Ok I'm back.......yesterday the electrician was here to put in this antique hanging lamp that my wife found and had to have put up in the great room.....first thing he did was pick it up and the globe fell off on the floor and broke in several pieces.......my wife was stunned as they both stood there and looked at it......her first reaction was to beat him with the remainder of the lamp but she held off because at the antique place they had another bowl as a spare and she took it........the poor electrician felt real bad but we will still get a bill I'm betting......
Raining here and cloudy and cool......the girls are coming back for a week each so my wife is bustling around making sure everything is ready.....it will be good to have them back home...... Let's rock into the weekend Guru's....... |

Morning guys....I guess I must have been pretty tired as I went to bed last night at 10:15 and just got up at 9am I haven't slept like that in years. I'm still no Brad, but I'm making headway.
Not much on the agenda today, a little shopping (oh, boy) and then see some grandkids. ExSIL (that daughter and her new hubby are out of town, but we are staying in their house) is letting us have those overnight tonight and tomorrow morning Rosie and three of the kids are doing a walk/run. So while we have them we are going to take them and the other daughter and family out to eat tonight. Should be a real zoo. Headed to the Royals game tomorrow night as well. Gray skies out there, not hot but humid as hell. While we are here, we are using daughters' Enclave to transport kids around. It's nice, but it ain't 007. |

Gris, you remind me of a friend of mine (may he RIP) who hated those squirrels for eating his bird feed. He'd sit in his shop with the window open and shoot those bastiches.

Hidey-ho! The noisy garbage collectors harshed my buzz this morning - it was a struggle to keep falling back asleep. Good thing I have a lot of practice. A friend of my son's is going to come over today to haul away our old BBQ - it looks nice but is getting finicky, and I've never been particularly pleased with it. Hope he brings help - it is HEAVY. We bought a nice Weber yesterday - I missed the old one we had before.

Good Morning CGs!
Seems like the CG is a bad influence on each other. Marcus is turning in to Tommy (buying antiques) and TB is turning into Brad (sleeping in late). Pretty soon I'll be shooting squirrels and Tommy will be taking some kids to gymnastics (which will really shock their parents). Went to the post office this morning and came home and started picking up around the house and vacuuming. Time for a workout and I'd like to change the oil in the Vette today. Wife took the kids blueberry picking. I wasn't in the mood to do that. Hope everyone has a great day! Matthew |

I'm due to have a house full of people in about 30 minutes. My mother, a niece, her husband and three kids plus a 2 great nieces are staying at my house. My sister, BIL another niece and her boyfriend are staying at a local hotel but going to hang around the house here with the rest of the family. ........... Did you get that?
Tomorrow all them plus my Mil, FIL, another BIL, a niece, her husband, their two kids, some neighbors and a friend of Sue's will join us for a pre fireworks party, party. Are you still with me? We're going to the race track tomorrow for the fireworks. We have tickets to a city sponsored event which includes food and beverages, an air conditioned dining area and seats overlooking the track to view the booms, bangs and flashes. It should be a good time since all I have to do is sit back, watch and say uh-huh a lot. |

We're camping this weekend in Marion. We're have our oldest out to visit tomorrow. It's cool today temps in the 70's and a light breeze. Feels good to just relax for a change. It's Mrs captmike's birthday today so I'm spending the day taking care of her. Have a good day gang. |

Well, shopping is over (for me), while Rosie had her nails done, I went in and had a foot massage. Makes all those aches and pains go away for a while anyway. The clouds have given way to the sun and the temps have moderated, low 80's in July is good for KC.

Dinner wasn't too bad. Went to a pizza buffet so all go the type of pizza they wanted. Came home and walked down to the park at the end of the street and played catch with the grands. The oldest one here took me for a ride in her "new" car (2002 Beetle). I told her next time we come I'll bring my detailing stuff and polish it up real nice for her. She thought that would be "awesome".
