Good morning gang.

Cold here to start the day with some flurries. Temps start in the low double digits and only get to 20.

Health mojo to all those that need it.

On with today.

Word of the day is triskaidekaphobia.

Today is NATIONAL TORTELLINI DAY

Enjoy your favorite tortellini dish on February 13th, as it is National Tortellini Day. This “unofficial” national food holiday is celebrated each year on this day. Tortellini lovers across the country will make their favorite recipes or order a tortellini dish at their favorite pasta restaurant.

Tortellini is a signature dish from the Italian region of Bologna, where they claim to have created these tiny stuffed pastas. Ravioli, tortelloni, and tortellacci are all part of the same family of stuffed pastas. The most common fillings for tortellini are ham, white meat, and Parmesan cheese.

An organization called The Learned Order of the Tortellini, in the city of Bologna, has it’s members wear to the meetings, red and gold hats that are shaped like tortellini. They also wear a ribbon, around their neck, that has a gold shaped tortellini hanging on it. The Learned Order of the Tortellini has a large membership that is dedicated to the preservation of the traditional tortellini.

There are many ways to prepare a tortellini dish. You may want to top it with a cheese sauce, cream sauce, pesto, spaghetti/pasta sauce, or tomato sauce, or follow one of the thousands of recipes available for a great tortellini meal.

Enjoy one of the following “tried and true” tortellini recipes :

NATIONAL TORTELLINI DAY HISTORY

Much research has failed to find the creator or the origin of National Tortellini Day, an “unofficial” national holiday.

NATIONAL BLAME SOMEONE ELSE DAY

National Blame Someone Else Day is always celebrated on the first Friday the 13th of the year.

The way to celebrate is self-explanatory in it’s name and really not much more needs to be said. If you do not want to blame someone, put the blame on something (remember, it is all in fun!).

NATIONAL BLAME SOMEONE ELSE DAY HISTORY

National Blame Someone Else Day, an “unofficial” national holiday was invented by Anne Moeller of Clio, Michigan in 1982. One day, her alarm clock failed to go off, hence creating a domino effect of bad luck events throughout the day. The day happened to be Friday the 13th.

Good Morning CGs!

Didn't have much time yesterday so I was catching up on yesterday's chat. Good luck to Don, Ken, and to TB's brother medical-wise.

I saw you guys discussing washing shop towels at home. Here's my tip: Growing up my dad was a journeyman toolmaker so he came home with oily/greasy clothes every day. Mom would wash them in the washer which left a ring at the top of the basket from the oils. Best way I found to remove it was by using a used dryer sheet. Just run it over the grease dry and it cleans it all off almost instantly. I figured that out by accident one day and I've been using it ever since. Try it and you'll be surprised.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I see Andy took down The Merry Christmas just before Presidents Day. Who's the winner that guessed Friday the 13th? Thanks Matt for the helpful tip. I'm sure you found out about other stuff by accident too.

Might as well jump right into the sophomoric pit from the start.

Greetings! Health mojo to all, indeed. Last day of work before I have 10 days off. The site still seems to be occasionally moving as slowly as I will be next week. Meanwhile, I will be laser-beam focused on reaching the end of the work day.

Have a great day, Gurus!

SEMI-SUNNY AND COOL THIS MORNING IN THE NATIONS.

GOT TO TAKE DOTTIE THE SETTER BACK TO DAUGHTER THE VET TODAY. THE SKIN INFECTION I THOUGHT WAS CURED HAS REBOUNDED. GUESS WE TOOK HER OFF ANTIBIOTICS TOO SOON.

AND IN THE LATEST “CLOWNS RUNNING THE CIRCUS” EPISODE, THE PEOPLE WHO CAN’T TELL YOU IF IT WILL RAIN NEXT WEEK ARE PREDICTING A MEGA-DROUGHT IN FIFTY YEARS.

They are almost as good as financial forecasters. Bulls, Bears, then the average Joe. The Bears got me out of the market in 2012 and rightfully so. Of course then the market took off. Then I was also listening to conservative investors talking about "As you get older you want to reduce your exposure to market swings." You should have no more than X% invested in several categories. The market of 08 took a bite out of my S&P 500 investments and in 2011/12 I bailed for safer ground when I recouped about 1/3rd more than my original investment. Good thing we bought this house. It's now worth close to twice what we paid for it with the improvements. Why am I writing about this? Oh ya, the weather .............

Sent my blower off to ATI ProCharger for repair. Noisy bearings. 15 lbs cost me $50 to Lenexa Kansas insured for $500.. Since my last oil change I was getting a little smoke after warm up. Found no major leaks. A couple of drips coming from the oil filter and a couple of drips from the blower oil supply line connection. One more noise has decided not to appear now that the car is in the shop. Might be ABS pump related. Can't fix what you can't find. Thinking of re replacing my defective slave in the 90. Piss me off. The replacement slave lasted a little over a year. Right now I'm just adding fluid when I drive it. It will get fixed one day when I feel like it.

What am I sitting here for? I have stuff to do .......

Just a short note to thank everyone for the health mojo. It worked. I went in and the angiogram found 4 blocked areas, These were on the 2 left branches of the main coronary artery. One had three blocks and he had to put in 2 stents totally 56 mm long. He said that one was about 99% blocked. The other blockage he used a 20 mm stent.

This was all done this morning and I am home tonight feeling good and lucky on Friday the 13th. I've always thought 13 was lucky.

Have a good one and best wishes to you all.

The boys made a big comeback from Tuesday's blasting. They came out firing on all eight cylinders. They then had their 'normal' 3rd quarter, and let them come back. But recovered and beat them pretty good in the end. It was a nice drive down and back (90 minutes each way)
