My old man had a 1978 280 SEL that had a dead odometer, it stopped at 634,XXX klms on its 2nd trip around the clock, and was still going strong some 6 years later. Thats over 1,000,000 known miles and not one rebuild on anything ever.

Purchased our C4 just one year ago... next week!!!

Picked up our black 89 with 79,000 miles last year. It now as 96,000. Originally we were going to try and keep the miles off the car in hopes of retaining the valve. But after 20 minutes of ownership we realized there was no point in owing it if we didn't enjoy it. After punching the pedal once or twice, we realized that it doesn't matter if it has 200,000 miles.... we'll probably never sell it

I love to see this stuff! I only have 80k on the Ruby, but as I mentioned, if I take this other job, the miles will start to pile on, to the tune of 2,000 a month. I'm actually looking forward to it. I don't get to drive my Vette nearly enough. But when I do, it is like hanging out with my best friend. It just feels really good.

I've only had one other car that I felt this way about, and that was my '88 MR2 that I bought new in April of '89. Looking at my life now, I cannot imagine purchasing a brand new sports car. What a difference a mortgage, a wife and three kids makes!

I did pretty much the same thing. Bought my LT4 with 52,000 miles.
After 2 Power Tours, a trip to Bowling Green, and always taking the Vette when we want to go for a cruise it now has 84,000 miles.

Still looks and drives like new. Not a thing wrong with it.
Told wife, I didn't buy the damn thing to sit in the garage.

Amen, RollaMo-LT4 and Danspeed1!

But 30 years from now, I sure will appreciate the guys who are keeping one pristine, just so I can look at a nice example with my nearly 70 year old eyes. Assuming I live that long.
So my hat's off to the guys that keep them in the garage too. Kinda like being a police officer. Not something I could do, but I'm damn glad somebody is doing it!

Yeah but Case, isn't it true that Australian miles are only 1/13 as long as American miles? Remember, everything's bigger over here...

Just shy of 125K on my '95. Only about 9K on the stroker though and the beefed tranny is fairly fresh too. Unknown miles on the '85 D44 I swapped in a few years ago. But it looked great when it went in. Mileage means little on these cars if they're kept up. Like any car of such age that's driven a lot though, there's always something to do. But in five years of ownership, she's never left me sitting yet.

No mate, it was 1,634,XXX Klms when the odometer stopped, which converted, is over 1 million miles

Thats US gallons youre thinking of, which are smaller than imperial gallons any way!! So what is it you were saying about bigger?

48k here

Daily driven. Had 46k when I bought it, and I plan on putting many more miles on this baby. Cars are meant to be driven!
