun. Note: I need to invest in more sunscreen if I am going to do this a lot.
3. Backroads are more fun than freeways.
4. I wish I had bought a 'vette years ago.
5. Did I mention chicks dig 'vettes?

Yes, you might have noticed I am having fun with the new ride.

Vacation starts at 4:00 this afternoon. Mostly a "staycation" but there will be fun times all next week. Hoping to find a nice setting to do some really nice pictures.

Followed by primer, sanding, more primer, sanding, maybe 1 more coat of primer, sanding, color, sanding.

It is a never ending evil. Can't wait to see it finished.

Yea and it sucks. But, block sanding goes much quicker than body work. Just removing the old paint from one door jam was 3 1/2 hours. Sanding the primer on thet jam will be 15 minutes. 2 heavy coats of PPG K36 primer ,Block with 220, then 400, then wet sand with 600 ,1 coat of primer sealer, probably no sand, 3 coats of the expensive shit, 3 coats of clear. Nothing to it tard

Better you than me, my friend. I am most definitely not a bodywork person. I am sure it is going to be beautiful in the end. I forget, what color are you going with ?

Oh, I hate bodywork with a passion.
However, if I had a shop do all the fiberglass repair and shoot the paint, it would have cost me $15,000+

The paint's going to run about $2k. And I get to paint it myself which means no one other than the engine machine shop will have worked on the restoration.

There is no good muggier, just bad muggier. Today is muggier than yesterday. I've never had a mojito either, Matt. Ken I thought the same thing when I bought my 90 Corvette. I wished I had done it earlier but that was 12+ years ago. Time flies. Drove by a church today that had "Every man dies but not every man lives" on it's sign board. Thought of you BillH. Sis is on her way down to the Keys for two days. She planning on hanging by the pool and doing next to nothing. My nephew, now 22, has matured quite a bit. I was happy to see that. I can actually have a conversation with him. ... Cool ... Might take the 90 uptown and get it wet. It's hard not to get the cars wet this time of year. If you want to drive it you have to deal with the tropical weather. My energy level has been in the tank lately. I'm taking my daily vitamins again and hoping it helps. Two of the dogs got in a fight over food recently and one of then got an eye injury. Sue took her to the vet ER here and they tightened the doggy up. Put her to sleep, stitched her, cleaned up her eye, pain meds , antibiotics all for just $317. That's a bargain. I think they gave the return customer discount. Have a great day, gurus. Live each day well ...... starting today ......

Good luck!

You may be interested in this book:
http://triggerpointbook.com/

It was written by a former piano technician who became a physical therapist - there are a lot of bum shoulders and knees, etc. in that business. The material is based on volumes of research done by a couple of doctors back in the 60's, one of whom was one of JFK's doctors. The basic principle it espouses is that over 80% of pain originates in the muscles. It's a terrific resource for managing or solving your pain with simple massage techniques.

Took the 90 for a 2 hour ride enjoying a variety of roadways. Back road, community, industrial area, main city roads took the turnpike south. With that measly 250 hp I can still work up a thrill. Car worked great. A/C cranking, creed in the CD player. I know I haven't driven it in awhile because CAGS caught me twice. That doesn't happen with regular use.

Hi there....went in early to the Doc and it all turned out well. BP was 120 over 80 because I didn't have to wait very long. Everything else checked out ok.

I am going to get that book Brad...is it an E-book yet? My shoulder and neck muscles are giving me fits also...

Got a meeting to go to now more later....

I hate traveling on 80...I really got to test the Z06 brakes out on the GS when an asshat trucker pulled out to pass another truck while I'm doing 82 mph that's 132 kph for you international types and just starting to pass him...and I had a Suburban right on my 6 and I thought he was headed for the ditch.......I flipped the trucker off for about 5 minutes when I did pass him then got in front of him and gradually slowed down to about 40 not letting him around me and we ran that way for a while....sonsofbitches.....

Have a nice day Guru's.....

I know why I like you Marcus, You're just exactly like me! Reading your post there about the trucker, sounds like something I would do. I don't know how many truckers pull out to pass another one and then just sit there doing about 55 passing the other one doing 54 1/2mph, 10 miles down the road he finally, maybe, gets past.

Got word this afternoon, that they have taken my MIL off all meds, and everything else too. Just a matter of time now. Rosie is accepting of the decision. Doesn't even think she wants to go back and see her again. Just worried about her dad and her sister having to maintain the vigil. But they said that they weren't going to sit there and wait either. They told them it could be 3 hours to three weeks.

Sorry to hear tee. I sat in on a couple of vigils. It's not an easy thing to do, to watch someone slowly pass. They are with us in spirit through all our days. I am grateful that I had moments to share with many people in my life and now that some are gone I have fond memories of the time we spent together. My mom is 88 and is no spring chicken. She has a really great outlook on life and death and harbors no fear of the end. Instead she is grateful for the gifts she's been given even with the hell of war she went through. She cries for all that were lost and the atrocities of World War II. All of us take life for granted I believe. (Except for BillH)

Don't ask me where that came from. I just went on a ramble .........

I was just doing some cruise shopping. I'm hooked. Looking for a Fall/Winter getaway. I shop for deals and locations I've never been before.

Thanks guys.....it's life's' cycle and it's what each one of us will have to deal with in our own way. Personally, her passing would be a blessing as she is not the person we have known.
