Likely not, no matter what their doctrine. I've never been into self-mutilation....

Well, I'm all for doing your own thing as long as it doesn't harm anyone else but that, I just don't get. What would be the motivation for doing something like that to yourself that obviously can't be undone if you were to change your mind in the future. I've seem a lot of similar pictures of people but have never encountered one in real life. I've always wondered where they could possibly get legitimate jobs looking like that...

How is that any more rediculous than the pointy hat the Pope wears?

Well in short, the pope can take his hat off anytime. Take out all that steel and he will leak like a f***ed fridge.

Hey, I kind of like that hat (proper term is Mitre) but then I was taught to. Obviously, it would be tough to change oil or plug wires in the LTx wearing one of those but there's also a much smaller model that closely adheres to the contour of the skull for casual events (such as oil changes and/or plug wire replacement) called a zuchetto...

I'm am always surprised when meeting people like that, almost disappointed sometimes how normal they are.

Society teaches us that someone who looks different is different (especially if it's self-inflicted), but I find it's pretty far from the truth. Me for example, I have a 30 inch johnson, and it makes me walk funny. But I assure you I'm normal just like the rest of you!

I think the same sort of thinking is what makes people prejudiced against others.

Now I'm thinking about all the nutcases I've ran into that are hiding behind normal looking clothes and normal looking lives. Those are the ones you gotta worry about.

Boy, that's for sure. I'm living next to one of those right now. I wouldn't be surprised if one or both of us is dead, crippled or in jail before the end of the year...

Right, like the serial killers. The reporters always mention that the neighbors called him a "quiet man, who kept to himself."

We have a pretty creepy dude at the office who looks like a 70's porn star. He's constantly hovering around the few attractive females in the office. My buddy once commented that "although it looks like he's staring at her breasts, he's actually trying to decide if she'll fit in his freezer..."

If the "rest of you" means we all pass out when arroused, yea, sure.

That picture to me is repulsive. I don't see the art or purpose in it. This is simply my opinion, but I feel folks who go to that extreme are attention whores who are looking for acceptance from some fringe they have tremendous affection for.

It's as if they are rebelling just for the sake of rebelling against their perception of "normal."

I appreciate differences. Everyone has different tastes, hobbies, likes and dislikes. But when it reaches the extremes as in that photo, it becomes an obsession. I cannot believe it is healthy.
