Worked my butt off yesterday, 9 hours with the nursery and three before that at home. Pretty much no breaks or lunch.

Zac xistil!

Gonna be mid-70's here, too - nice to be walking around in shirt-sleeves in early November. Last night the neighborhood was filled with the sounds of yard machines - everybody knows this can't last.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Morning guys...70's here too. Big parade in KC for the Royals @ noon. Wish I could be there. My daughter asked if I was coming up for the parade, but I declined, just didn't make a lot of sense for me to go. I'll watch it on TV as FoxSports KC is carrying it.

WOW Bill... that's a abrupt change in weather.

I just got back from Charleston SC (work) on Friday and it was in the mid 80's F down there... Beautiful weather for the most part. We stopped in Roanoke Rapids NC for gas and I about skipped a breath when I got out of the car as it was like 50*F....

Well back to work for me. Have a good day guys.

Good Morning CGs!

The kids were up extra early this morning terrorizing the house. They still aren't used to the DST change. Got them washed up, dressed, fed, and off to school. After that I stopped by my mom and dad's for a few minutes, then I had some shopping to do for a small gift for wifey. Her BD is coming up soon so I needed to get that out of the way. Been tidying up the house since then. Amazing what I find out of place in every different room from the kids. Oh well. My mind is telling me to go work on the car, but my body is saying no. Not sure what I'll do. Still early.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

That snow photo... just.. NO..... ugh
70's here - ugly day today rain tomorrow - Sunday was gorgeous though. Me and the BF took a drive in his car along part of a route that we usually take to see the 'fall colors' in the Ozarks around here with the Vette Club. Just us this time. The one that usually drives the lead car passed away recently. Some of us just went on our own. We missed the best views by about 2-3 weeks I'm guessing but we got out of the house and he got to stretch the Camaro a bit. Routes along highways 7, 5 and 9 and some others in upper Arkansas, remnants of the old Dogpatch place, some very steep, twisy and windy roads and pretty scenery. Arkansas Grand Canyon Overlook was the final stop for us in a place called Jasper. Next time we'll come up the other end and hit the other half of it. Pics/vids in my FB if anyone wants to go look.
Hope everyone had a good weekend and workweek starting off nicely.

Been watching the celebration and parade for the Royals. It's amazing how many people came out for this. My daughter text me from the mayhem saying it was unbelievable. It has been 2 1/2 hours and still going. Said to be more than 1/2 million there.

Wow, Bill, Snow?

Damn, deleted Will's post.
Anyway,

Yea, big bucks, probably north of $100k just for the car.

But as you know, racing ain't cheap.

That's why I ran a "Club Formula Ford" and not a "Formula Ford" and the thought of a "Formula Atlantic" gives me nightmares.

Club Ford - $15,000 fully prepped, track ready, Tires- $600 (good 3 races).
Formula Ford - $35,000, Tires - $800, per race
Atlantic - $100,000 - Tires - $1,800 per race

Gotta say that the Atlantic is just mind blowing to drive though.

After work, I picked up leaves for the 3rd day in a row, fertilized the lawn, covered up the sprinkler heads along the street, and put the push mower away and took the snowblower out of the shed. Had to move fast as it gets dark in a HURRY now. Tonight I'll put my fancy antifreeze bucket mousetrap up in the garage rafters and hopefully catch me a bunch of varmints.

Brad, how does the anti-freeze bucket in the rafters mouse trap work? I know a Cuban down here that uses a bucket of water trick and rats crawl in the bucket and drown.

The other night Schatzie, the dog, woke me to let Lucky the cat in at 04:00 AM. Lucky had cornered a small field rat by the front door. When I opened the door the rat took off, thankfully away from the door. Schatzie leapt out the door and I could hear the rat begging for his life all the way till Schatz got it. A couple of well placed chomps and there were no more cries. I got everybody in and went back to bed. Later in the morning when I went out to the front yard the dog brought me her present and laid it at my feet. The dogs and cats are always so willing to catch stuff. One day Schatz was chasing down a huge egret. I called her off but she doesn't listen when she hunting. Luckily the bird got away by the skin of it's beak. I've found a lot of dead birds and chicks. Unfortunately we have Bufo toads down here. If they bite one of them the toads emitted toxin can kill them. They froth at the mouth, shake their head like crazy trying to get the shit out. If you're lucky you can wash out their mouth and they recover a short while later if you get it quickly. Mimi, the Yorkie tangled with one and it sent her into convulsions. We almost lost her. Nothing that a good vet and $650 couldn't fix though. And that's all I got today from The Pet Corner.

They'll drown in the anti-freeze, too, and supposedly not stink to high heaven. Plus it still works even when mother nature turns the thermometer waaaaaaaaay down ;-)
