I still can't get this forum to post images correctly. But here is a link to a few photos of my new wheels.
I'm pretty excited about how they are going to look. I was a bit lazy and didn't feel like dropping the car down off the jack stands to see how it looks on the ground, but might get around to that this weekend. I think the "Anthracite" colored centers look pretty good. I guess some manufacturers call it black chrome?

Ooops! I just noticed the front wheel & tire is on the wrong side of the car. Good thing its just a trial fit.

Trial fit?

What's stopping you from driving it? For wheel changes I usually just jack the car one side at a time in the center, nascar style. Makes for quick work, especially with the air gun.

Where you been? LOL
It's been off the road since last year. I did the heads & cam swap, cleaned up the motor, replacing a lot of different components along the way.

http://www.biggrizzly.com/corvette_stuff/EMheaders.jpg

I just recieved the new headers the other day, that's what has been holding me up for some time now, not only the fact that we moved in April and I had to move the car and all the stuff to a new garage. "Aarrrggg"

Things to do to get it rolling again are:
install headers and exhaust, ac compressor, ac condensor, radiator, hoses, wires, pwr steering pump, and other various under hood stuff. Hopefully in another month or so.

Thanks for the compliments

17X9.5 front
17X10.5 rear I think 50mm offset but I looked at so many sizes they could be 56mm

wow, I wonder how those would look on a dark car. ala polo hehe.

My hands down no question favorite wheels, are Fikse FM5's.

My 2nd are CCW 505's.

But since those 2 with tires cost more than my car, I've settled on getting GS replicas.

These have me thinking about going a different direction.

I looked at a lot of different wheels that were in my price range and these without a doubt to me looked the classiest for this car. I almost got all chrome, but I wanted to be a little different and not go solid black.
These offer a little bit of both. I think they'd look good on any C4 personally.

I still have a set of OEM collector edition rims that I'm holding on to for either the race track or something else.

I think those are one of the best looking sets of rims you can put on a C4. I prefer that color over chrome, too, so nice choice

Mike,

I'm not sure where AR makes their wheels, but here is the website link.

http://www.americanracing.com/browse_ar_torq.asp

They have been around for years and make a respectable product from my past experience with them on a few cars.

If you still have the boxes it should say on them if not then stamped inside the wheel. But don't take them off just to look for me. I'll email them and ask.

They look real good.

I checked the back of the wheel for any markings and AR has been very diligent in not allowing any kind of markings to indicate where they were manufactured. More than likely it is offshore. That doesn't necessarily mean its an inferior product, just that more of our money is going out the door.

For that matter, all of the OEM ZR1, CE, and GS rims were manufactured in Japan.

I like the chrome too, but I wanted to stay with the grey silver look to stay closer to the look I had with my ZR-1 wheels. Plus, painted wheels have been good to me. They can easily be buffed and waxed if needed. I was a little worried about chrome plating, but I guess that is nothing to worry about these days especially with garaged cars.

BTW - your car is very sharp.

Those look great, love the finish and color of the spokes...little different.V4 is a funny thing, you can get away with the hotrod look and a lot of older type wheels and they still look good.

Thanks, I like that look on your car, looks good.... what sealed the decision for me to go chrome is that I live in the south, so our winters are not that harsh, and on the rare occasion we do get snow, the place shuts down for a few days... they don't use salt here they usually use sand....while I don't have a garage I do have a carport so it is covered to a degree... bottomline anyone who goes the Torq Thrust IIs or Ms can't go wrong in my book...
