Good morning gang.

Looks like a nice day here. Temps in the low 70's and sunshine. We are feeling the cool brisk air in the morning though a subtle reminder that Fall is here.

Word of the Day Wednesday, September 24, 2014

chansonette \ shahn-saw-NET; English shan-suh-NET \,noun;

1. French. a little song; ditty.

Origin:

Chansonette comes to Enligsh from the French chanson meaning "song" and the diminutive ending -ette.

Today is NATIONAL CHERRIES JUBILEE DAY

A special food holiday is celebrated every year on September 24 – National Cherries Jubilee Day. Cherry lovers everywhere are smitten with this easy to make, delicious dessert and it is a favorite for many special occasions.

Cherries are mixed together with liqueur (typically Kirschwasser) and then flambeed. Very commonly the Cherries Jubilee is served as a sauce over vanilla ice cream.

Auguste Escoffier receives the credit for the Cherries Jubilee recipe. He prepared the dish for one of Queen Victoria’s Jubilee celebration. It remains unclear if it was the Golden Jubilee of 1887 or the Diamond Jubilee of 1897.

Enjoy the following “tried and true” Cherries Jubilee recipe and have a wonderful National Cherries Jubilee Day!

NATIONAL CHERRIES JUBILEE DAY HISTORY

Within our research, we were unable to find the creator of National Cherries Jubilee Day, an “unofficial” national holiday.

Matt likes to gamble. If he can bet he's willing to take a chansonette.

Current family situations are taking a toll. My energy level is taking a serious beating and my mind pops into hyper-drive. I know what's going on and the effect it's having on me. Strange how the body reacts to emotion.

In summary, my son is getting help and my wife goes under the knife Friday. She'll be laid up for a little bit and will have a drain hanging from her neck for a few days after the surgery. Sue is having a saliva gland removed. It's complex because of the location. Have heard the surgery will be around 3 1/2 hours. Outside of that, Mama is doing pretty good and gaining strength. Most everything else around the our house is in order. I just have a ton of work waiting for me.

Lavender? It will look just fine with a smattering of black grease, some overspray and couple of well placed gouges. I have a marble top lying in wait for it's future shop use. It will give a workbench a touch of class. ;) (until I pile stacks of stuff on it) One thing missing is a couple black framed cutouts of Hot Rod hotties .

Morning guys...It Wednesday, so early morning meeting. I have the MSers for 10 minutes then off for 40.

X2 on the mojo, Tommy.

I guess things can be much worse, each of our situations are different. We think we have things bad, then we see what others are facing and it makes our problems seem insignificant, or at least reduced in dimension.

Marcus, I really need to get my travel computer out so I can retrieve that doc for you. I have some ideas for your cabinets. Lavender? Maybe I should incorporate that into the design?

You know Marcus, after looking at your pictures closer, I think I have a piece of that counter top, in my storage shed. I took one out just like yours a few years ago and one piece was just too nice to throw away.

@Brad....that was funny....I was laughing a lot a couple of times.....then I couldn't remember why.....

About 87 and breezy here today. Hate being stuck indoors on a nice day. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on that pet calendar I'm working on and, as usual, it's the ad lady that will screw it all up and stress me right at the end. Sent her proofs of the 8 ads two weeks ago and I'm still missing her back cover and 15 other of them. I like her but I can't stand to have to work with her.
Shop is coming along nice there, Marcus...
Tommy - yes, eat the elephant one bite at a time and a beer to wash it down if necessary. Many prayers headed your way.

Good Evening CGs!

Well, this morning I planned on driving out to a warehouse to purchase a new toolbox. This is the one I found online:

http://www.amazon.com/WEN-77041-41-In ... est-Cabinet/dp/B00AC4RWZK

Thing is, the warehouse is about an hour from my house and they sell direct. So I spent an hour and a half (traffic) driving out there to go pick it up. Get there and inspect it, and I was disappointed with the overall quality. Metal was somewhat flimsy and drawer slides were not good and there was a "lock" for the drawers that made them hard to open/close. I guess I am spoiled having grown up around good quality tools such that I don't appreciate the mediocre ones. I can't believe all the 5 star reviews on Amazon (which really got my hopes up). Obviously people who don't know better. This is a basic homeowner grade box and nothing better than that. Funny thing is, they had some returns in the warehouse, including one that said "craftsman" on it...go figure that the same factory making the "wen" boxes is rebadging for multiple companies including the low end craftsman. So I drove home empty handed.

Still haven't worked on the vette as far as draining the gas tank. I have to drive RR#1 to CCD tonight and wait for her, so no work will get done tonight, either.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Matthew

Shop looks good Marcus.

I agree Matt finding a good quality box isn't easy to find that would be reasonably priced. The hard part is finding one made in the USA. There are a few but they are pricey.
